try to draw your lines in one stroke, instead of going back and forth! that's more general advice/for the future, though, since this has already been lined and colored, and re-lining it would essentially mean redoing the whole thing.

procreate has been better for me but it 1) costs money 2) like i think nae said before there is a limit on layers

I’m to picky when it comes to programs on my laptop so I’m just stuck with drawing on iPad with my finger

All I want in a program is good blending and a good brush engine

Csp has all I need and more

Almost all the art programs on laptop is for money and I can’t spend money so I gotta stick with whatever I can get

I've used a lot of other programs before I got csp

It’s really hard to explain... but with the brushes I have available, the overall feel of the app and the way everything works I’m kind of locked into a non lineart fluffy style which I’ve been finding it very very hard to break out of. A professional artist coming down into procreate might have much better luck with these things, but trying to improve and expand on myself with the restrictions is hard. It’s of course possible and I applaud people who can work the exact same no matter the art program, but I’ve always just found it silly.
Especially the freaken stability I just want a delay on my pen why is that so hard to ask for 😩

Just as Midori said, get practice with the tablet and get used to it. I reccomend (personally) getting krita or practicing on whiteboard fox to mess around with it a bit

theres a wrong and right way to get good at art efficiently

doing art everyday is not the best way to improve, if you do art everyday you will be just stuck in a Plato where you won't improve much, take your time drawing, you should draw whenever you feel like it so that later on you can just look at it and realize areas where you can improve but if you do art daily you won't give yourself time to figure out the areas where you could improve

if you can do it props to you
but the goal shouldnt be to crank out full pieces everyday in a random cartoony style you developed or whatever
there are tons of art books and videos online that can help you properly
but focusing on fundamentals like: colour theory, anatomy, composition, lighting and so on for a set amount of time everyday will really help your piece

but this advice is honestly just if youre serious about art
cause people that plan to make money from their art spends a lot more time doing ugly sketches and studies than pretty pieces for a long time

if you just want to do art for fun then you can still learn the basics but you dont have to dedicate much time to just practice. you can have more fun with it

when i get in a rut like that, i try to find reference images that have the energy i'm looking for and do a bunch of studies to get it into my brain!

also,, ive been rlly inspired by folks in this server with cool stardew oc's, so i decided to make one too!! she's inspired by popuri from harvest moon 64 since there arent any florists in sdv! she's gonna have a lot of chickens and grow a lot of flowers :D she's still in development but I wanted to share the pin board i made of her ~vibes~

I tend to let them like this but sometimes when I feel like it I do add some color, maybe Ima do it when I get more confident about colouring on paper

if you love the traditional sketch but want to colour it you should just line it digitally it and colour that
