it's just wild seeing how two years and a change of programs (and finally using vector layers for lines) can change up your work lol

they're super useful especially for linework, i find it's just much easier to have a controlled/consistent stroke that way

The issue is that if you're client doesn't really know what they want, then that means you can't be sure that they'll actually like what you come up with, and only after you've put in the effort.
At best your client doesn't know how to be a client. At worst, cynically, they might end up getting a lot of free extra labor off of you.
I'm trying to think of an analogy for this but the sheer incompleteness of the client's request is itself the baffling factor.

I did some wallpaper decorations before and my boss told me to just cover up those flaws on the walls and keep it simple, so i did, then later they told me it’s too bland, so i added some colors, then they said it’s too messy, so i tried peeling off some and they say why is there only those few patterns, so i told them i was only given so much materials and they asked isn’t there more and got upset then they found a bunch of new materials I’ve never seen and they asked why I didn’t use those

Maybe try hue sliding the desk to see what you like best, but I think having it mesh with the room so the character stands out most would be good!

I tried stabilizers but they were slow and went after I drew the line which I found confusing

yeah they take some getting used to. Have to take your time and guide it around. but it does help for some things.

its great but usually hit or miss! probably one of/the best free art programs. also just to add, i find watching speedpaints is more helpful than tutorials sometimes because you get to see peoples entire rendering process, or it is at least with how i draw! yw

Speedpaints are so helpful!! If you can find ones by artists who use the program youre using and talk about their process you can find out a lot of useful tools and tricks to make your drawing process more comfortable and efficient
