It depends on what you do more ... If you mine a lot often, I recommend stone fences! They are quite resistant, and they give a certain style not bad. But if you want really hardwood ones, so maybe only temporarily while you can harvest the hardwood.

u have to plant many normal trees on ur farm

nd when autumn hits, the game will turn one of them into a mushroom tree

them u can chop the normal trees down nd the mushroom trees will start to expand on the farm

nd u can also find the mushroom tree seed on the farm cave if u choosed to have the mushrooms instead of the fruit bats

or u can be like me nd get it from cbj item spawner mod

it needs 1 or two upgrades first. Once you put a fish in a pond, it starts to multiply slowly and some time the pond gives you a short "quest".

Lava Eels, Super Cucumbers, Slimejacks, and Void Salmons change the color of the pond water. For Lava Eels, the color change happens after the first quest is completed. For the other fish, the color changes when the population reaches 3 (if the third fish is thrown into the pond, the color change happens overnight).

no, you can't change the grass unless it was grass seed you can cut it but no, it is no removable. just the dirt part you can plant on. if you wanted you could put some sheds there for your kegs.

Yes, you can. But only if you have a program that allows you to unpack XNB files and a map editor like Tiled. Then you can remove the grass and everything else from the map that bothers you. It's a lot of work though, I'd rather look for a custom map.

Oh there's also a Mod that allows editing of Tiles. Forgot the name though, but it's on Nexus.

So the sheds that I have here hold Crystallaria and Kegs, I've also filled up Ginger Island house entirely with Kegs and the farm is just Ancient Fruit and Pineapples(very convenient 7 day regrowth cycle) The Crystallaria are making Diamonds mostly, some Jade for staircases. Problem with solo is that we have only one Cellar, so Casking and Kegging aren't really syncing unless I use a little fairy dust, but then again using up Gold grade Fairy Roses for dust seems practically uneconomical. I just need to harvest enough basic and silver grade fairy rose somehow.

Year 1 summer, i've been playing SV for 2-3 real years, and finally found out that i always should buy the most expensive season crop (in this case melons) to have the most profit

corn is a good crop to put in at the beginning of summer as it will grows in 2 seasons

I'm currently redoing my farm, again. But I'm stuck not sure what to put in the big empty area, or how to clean up the path to the Greenhouse and Sheds? Please excuse the temporary setup in the top-right corner (I'm grinding ingredients for more Kegs and Preserves Jars). The random flooring is from my old Keg setup.

You can change it at the Carpenter's Shop, in the "New Farm buildings" selection menu thingy, there's a paint brush along the move and delete icons.

I’d recommend planting some decorative trees, or adding some lamp posts? If you can remove the flooring, then that’d be good.

On a slightly unrelated note, I really like the layout of the sprinklers, but I think they’d go nicely if you put them side by side, not on opposite ends. It just looks like your fish ponds are jumbled up in the middle, and moving the crops would allow you to put the fish ponds together, in a way that makes more sense, like 2 rows of 3 or 1 row of 6.

You have a lot of nice statues on your farm, but I feel like they’re a bit cluttered about at the moment. I think that if you either grouped the statues together, or put them at specific points, they’d look more tidy. Fixing them, along with the paths that sometimes seem to lead to nowhere would really improve your farm imo

I get it though, you’re in the middle of fixing, and I don’t mean to be harsh or anything, this is just what I think, Best of luck with your farm!

Personally I’ve only tried standard and four corners, but I think the forest layout is the best because of the renewable source of hardwood on your farm, and lots of early game wood

You should choose the one you like the most aesthetically. Maybe look up some late game farms and then decide based on how they can look.

I really appreciate the input! Decorative trees is a really good idea, really wish you could build a border around fruit trees though. Was thinking about making a wider path with some green to put the statues along, not sure if there's a lot of green things apart from the house plants though?

One fruit trees are fully grown you can place items and flooring next to them 😊
