My personal favorites are forest and beach farm but they have the smallest planting area, still perfectly enough for me but if you plan on massive planting then maybe not.

I'm a big fan of four corners as you get the best of all worlds, a rock quarry from mountain, a lake with working fishing like rivers, you get stumps like forest and a large field like standard

Also slime hutch allows you to have a little corner with a silly mad science aesthetic. Put a slimejack pond up against the side for "runoff", add some lightning rods and a metal light post, maybe some pine trees to darken the area, et voila.

What does a nice farm mean to you?

I like the riverland map because the little islands parcel the farm into natural territories. If I want I can have coop island, barn island, fish pond island, crop island, slime island (bottom left can fit a hutch), flower honey island, wine shed island, tree island...
If you find it's hard to make space for things like wine sheds, remember that you can store machines in safe locations on many other maps: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Crafting#Crafted_goods_outside_the_farm

Tappable trees will grow readily in many places as well, like the quarry, railroad, and desert, which can help you get around the space problem if you want to generate lots of tapper products fast.

After 22 years and 200 million gold, I am starting a new project on my original forest farm: cultivating giant crops to be permanent decor. The cauliflowers have come in nicely in the northeast spring orchard; next comes melons in the northwest summer orchard, then pumpkins in the southwest fall orchard.

As per usual, upload.farm cannot render my big sheds in the western clearing.

For anyone else who was wondering: mushroom trees throw seeds exactly like other tappable trees: any blank tile up to 3 tiles away in any direction. The only difference is you can't dig the seeds up and replant them, only destroy them. Also, they can't grow to maturity if there is already a mature tree in the 8 tiles around them. So, the easiest way to get started propagating mushroom trees in 1.4 is to let them grow wild until you have a few adults, cut down all the juveniles touching them, and then pave the 8 tiles around each adult. You can further manipulate where seeds fall by paving all but the tiles where you want mushroom trees to grow.

if you type slime hutch in nexus mods it should appear and go to posts tab, there's someone explaining how to convert a xnb mod into a cp ver
