Day 13. Today is the Egg Festival. I've decided to attend after all; I've been holed up on my farm for most of the last two weeks with work, barely leaving long enough to make necessary purchases. It would probably be best to go introduce myself to more of the residents, and even if I skipped the festival to work, I still wouldn't manage to finish clearing the rest before next week. Taking a day off shouldn't hurt.

@nova dune I did this very same farm map a while back. May I suggest doing a day 1 or day 28 of every season however ? The daily timelapse is neat if you have like gimp or a video to put them all together but the captures are overloading the channel imho. When I ran this map I did captures in the 28th of every season and it really out into perspective the amount if progress it took!

You could try continue typing daily (maybe slightly shorted), but have less images (like 1-2 per season). Then you could continue the diary-like thing, but have less posts. This might still be to much text and image idk. @nova dune

You can also go into your options menu, at the bottom there's a camera icon with a zoom level next to it.

Worth noting the "zoom" setting adjusts the image quality (and file size) of the screenshot you take, it will still be your entire farm at 25% or 100%

there is a mod to upgrade unoccupied cabins, alternatively you can run multiple instances of stardew i think and join your own hosted game, claim the cabins, upgrade them, then go back to solo

It’s a new mod that they put on the site, then I downloaded it because I play on my cell phone and I don’t have access to 1.5 things

And I added the new floors and Stone Chest for personal use because their design is very good. Eric is so creative

Yeah I've thought about it before as well, but haven't gotten very far. I'm not aware of any ways to automatically extract the layout background from the mod files and I definitely don't have the time to write the necessary tools myself.

I usually use Tiles to do it manually, but it takes some time and is generally an "annoying" process.

It would be possible to let people just upload the layout images themselves, some of the mod creators have them up in nexus etc.

I see, well that last option could be a way, also to maybe give modders another way of showing off their work. Still, I'm aware it was probably very much just a wish.

I guess one way would be to introduce a "mod" team of sorts and allow some of the more active people here add layouts to the planner. This would probably allow more layouts to be available on the planner despite of how much time I have personally (though it would require knowledge of using some of the tools and etc)

Anyway, thanks for the input, I'll definitely consider this topic further as this has indeed been a pain point of sorts.

Tiled has a feature to save the layout as an image, which is what I do a lot of the time as a farm creator, but for user ended simplicity...

I think it's best to just let people temp upload or use an image they provide to start, as that covers all bases and the game does have a screenshot function if nothing else.

I think you should definitely aim for at least 1 barn and 1 coop To just....test the waters

Slime hutch is optional I believe, but great source of money after a while

I've seen a lot of people build their coop/barn either at the ends (far left/far right) or near the middle, but that's up to you. Another question you want to ask yourself is "How many crops do I want to plant? A ton? or focus on animals?"

Once you get the greenhouse, you can profit on crops and fruit trees without any issues

Top shed is a bar/restaurant I made, the one just under it is a combo of museum of minerals and furnaces for smelting, the ones on the right are Kegs, Preserve Jars, and then Crystalariums

The one on the right is my factory. That's where all my kegs, preserve jars, cheese makers, mayonnaise machines, and looms are. The one on the left is purely for storage and crafting. So there's a bunch of chests and refining machines in there.
