I can still happen if you have rods, what they do is make that chance smaller but your crops can stilm get hit

All I can say is don't forget to pick the batteries up the next morning, so the rods are free and ready for the next storm

If you play on PC and modded all I could recommend is maybe looking up for some mod that prevents the crops getting hit?

I'll log in to my game and show you what I have. It's very simple and minimal, but I think it's cute.

One sec.

So you set one flower in the middle of that and it'll affect all the hives. You can walk around it fine without picking the flower itself.

You could close off one side if you wanted with another hive, and then incorporate a basic sprinkler to water flower for seasonal growth.

I'm a bit unsure about what route to take with my current farm, due to mods potentially making it impossible to use again..

This was my farm last day of Fall

I don't usually go for many animal buildings, just enough for completing stuff (shipping, cooking..)

However, this run was different as I went with like a dozen BFAV animals

Now, this unofficial update causes my ostriches never to hatch. Known bug and all.. Also, as I've learned in using mods, something completely new to replace BFAV is on the works

but, when that happens, I don't know if BFAV animal packs will work or not. Do I sell all BFAV animals and completely change the left side? Do I take the farm as is till I consider it complete and then cross my fingers in case I ever wanna go back?

I particularly like some of the spaces I've created, like they're little spaces of cuteness

Day 3, more clearing. Thankfully the rain helps conserve some energy today so I should be able to get a decent chunk cleared... Not too worried about money yet, or I'd go for Catfish today.

Catfish are a pain, and this isn't a fishing-themed farm, so I'm skipping them. They're usually what I do exclusively on Day 3, but this farm layout is ginormous so I have to put more effort than usual into getting it fully cleared, which is what I prefer doing before I start decorating or planning.

That farm, specifically, is Capitalist Dream by DaisyNiko, but I've tweaked it myself in Tiled to remove a lot of the permanent decorations that make pathing problematic.

I do not, unfortunately. I'm not familiar with any of the more recent farm maps. Beach doesn't have quite the same aesthetic as River farm, and the lack of sprinklers on sand makes it somewhat irritating.

Day 5, didn't get as much done thanks to taking a detour to open Geodes, repair the tide pool bridge, forage at the beach, and drop some things off with Gunther. Parsnips are ready, though, and I didn't actually lose any of them, which is a nice surprise. Tomorrow I'll replant, after I have Scarecrows available and crafted.

Always nice to know someone's enjoying my posts; I'm always afraid they get a little spammy. Wine is going to be a ways off, unfortunately, as I'm really trying to get the farm cleaned up as quickly as possible before I get distracted with other things. I did manage to get my pet though, thanks to forageable items on my way around the Beach and on the way to the Museum.

That's a very good idea, and it's what I did as well. Capitalist Dream is definitely one of the largest maps as far as I'm aware, without being just a massive square of empty space.

Day 6. (All screenshots are taken at the beginning of the day.) 2500g in my pocket from what little foraging and farming I've done, should be enough to pick up another 48 crop seeds and double my farming space so I don't fall too far behind on money.
Level 4 Foraging, level 1 Mining and level 1 Farming so far, which means I can now place Scarecrows as needed. Already over a stack of wood in a chest in my house, despite repairing the bridge to the Tide Pools.

Day 7, not much clearing got done yesterday thanks to the crop expansion, but I now have 24 more Parsnips planted, as well as 24 Cauliflower, 1 Green Bean, and 1 Potato. Yesterday was also the day I opened up the Community Center, so at least part of today will be spent on finishing that detour into the woods for the bundles.

Go to desert trader and get Artifact Troves for Omni Geodes and crack them. I traded 500 of them for 100 Artifact Troves just so I could get Treasure Chests to decorate my Fish shed and other assorted artifacts.

That's perfectly acceptable, you know? Capitalist Dream isn't as common a sight as it used to be, and even back in its heyday it wasn't the most popular map due to most people not wanting huge maps.

I, on the other hand, always seem to gravitate toward the larger maps.

Day 8. There was a disappointing lack of forageable items around the forest and beach yesterday, but I can now access the bundles, and I got a little more clearing done. If I can get a day or two of rain soon, that will greatly assist in clearing out the farm before the end of week 2.

Day 9. More clearing, with a side of more clearing. No rain today or tomorrow either. I may spend part of today foraging in the woods and beach area to make a bit of money while waiting for crops to grow. Alternatively, I may work on clearing the left side of the bottom portion of the farm.

The plan is currently to work heavily with Brewing and/or Animals, as those are two things I generally don't do much of. For the moment, I'm prioritizing getting as much space as possible cleared out, hopefully everything but the stumps, large logs, and boulders gone in the first two weeks.

Day 10. Clint stopped by with the furnace plans after I got a couple of Copper Ore out of an Artifact Spot. A bit more clearing, but most of yesterday was spent foraging, as crops grow slowly and buildings aren't cheap early on. Level 5 in Foraging as well, so I've taken the Gatherer profession, as well as finished the Spring Foraging Bundle.

Day 11. Forgot that yesterday was Wednesday and therefore Pierre's was closed, so I didn't manage to get my Parsnips re-planted yesterday, but that did allow me to get some more clearing done than I was expecting. I may skip the Egg Festival this year in order to get the farm fully cleared out. I also set up a small area that will be one of the main areas for growing grass. Lacking Clay at the moment, so a Silo isn't quite possible yet. Planning to put at least one brewing Shed in the central patch of grass, but currently need more materials. Still haven't gone into the cave yet, don't plan on it until the farm is as cleared as it can be.

Day 12. Yesterday was disappointing in terms of productivity. Returned Robin's Lost Axe and acquired some grass starter for hay later down the line, as well as another batch of Parsnip seeds, but otherwise very little accomplished. Tomorrow is the Egg Festival, and there's still so much work to do here at the farm. I may not get it all cleared out by the end of the week, even if I skip the Festival.
