What are some strategies used to keep trees from spreading? I'm making a lake cabin area, and don't want to cover the whole thing in path.

Some additional path will be put up just below that lower left fruit tree, once it's grown. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions on the whole area. Maybe another tree at the bottom edge, directly below the big rock?

It's not random, it depends on what farm map you picked. That's an image of the standard farm, it sounds like you're playing on the forest or wilderness farm

Since you already have a bunch of sprinklers, I'd say go for cranberries that will be good money, and use the watering time for chopping trees. I'm always short on wood for stuff, and the trees can still regrow in fall, they won't anymore in winter

So i took my custom hilltop farm and added more space to the right (grassy areas above and below the crops will be different in a fresh game). I cant decide if the crop area is too big compared to the rest of the map... (yeah i know the junimos cant get out atm they in time out for over zealous farming while im trying to get screenshots).

standard looks really plain and is kind of boring but it has the most space by far so it's great if you want to build or farm lots of thigns

riverland farm is one of the smallest and most awkward maps due to all of the bridges, but it's relatively unique and charming in appearance and you can fish without leaving home

forest farm has great bonuses with foraging and renewable hardwood but has some of the least farming space (although plenty of room to build on the grass)

hilltop farm is pretty small but very unique and charming like river farm and spawns lots of minerals

and four corners has ALL of them

monster farm is worthless now cuz you can put it's unique on anything

Awh true, despite it all, the riverland is pretty nice, I've been using it since then but it's really small and I plan to start a new farm once I'm in end game but I guess standard is quite plane, I honestly would either go with the hilltop or actually standard- four corners is also a good choice as well-

wilderness farm has one of the most charming appearances, it's like standard farm but smaller and cooler. if you turn on monster spawns then it has more spawns than the other maps

geodes spawn in bottom right, you can fish in bottom left, and you get a respawning hardwood stump in the top left

beach farm is unique, most of the map is sand where sprinklers don't work so it's the hardest map for sure

The beach farm is pretty good if you aren't fully fond of farming alone but crops do give you great amounts of money so it sure is the hardest

but it's great for fishing, it starts with a LOT of hardwood for you to chop down, it has a small patch of 200 tiles where sprinklers do work (once you clear it with upgraded tools), you get random boxes that wash up on shore with items inside, you have beach and forest foragables, and there's a secret decoration hidden somewhere on the map...

My current ||beach farm|| plan, any suggestions? I'm going to intersperse stepping stone paths among the cobblestone paths, I just didn't bother to do so in the plan. I will also most likely have more fruit trees - my normal tappered trees are in the quarry to save space.
