i know i got a similar issue in a case when trying to export farm but when inside
I can't select whole sections of stuff to copy and move around on the planner, right?
No, but you can click and drag to place a bunch of something like paths or grass, and you can hold shift to place multiple of a building without needing to reselect it from the menu
Hey Penny, welcome! :)
Looks like you're off to a good start, although that one scarecrow isn't quite enough to cover all those crops. Unless you have others off-screen :P
That's a very cute layout! It makes the plants very accessible which is super good
Later on in the game you may want to switch to having the rows be 3 tiles tall rather than 1 once you've upgraded your watering can a few times to make watering more efficient but this is a great start
@night eagle glad 2 be here = )
someone stop me from changing my house. I've done 6 updates to it today
i keep thinking of furnishings that can be changed with the seasons
👀 seasonal
yeah!
man i love seasonal stuff,,,, every seasonal mod i see Immediately joins my game lol
spring
summer
even the little pastery/cakes change with the seasons
fall takes out the piano and puts in more Halloween stuff
now im thinking maybe i should put a small hallway between the guest room/ gaming room and the rest of the house so its not open between those two rooms
see i need to be stopped lol
Aye guys. Can anyone share some good design for the normal fam?
If anyone have it, please share it here. :)

@azure briarthanks sir
no problem (:
..
Hello Beta
hallo
that looks awesome, coconut!
^
^^
oooo pretty!
i should really plan mine out, my novelist-farmer isnt really the planning type but i want it to be less of a mess haha
Mine looks empty without crops
It's still a good setup! My farm always looks much worse in winter too
Thank you odin. You're so nice
looks very clean!
Thanks imba. :)
i'd go with left as it leaves more areas for crops and less sprinklers everywhere
the right one would remind me of just sprinklers, sprinklers everywhere
Left is cleaner, yeah
i like left as well
how?
How what? :P
my money im on spring 4 year 1
Name glitch, cjb
no no mods
Thanks CA, very cool
Thanks for the input y'all 😁
he could fix it, like he did on the switch, but I like it better that he didn't
Lol
I've done some rearranging and mod-swaps in fall, and I'm so happy with this
the gold clock is gonna go by the lake, in between the lodges
and the spaces below the silos in the top left are for the water and earth obelisk
it looks amazing
oooooooo
That looks great Ink!
horse def
I'd probably go with a stable, yeah
horse
🐴 makes life go faster
actually id take minecarts for going to the mines and to clints
ew mods
clearly original is the best
unless they add that into the game then yeah sute
tractor is really overpowered tbh
can till and water the whole farm area in a few hours and not use any energy with just steel tools
yeah but you're not going to have iridium early in the game
coffee + pepper poppers > horse
Almost done with new farm map https://imgur.com/a/9nAgGDf
ngl I'd scream if I had to play that map
Need to make the strait walls on the left more interesting plus figure out what to do for the edges on the bottom left and right
It is meant for multiple people
the water source is a little further from the fields than is probably handy, so your people are going to be building Wells early game =P
The river goes down the middle, and there is a second water source to the left near grandpa's shrine. The river actually covers where the old small pond was in the standard farm map. I expanded the map to the right and down and didn't change much on the left
right, but in the standard farm the pond is literally next to the crop planting space, it's five steps away
Then I guess I can add another small pond somewhere
idk, you probably don't need or want my advice, I'm not really a modder
but if I had to speak - I'd put a staircase here:
That is what I was thinking of doing
thats a great idea, soly
Updated it https://imgur.com/a/JaXjlbp
Was thinking of putting it up. I was hoping someone could help me pretty it up on the edges. I still need to adjust the right side bottom cliff, it is too straight
If you also wanna adjust straights. Many of the farms I see, have some grass lining the left wall. Just to prevent over growth (from trees planted on that last time or so)
? For most of it I have grass, some parts no but I marked it as not spawnable so nothing else can grow there
Summer of year 1. With Immersive Farm 2 and modded crops (and Better Fruit Trees so I don't have to babysit the fruit trees' surrounding 3x3)
I'll have to clean up the positioning of the scarecrows eventually but it works for now
thats a nice farm
https://imgur.com/a/xZN6JZx I think this is last update, what do you all think?
I sould say you can remove this slope, since there's a staircase just below it.
this walkway can probably be bigger, too
Is there no grassy step? The oil makes it look a little odd
As far as I saw no there is no grassy step though I can look again. Intentionally made the walkway thin so that there is a little private area at the end
@woeful stratus i like the way you used those signs to indicate which is which
and judging by the amount of recycling bins...
ya like crabpots?
Excellent use of space
A little too cramped, if you ask me, but it's a good setup nonetheless
aesthetically speaking, it's undesirable
but if its for min maxing then yeah this works
also you can plant fruit trees on the green grass for extra profit
I feel dumb now because my farm looks really ugly
can we see? @fervent tartan
I can’t right now maybe in a bit though
nice, cant wait
Ya it’s really ugly though and it’s really empty as I haven’t played the game very long
@hollow turret Yeah I really like crab pots. Got like 10 on the beach and a couple more on the river
The signs is originally something I picked up from playing on other people's multiplayer but now I can't live without it
is there a way to take full pictures of ur farm on switch without a plugin
@winged dragon sadly no :(
i think so too!!
just thought saying it was undesirable was a bit mean shshhs
hey i mean!! if ur having fun u dont need to have the most Aesthetic farm? whats most important is u enjoying the game~~
like, this is mine and its not v efficient or attractive but it works for me u_u
tho im not sure about my fishing farm map at the moment, it's not quite clicking for me yet
i think it’s cute !!
wish i hadn’t chosen forest because i want to the space around the greenhouse
oh and ur modded stuff is so cute
thank u!! im,, kinda obsessed w mods lmao
i got into like yesterday! i wanna learn to make them !
go for it!! there's lots of helpful people in #making-mods-general ~~
i will !!!
@merry olive you can't plant crops on the green meadow tiles to the right kf the greenhouse
oh boo
@winged dragon go talk to robin, select "move buildings", take screenshots of your farm, and stitch them together with photoshop/paint.net
oh good idea
Im on winter year one with the hilltop farm and Im having a hard time thinking of a layout
r/FarmsofStardewValley
hmm okay. Thanks
how do you save the layout which can be used again?
click save then copy the generated URL
you'll be able to use the URL to access the layout again
https://upload.farm/plan/1I2Hb3
If u want a simple crop layout to plant 189 crops
@dapper elbow the have maps here
thank you~
❤
I see all these nice layouts with these paths the only problem is I dont know where I should place paths
You can have 152 crops with that Crop layoutbut with this one you can have 189 crops and it doesnt block your house
Just realised such a useful way to format your farm
If i make it like a grid with big boxes each box can be a different thing
I just added crops for now total of 360 gonna go to sleep gn everyone
Night!
G’nigjt!
I think those boxes are getting progressively less square as you head down
I think they are 2 tiles too wide
Ya they are I wish there was a copy and paste function so I wouldn't have to count each sqaure to make sure they are all the same and i could be definitely sure they are all the same
each sqaure is 13x15 ignore the crops at the top that is just for a tree farm layout so I remember where to put the trees
I remade it
that grass is actually more annoying then I thought it would be
there we go deleted that grass I didnt think it would grow out of control
I just have to figure out what the middle 2 sqaures will be
any suggestions?
and then I may put the farm stuff in those two sqaures at the top right and left with no border
@bitter sequoia Just completed it that was just a rough draft I may add more later
The planner doesnt include Tappers so I couldnt put them on my trees
and I need to add chests
and fencing
but other than that
it is mostly done
and in the lake in the middle at the bottom Im going to prob add some crap pots in order to get things to make good fertilizer but crab pots arent in the planner so I couldnt put them rn
Oh I forgot Junimo Huts
Junimo Huts added
Im probably going to only plant crops that can be harvested multiple times just so It is kinda fully automated and after each time the Junimos harvest the plants I wont have to go and replant new ones
such as Corn
or Eggplant
or ancient fruit
barn animals need feed, unless you are gonna depend only on hay
On that stardew planner website I’m having trouble uploading my farm. I can’t find the file. Do any of you know?
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files if you're looking for your save :)
No problem!
Currently needing tips for the farm
it looks good so far !
I am planning to put the farm plot in the middle
As I'll try to make the small pond below as some sort of like a decor
Then on the right side, would be the barns and sheds
As of the left would be the trees and tappers
@rigid frost if you have no use for the pond at the bottom middle you should add crab pots or whatever they are called in order to get things not only to sell but to make good fertilizer
Huh, I would expect the big beet to have tilled soil under it too, but that looks pretty cool!
I can't place furniture on tilled soil
c u t e
Beets can giant?
I never knew that! I always thought it was only big 3, Cauli, Melon and Pumpkins
its a mod! its a custom furniture item~
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4358
Adds many furniture items in the spirit of the vanilla giant crops.
Ah😂
Our current layout, not sure what else we should do or move.
I'd focus on building a coop next, then a few more crops next season :)
all of our little plots are filled idk why it doesnt show up
But I definitely want some chickens
we have about 8 or 9 plots

So this is the farm I put as my inspiration to my current farm
Rn, I'm planning for the west side and the east side
Wow.. that looks really neat
What's a good way to set up a farm?
A good idea is to buy and build all the constructions you want, and since moving them is free and instant, you can plan where you want things to go based on that
Otherwise making a list of all the functions youd like your farm to have and then distributing space accordingly is good
I'll typically try to decide where I want to put my barn/coop, based on giving them a location that minimises "interruption" to my other stuff
or maximises planting space
that kind of thing
from there I just work
What is the best way to take a photo of your farm
I’m on Xbox so I can’t zoom out
Should I just try overlap screenshots?
to raise slimes
pro tip: it's not a very good purpose
rather, to raise slimes that drop slime balls
Oh thanks lol
Soly what does your layout look like??
mine?
hold on, lemme just-
I play on the switch, so I don't have game screenshots
but this is almost an exact 1:1 recreated on stardew planner (https://stardew.info/)
I think I made a couple of edits but it mostly looks like that
of course, you have to take into account that every player is different
someone like me, I'm pretty focused on earning power in SDV, which is why I went for a crop-heavy layout. I also don't like to store kegs off-farm, so I have a lot of sheds.
440 crops is a lot to handle in single-player, and I don't begrudge anyone who tones down their crop count to a more manageable 200
200 is about the average I've seen in a lot of farms, actually.
Oh pretty
in the end, you have to be the one to decide how many crops you're comfortable with working with
if you're like me, you'll do insane things like this:
orchid there is mostly because mostly nothing else can even go there
about the only thing that fits is fruit trees
and, well, this is forest farm
if it were hill or something I might put a crystalarium farm there
anyway that farm layout is me setting up what I want from my farm aesthetically (flower field in front of house, the general pathways from exit to exit) and making it look kinda good first
then after that pushing as much cash out of that general aesthetic as I can possibly manage without looking stupid
My farm is a claustrophobic mess
I somehow managed to use iridium sprinklers at less than 50% efficiency
Well my old farm at least
it's not always about sprinkler efficiency
if you look at my farm, you'll notice my sprinkler layout is less than perfect
I was actually aiming for a larger crop tile coverage
so sacrificed efficiency for a larger area
Ohh I made a mistake and picked the island map on my first say and there not alot of space to work and I hate it lol
island is... it's usable
I recommend you put the barn/coop on the green meadow tiles next to the greenhouse
Most of it by like the greenhouse I cant plant any crops because of the grass stuff under it
I'm going to end up changing it right now tho lol
you can put your barn and coop beside the greenhouse on the "grass stuff"
mod
Ah. Sad..
Can anyone else share there set up so I can maybe pull a few ideas
r/FarmsofStardewValley
Thank you
What I'm thinking of for my next playthrough. I both like and don't like how square everything is
in your tree grove - the common trees will drop seeds and stop the fruit trees from growing/maturing
Might put some more flooring there then, thank you
@regal shoalthen you prob won't like this layout
Made it a couple days ago
I'mma prob edit that beehive layout and add more
@late temple I like how there's symmetry- I'd add a few more furnaces but I might do more mining
@regal shoal ya I was trying to do full symmetry and for the furnaces I may add 4 like that down the row in-between the other stuff
@slim walrus that's how I am like when I'm building i have to make sure everything is even on all sides and stuff
@slim walrus ya imma remove that bee farm and do a dif desing
Design
The thing isn't big enough which is why it isn't symmetrical right there
Love the idea tho!
what do u guys think? im working on making it have more flooring, lot less dirt
though getting wood is a bit hard
typically you can leave off the flooring for now
until you know how you want to organise your farm
not that flooring is bad
but if you decide to spend more of the space with buildings/crops then the flooring just gets wasted
Lol my stardew valley farm has very different layout to most of the ones above
I might try remake it on stardew valley planner sometime
how do I save the picture?
is there a way to download what I made using the planner?
@hallow orchid to save the plan as a picture, you'll need to click the purple painting icon in the top right and select any of the 'render' options or 'save plan as picture'
if you want to save the plan to return to it later, click the green save button and copy the page URL after it has generated. keep this URL somewhere or bookmark if you want to go back to the plan to edit later (-:
@azure briar thank you
The island farm is not very useful, u don't have space to work with
and that's my first farm
it has the second least crop space surprisingly
but no it's not great
the decor is nice though
river farm was my first one too and it will always hold a special place in my heart
I like the forest farm, gives you a view for your farm
I have the Hill Top and its the cutest with the little river
Wilderness farm needs love nil
*ngl
I don’t use it myself but still a nice layout for the farm
Im just starting so I need to figure out a layout
Yeah I picked hilltop and Im mostly chillin
I like forraging and drowning Sam in soda so he marries me
Can anyone maybe give some ideas?
hm
`Thats their map above
r/FarmsofStardewValley
Then search by flair of what farm you are, then there would be farms
i'd assume its standard farm
i'd offer advice but im not sure theyre here anymore
Just ping maybe?
nah
Well they might check back in the morning
Start of the layout, going to add trees in that top left fenced in area to add tappers, and then offscreen to the left add bee hives and flowers
woah....very organized compared to my farm.
@twilit lintel I'm actually using standard farm
That’s nice
I really like this farm design so far
trying to make my farm look decorative but i dont know how to make it look any better
(You can put flooring under fences if you place the floor first)
So maybe have like stone floor under the fences?
Maybe have fruit trees somewhere
If I go on my pc today, can you dm me the planner of them farm and I might try to do something with it? @carmine arch
oo stone under the fences is a great idea
i need to get some fence action in on my farm
I like the look of wooden fences, but they break in like a month
after you reach endgame you can redo everything in wood fences
golden clock
i like the hardwood ones, but i have mods to make all the fences Pretty~~
ok, scrolled through upload farm and found it
@carmine arch I really like putting in lamp posts to add to the feel and decoration.
I like crops. This winter I'm going to make my farm less crop based and more end game.
Ooo I love it
The only thing I would change is switch your bottom barn and coop
Or put them in a row
Ya this is year 5 and I havn't done to much
I just wanted a bunch of money, that whole tope section of crops are ancient fruits, all the bottom is coffee which gives me around 2,000+ each harvest.
This is my plan that I want for next spring
Ya its a slight pain to get to the bottom of my farm right now, there are really no clear paths, this plan is more organized and less work in the long run
Plus it looks better.
I have harvest with scythe.
That would be painful to harvest probably 1,000 coffee plants.
Ya i probably would have died from frustration trying to do all that manually.
thank u guys!!!
how to get a plan render of my farm in game? i know you can make farm designs on the planner manually but i see people uploading their exacts
or am i just stupid
What platform are you on @sage aurora
There’s a few ways
Pc has it best, others are kinda screwed
For pc either upload your save to upload.farm or use the map image export mod to get it rendered
Other platforms go to robin, ask her to build something, take pictures of each area and attempt to paste them together
mac
https://upload.farm/ upload your save there
#vanilla-tech-support can help you there prolly
on mac there's more hoops to jump through
but its pretty simple
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves will tell you where to find your save on each platform :)
Yeah listen to Odin
Aw, you give me too much credit
Need help with the hill top farm please.. I kinda bad at the design point so does this look good ;-;?
you can click on the purple button in the top right to "Render" the farm and see what it actually looks like!
O! I planned on Samsung tab so it kinda laggy not having it atm now ;w;
after I'm done what im doing i might copy it and render it for you if that's fine
Yes that fine for me ;w;!
I kinda need opinion how to decorate on the path were grandpa grave at
it's a little out of the way, so I'd personally avoid putting anything there that needs daily attention
grass
I thinking about planting some flower on the way it but it doesn’t look good :<
I think so I can’t remember but a button will make a list appear of the items
o awesome! thank you!
that seems like only way
thats exactly what i want, just wanted to count them so i can know how much i need
yep
damn, 1.1k wooden floor
i bet i can reduce that one sec
@kind abyss
how's this look?
maybe a more crop space?
yeah, i have more space in that section
ill add a bit more
should I get started?
i need to upgrade my axe first so i can clear it all out
@kind abyss u mind helping me clear out all my wooden flooring i have down rn?
as MP?
try bombing it
that would also work
I'm 90% sure flooring tiles survive bombs
they dont
i thought they did?
@kind abyss thoughts?
i like it!
how do you do that, though? how do you get that screenshot of your farm like that?
typically on PC you'll use a tool
there's at least one mod which lets you screenshot your farm
i use pc
the other option is to use upload.farm
@gloomy pine this also works https://upload.farm/
on consoles, you talk to Robin, select "move buildings", take screenshots of your farm, and slowly stitch them together.
is there an efficient way to plan your farm or do you just have to wing it and zoom out as far as you can
You can plan it: https://stardew.info/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
as far as farm planning goes - if you're on standard farm you can more or less do whatever
oh wild
forest/river/hill need to pay more attention to where they put their buildings
wilderness is in between
wild i didnt know any of this
but if you're talking about efficient use of space, forest/river/hill need to be much more careful
Yeah, usually by the time I'm using half of the standard map + the greenhouse I'm already rolling in money lol
half the standard map = all of the river map
From there it's just a matter of design and making things look pretty :]
well thanks to both of you! ill probably mess with it on my cheat farm pfff
I've never played river map. Maybe I should. I just feel like I will likely get frustrated with all the bridges and not being able to walk around as easily. e.e
yeah i dont play it bc id get frustrated with the bridges
river is... interesting
I see all the river farm players put their coop and barn on the big central island
and I go "wut"
I... hate barns and coops tbh. e.e They mess up my layouts every time haha. I kinda want to make a mod that puts chickens and livestock underground or something so I never have to look at them.
hahahaha
or maybe makes them tinier
I might use that, I have like 10 different barns and coops on my farm atm and they're annoying to organize
Sometime I will bring in my Switch to a computer and try to remake it
@kind abyss thank you so much! >w<!!!
:3
So im doing an artisan run of the game with a focus on produced goods and i was wondering.. would a farm setup like this be overkill? im actually pretty close to being able to pull this off
wait i just realized im thinking smallterm- but im only just about halfway through y1 winter
sweet summer child
people have literally filled the desert with kegs
680 kegs in the desert
8 is not overkill
you can afford to think a little bigger
or a lot bigger
I count a patch of 8x9 = 72 crops. You can start by tripling that =P
@carmine arch I really like the progress you have made, nice stuff 👍
awww, thank u!
I am a summer child ues- its hard to manage such a bigger farm and those are the sprinklers i have access to. Them days just too short
Also how does one propperly scarecrow lol
I think they only protect 8 tiles (update I was wrong)
it's an 8 tile radius
so it's actually huge
There we go
probably
Researching i shall go!
@prisma sail https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1150
this one has the area for both scarecrows and sprinklers, as well as a bunch of other useful stuff
i dont have shed money as of right now-
Legit going to have to restart a playthrough..I messed up on a level I cannot explain
Specifically, the farm isn’t clear and it’s nearly Y2 winter, still have copper items, and I was stupid and didn’t pick the option for artisan goods being worth more.
what platform are you playing on?
mobile
the thing about this game is that pretty much nothing can be messed up beyond repair
mobile has the 1.3 update, so it's possible to change your perk picks
donating 60 items to the museum unlocks a hidden area in the Valley with a little dog statue. Donating 10k to the dog statue lets you respec your perks, so you can grab Artisan
If it tells you anything, I had 200 melons growing without even using sprinklers 😂
Idk, my farm is literal garbage right now
it'll be worse garbage if you restart though
basically progress is progress in this game
it sounds stupid but it's true
You’re right.
basically, don't feel like you have to restart
My original plan was to get the greenhouse going and put some sprinklers in there, use the seed maker for the ancient seed I have
Or
if it's winter, you can start by pushing down the mines for (more) sprinklers
Use the greenhouse for star fruit and use two sheds for wine
and also upgrade your tools
pickaxe first, because that lets you do mines faster and therefore get more ores for everything else
I have a deluxe barn tho and that’s where I messed up too I think.
I was going for pigs
Truffles
I mean the pigs cost a lot but I figured it would be nice to have that as income
it is very nice
pigs do take like 28 days to pay themselves off though
10 day pig growth, then about 18 truffle days
How much will truffle oil sell for
truffle oil is 1'491 after Artisan
And like when they find a truffle do they have an icon above them?
I don't recall the normal price, but artisan is 1.4, so you can divide by that
no, they truffle literally all day
you can get multiple truffles per day
Oh oh I see
I know wine is worth it too I’ve been using cranberries to make wine because I’m at day 20 Fall, and its decent
it's decent
but cranberry wine is a lot of work
like, a lot
because you get so many cranberries
wine in general works better on smaller numbers of more valuable crops
because you need less kegs to get them all
that's why people grow pumpkins in fall even though cranberry is better from apure-cash perspective
Yeah, I like pumpkins though, they take a long time to grow but they have a chance to combine into a bigger pumpkin, I know I had a pumpkin of mine sell for like 362g, and that’s just one pumpkin because of a random seed
Also, the fairy that will fertilize your crops, does the fairy do it to all of them or just a select few
I would pickle the pumpkins through winter
Winter I usually do mostly mining
You could always do it in the morning ans before you go to sleep
True
I always do the method of the turnips and then buying as many strawberry seeds afterwards whenever I first start
the optimal casual start-of-playthrough is probably 27 parsnips + 2 cauli, then 2 beans on wednesday
Yeah, I meant parsnips my bad lol
Is getting the horse stable good?
I have enough hardwood and money to get it but I was thinking of holding off on that
Soly can you explain why that is optimal start?
horse stable is fantastic
@prisma sail it's basically gaming the crow-spawning system to invest as much of your starting gold as possible while being easy to execute, not painful to water, and springboarding you into strawberries during the egg festival. There are probably better starts, but most of those are super-high execution things for super power gamers.
Basically, planting and growing cauliflower on the very first day of the game lets the cauli finish growing on Spring 13, which is the day of the Egg Festival. That lets you complete the Spring Crops bundle at night after the festival, which rewards 20 Speed-Gro. Using that Speed-Gro on your newly purchased Strawberry Seeds on the night of the 13th lets you cram an entire extra Strawberry harvest into Spring. You earn 2'400g minimally for almost zero work done.
13 Parsnips is just enough to reach Farming Lv1 (for Scarecrows) so the easy strategy is 13 Psnips + 1 Cauli + 1 Green Bean on day 1. Harvest on day 5, then plant potatoes on day 6 along with your scarecrow. Potatoes finish on day 12, which is the latest you can sell them for money on the 13th for Strawberries.
The 27 Psnip strategy... basically one crow has a chance to spawn every 16 crops that you're growing (which is why none of your first 15 parsnips are eaten by crows, ever, and why 13 Psnips + 1 Cauli + 1 Bean on day 1 is risk-free). If you grow only one Cauliflower, one crow can spawn and eat that cauliflower, which is bad. So you grow two. Doing that, the crow would need to spawn and eat two cauli. The chance of that is literally a fraction of a percent, I did the math the other day.
so 27 Parsnips + 2 Cauli reduce risk of losing the Cauli to crows while maximising day 1 investment (which snowballs into more potatoes on day 6, into more Strawberries, into more Blueberries). You plant 2 beans on day 3 so that the crows don't yeet them. That's 31 crops total, so only one crow spawns (a second will spawn on the 32nd crop).
Ahh makes sense
the trick is that this requires a lot of game knowledge to do (day 1 cauli > spring crops bundle > planting strawberries at night on speed-gro for an extra harvest; plus the crow spawning system) but actually doing it in-game is ridiculously easy, it's just a matter of planting the correct crops
it's something that literally anyone can do with no problem
...as long as you know the steps
I didn't know about the crows coming if you have 15+ crops
Really lol
which is why explaining the trick takes so long, but executing it is just "27 parsnips, 2 cauli; 2 beans on day 3; potatoes + scarecrow on day 6; spring crops bundle > strawberries on speed-gro on day 13"
I thought they ame no matter what
one crow has a 30% chance of spawning every 16 crops
something like that
that crow targets ten random tilled tiles in a random order
and yeets the first crop it finds
so strictly speaking, you can till a lot of random tiles and leave them unplanted, which lessens the crow's chance of yeeting a crop
but that's not worth it
I wondering, I used the stardew planner to plan my future farm I will do on Switch, and then I check Slime-hutch, it's really big and I don't know if it's worth to place it on my farm, what can it gives to me?
okay so the slime hutch
the act of building it will cause Marlon to come to your house and give you a slime egg, and from that point on, all slimes start dropping slime eggs
so it's sort of worth building eventually
as for actually using it
Raising slimes in a slime hutch results in "slime balls" which you can harvest from the hutch
slime balls basically give you slime (item) plus a few other assorted unimportant things
like petrified slime (mineral)
check the wiki for details
so the benefit is low
so it's worth it for completing the museum
lmao no
you'll have a petrified slime from geodes long before getting a slime hutch
Notably, you can raise slimes outside a slime hutch
you just don't get the slime balls
so I should just build one to get some objects but that's all?
you should probably build one to make the slimes start dropping slime eggs
which are valuable when sold
after that, there's a very strong case for just demolishing it immediately
here's the wiki article
it's basically not very good, the slime hutch
I see, so I don't put it on my plan, thanks
basically, when raising slimes in the hutch, you get slime (item) from them
so it's not really that good
if you just want to raise slimes, you don't actually need the hutch to do it
the hutch just lets you get the slime (item) from doing so
my goal on my switch version is to complete the game at 100% so getting this object surely is needed, but I think I will demolish it after getting it as you said it was not worth it
soly: "I'm going to get all achievements!"
also soly: "Why don't I have the ancient seed recipe from Gunther"
just for my farm to be a bit prettier I have to place a well haha
for now it looks like this
ah
well for hill farm in particular, there may not be that much else to do with the hilltop quarry
so you can probably afford to leave the slime hutch there, unless you want to build more sheds or whatever
2 is great I think, I don't think I will do this game to be a billionaire or something but completing the game, so one barn and coop (and crops on greenhouse) is good enough I guess
more crops is nice, too
How did you take that?
the plan?
Yeah
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Thank you
I love Forest Farm myself.
slime hutch on top of the quarry is dope af
and late-game you dont really need the quarry anyways
you could put more stuff around it to make it look like a spooky castle
like stone and braziers and trees and stuff
I think you can even buy grave markers
i like mountain/rocky farm
idk wut its called though
i just like it
its cool
lol
Hill-top :)
I just started the hilltop farm, It's not bad
hill top farm is cool :D i really like the forest farm, thats what i always end up using. :) wilderness has a really neat layout as well, but the monsters can be a bit annoying
https://stardew.info/planner/silly-chipmunk-0/ heres my planner! any tips or suggestions?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
@dry fossil don't put the flowers for your bee houses within range of the junimo huts!! the junimos will harvest the flowers and you'll never get flavoured honey
@dry fossil or fence it.
It's just winter seeds in winter.
So I open the gate.
aww the little beehouse square is adorable
It looks nicer in summer or spring cuz of the seasonal pots and surrounding grass :)
Hey, I’m on a dilemma right now, should I make my Starfruit into wine or just straight sell it
I did the wine once already and wow that was a lot of good
Gold^*
W I N E
oki thanks lol
Np!
you want me to put fences around the bee hives?
Just around the flower so the juminos don't harvest the flower
I think that's what he meant
You can always just give it 1 entrance and gate just the entrance off.
Mine don't touch the flowers.
They do if I open the gate which I do in winter.
Spliced my year 6 farm (day 5) farm (Xbox)
Oh rip there’s a weed in the bottom corner
I notice this now...
Oo nice
Might cut down the fruit trees above the barns to give animals more room
That looks great Viz!
Oo thats so pretty
I didnt notice the weed but i love that it mightve taken u 6 years to notice
spent a while looking for the weed
didn't see it
and now I sound like a druggie
It said damage had been done to the farm because of weeds then spent 10 mins looking for the weed 2 days later I find it after I splice the images
OMG viz thats sounds..... beautiful. The irony
@barren lynx
how much do i need to donate
I thought there was a one time amount via paypal, but I can't find it (maybe $5?). $2.50 via patreon (recurring) is also an option.
how do i get a multiplanner room id
Once you've donated you can message hpeinar#9459
You can also message hpeinar with any questions you have :)

Ay yes it does
I love the trees
You could probably optimize the bee house layout but fuck if i know how
Yeah I’m not too sure I even want that many bee houses yet I just wanted the space filled
more trees than i would use but pretty good design i would move things around to fit my liking but its looks good
Could put some bees same place then remove other then fill with shed
Also you prob need a few silos
I didn’t shed at the other side Oof
And silos
Ignore what I said
Summer trees will give you about 5750 profit a day
*fall
Spring will give about 3100 profit a day
Summer gives about 3350 profit a day
Fall seems off in value I redo that one
Fall is similar to summer
About 3350 I think
Why does noone have a mill in their plan? 🤔
Maybe it’s just not worth it
Yeah I'd rather just buy sugar and flour
I dont use either THAT much to warrant a mill taking up space
That being said my original farm has two mills just for the Aesthetic (tm)
one peach tree will get you 3920 per season
and as it ages you can get twice that amount for its iridium quality
but thats long term
the best way to use fruit trees is put them in the greenhouse, for me at least
That being said my original farm has two mills just for the Aesthetic (tm)
Same
I think I used them once :P
don't forget that the peach sapling costs 4000
it does, but it's useless lmao
build one for (1) completion's sake or (2) if you think it's pretty, or (3) as a very fancy, very space-consuming chest
don't build it if you think it's useful
it's like the opposite of useful
Well atleast i need one for the cooking
the stuff is buyable
Mills make my farm look like a farm haha
Exactly haha
Also moving windmills brings more immersion for me like yes.... yes this is a productive farm
I am doing Things
Lmao hahaha you’re right
anyone has cool layouts for the wilderness farm? I’m approaching winter and i think its the best time to move things around thanks
/r/FarmsofStardewValley
okay so i’m thinking about useing the planner for my console account, my thought process was “if i copy the game data to a thumb drive, i should be able to use it on the computer to edit one of my farms”
i’m not entirely sure if that’d work though
Afaik that's not possible, apparently the console save files are structured differently or something? I may be remembering wrong about the file structure part
What console are you zach
How do you guys make your farms like that? It’s like your infrastructure is amazing
The planner helps a lot, but even still it took me until year 5 before I felt like most of my farm was set up the way I wanted it
if you really, really know what you're doing, use the planner, and min max like joja scum, you can be set up by mid year 2
most people do not find that fun
Winter is also always a good time to move stuff around on your farm, just do it organically throughout the year with what you need and then make it nice in winter
Well u can take it off xD
Bomb the ship out of it
Hey so I have a question
Is there a source image or layout for a specific farm?
The layout behind this text caught my eye and i've been looking for it for a while, I know there's a full image somewhere cause I've seen the full image before.
No one?
noooooooo
I like river farm layout but design it is so hard to do 😩
This is how it look like , I’ve no idea how to decorate it suit for my taste.. the space was so narrow
move the water obelisk closer to your farmhouse
how important is the slime hutch to you actually
you can buy slime
To get more oil maker
Wait? He is ?
yup
I only saw him sell solar and void thing
the point is that the slime hutch is basically useless, so if you don't like the idea of raising slimes in the slime hutch, maybe get rid of it
krobus sells a different special item every day of the week
for example, on friday, he sells... iridium sprinklers.
I think he sells Slime on monday
I will definitely check it our
Out*
I don’t like slime hutch either it cover up so much space 🙈
if you like raising slimes, you can do it in a shed xD
only thing is you don't get the slime item
the slime hutch is for the slime item
I don’t like raise them , once I raise slime outside the city and they prevent me dig trash 😩
then just thanos snap the slime hutch into dust
Yesh I definitely will thank you!
@gloomy pine That looks great! Just fyi, https://upload.farm/ does work on mobile if you want to get a single image of your setup
@golden remnant in here
Ok
wow, this is such a great concept! I def need to get stardew on the pc now so I can get some of those mod farm layouts
@night eagle oh thank you so much! I didn’t know it could work on my phone ;w;
Managed to snatched this out!
neato
it's quite pretty, I like it
notice the green meadow tiles next to the greenhouse?
when I was pushing around river farm optimisation ideas, I put buildings there
because you can put buildings on the green meadow tiles, but not crops
so putting my barn and coop there meant I could save my other island spaces for more crops
Yes I do note that
obviously don't feel like you have to do that, it's just something I did because I'm a dirty optimiser
But i don’t like the coop or barn near that place
that's fair
Also I do have other farm layout I like but design it still a tough thing for me
but yeah my belief in massive profits is probably pretty clear to see
True true
This is my other farm
That work good at earning
Most of the barn filled with pig
phewww
36 iridium sprinklers
or is it 37
a lot
36
864 crop tiles
standard farm privilege lol
oh thank you so much! I didn’t know it could work on my phone ;w;
Glad I could help :)
@night eagle wait, planner works on the phone?
No, the planner doesn't work very well on mobile at all unfortunately
But https://upload.farm/, which lets you share a complete image of your farm does
Looking for advice. I am considering making printable maps of each farm layout with a tile grid. I often have down time it would be nice to doodle plans for the farm when I don't have a laptop. It would also help serve as a template for when I map out where regular and fruit trees can be planted (which I don't think has been done before). What is the best way to get a quality image of the blank map for each layout?
.... Odin or hpeinar might now the most.
But I don't usually ping people so.
Maybe wiki might have some?
@oak spear @signal mesa thanks!
Does anyone have advice on how to find inspiration to making my perfect farm? Also I would like to play without mods and collect everything by myself. I tend to place things down randomly and then have to move them in the future. Should I plan out a farm first, then collect items? Or should I play and when I have the resources, start to move things around.
Does anyone have advice on how to find inspiration to making my perfect farm?
https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/ can help with that :)
Should I plan out a farm first, then collect items? Or should I play and when I have the resources, start to move things around.
Plenty of people do either one, I didn't start planning out my farm until year 2, and even then I just planned out a section at a time
always remember that there are no rules for farms!! its what you think looks pretty and is nice in game
the reddit is full of gorgeous farms though
Where's your pfp from Dots?
During winter theres lots of time to rearrange your farm
Try the different ideas you can think of, and see which one fits you best! Some people place crops outside their farm, some put them further away. I guess it depends on what you plant
And then theres stardew planner too so you can plan and see if you can fit everything you're thinking of
Unless you just farm winter seeds
@night eagle a friend drew it of me, for me!!
It looks great!
Some people should send pictures of how they set up their farm I kind of want to see how different people set it up I could use a few ideas
check out r/FarmsofStardewValley
That's a good start @hollow herald! Although you only need one scarecrow to cover that section, they cover quite a large area. And welcome to the discord :)
yeah, when I saw that picture I was like, WOAH
lol i was just about to post and ask a similar question - I'm looking for a forest farm blank template with nothing on it so I'm able to plot - also just wanting a jpg to be able to print and not do it the complicated way if possible please.
I like the formation of trees in groups of 3
Some asked about early game farm setups this is really early but thought would mention
Year 1 summer 2
Some of the designs in here are beautiful
I'll bring my switch to work tomorrow and I'll remake my farm in there.
At the sdv page
I call it flowercore idk I just really like having flowers and wild grass but I also like to be kind of organized lol.
That's an awesome setup Melody! The crystal floor works so well with that building mod
My Greenpine Farm. The forest farm map is kinda cramped but I did my best to stay organized hopefully.
Looks amazing nice job
so many sheds
Anna you can build sheds and barn and coop on the green meadow tiles on the left
I guess you already knew that
Melody, maybe add bee houses to the farm near your flowers?
oh wait those are beehouses I thought they were modded scarecrows
maybe add more bee houses
just like everywhere lol
Is there a way to add the grid on the planner to a grid in your game?
I want everything to line up. I'm afraid I'll mess up
I just work across (right to left)
turn on the auto show hit location and count
I think the plan is to leave some room or even get rid of some beehouses for the fish farm ponds. I don't think I'll focus on farming fish that much so I'll only have one or two but. I think the ponds will add a neat aesthetic that will go along with the "overgrown organic farm" look.
I really haven't made up my mind as to where though.
I have a perfect spot for the ponds.
I just have to demolish an empty shed for it :]
I am SO ready for 1.4 idek where my ponds will go but I will MAKE room
Miner or geologist. Im new to the game.
@lethal whale Personally I go with Miner since it makes gathering bars for crafting much easier. But I'd recommend checking this guide (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=640103954) out which highlights both and the advantages of one over the other. It also advices based on different playstyles.
i want an organised farm but the obstacles and irregular shape of the farming area make it oofity
Maybe instead of arranging the sprinklers 4x4, try a 3x3 iridium sprinkler pattern?
That'd make your farm plots much more scaleable. A 3x3 square of iridium sprinklers can also fit a 5x5 square of quality sprinklers, which helps you keep things consistent from early-game to endgame
Plus, the 3x3 iridium sprinkler pattern is also perfect for junimo huts. Just replace the middle sprinkler with a hut - the harvesting range is perfect.
I rethought some things bc I didn't like that I couldn't see my cat lol. I want to add more decoration but I'm not sure what. Also winter is coming so that will give me time to figure out what I can get at the night market.
Thanks! Another thing I'm considering is replacing the animal path and the path to the spouse area as stepping stone or Crystal... After awhile I don't like how the one I'm using for those now blends into the grass.
Oo maybe crystal to unify it with the rest?
I like the blue
Esp w the japanese buildings
yeah that looked the best, honestly. now I'm just gonna need to grind some winter seeds out so that its not as barren
think I'll put another knight by the slime hutch if I can find one this year lol
Oooo
You may want to reorganize those iridium sprinklers so theyre more efficient
That chest heart is so cute!!
Whats up with the gravel area in front of the stable?
I think the gravel area is just to make it look like an irl horse pen, and it really kinda does. If it wouldn't ruin the aesthetic of my building mod and I was doing vanilla I'd do it too, looks neat even if not very useful. I like making areas that seem kinder to the animals, which was my whole reason for moving stuff so my cat wasn't blocked, lol.
i know this is really late to the show but i did something like this, though it isn't optimal, it is easy (i have problems not going full munchkin)
Any reason why you could place sprinklers on the same tile as the junimo hut in the planner?
nup
though can't in game
just like junimo huts in planner can be placed on tiles though cant in game
kinda
Can they harvest the majority of crops in one day?
takes like till 5pm for all of its range?
maybe?
I don’t know what happens during the day but once I get home after running around the town/in the mines, all my crops would be harvested.
Aww man, I messed up with the planner
Is there a program I could use to move my year old peach tree?
your axe?
I don't want to destory the trees I placed
I have 12 peach trees and wish to rearrange it since I should have a different position for the junimo hut
Is there a program I could use to move my year old peach tree?
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1342
But do they get done by that time?
Yes, junimos will harvest all the crops in their area by the end of the day
hey don't overwork your junimos
