PC!
Damn π¦
@hexed tangle found anyone to fill it in yet?
There's nothing wrong with Riverland, it just takes more planning
which is why people don't like it
That's fine, but it's not awful :)
My main save is Riverland... I love the save, but it was too late when I realized the map itself is not great... it requires immense planning, and however pretty it is, it is a real bitch
The immense planning has been my favorite part so far, though if I could go back I'd probably select Hilltop.
Especially because it doesn't actually add anything like the other farms do.
It gives you mineable rocks on the south west corner
and (i beleive) a fishable river
hilltop is by far my fav, if it had monsters like the wilderness farm it would be perfect
that can also use crab traps
You can actually enable and disable monsters on any farm map, but unfortunately not until after completing the community center
ah
So much of this farm has like, random un-tillable areas, too.
which one?
Fishing farm
i think forest is worse than riverland. there are so many un tilable areas ugh
I have to use a mod on my Forest Farm for spots
i'd disagree, you can always build on the un tilable areas and can plant trees on them to make use of the space so id say theyre about even
(@turbid ledge You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@turbid ledge but still.. especially in the beginning of the game these untilable areas will annoy you, since you have to plant a lot of crops for either the cc or for making money. On riverland you can at least build everywhere you want on the little islands...
hey all could i get some feedback on a farm i'm planning? i'm not quite satisfied with it but i'm kinda stuck
oh this picture is tiny h/o
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
i want to challenge myself to do a farm with no crops planted outside
but the upper left & bottom right areas aren't really satisfactory to me yet
the upper slime hutch is a standin for the sauvignon in stardew mod building which lets you put casks in it
the shed by the greenhouse & pasture will be for machines that process food, the sheds near the cabins will be for general storage & crafting machines
i wish the forest farm didn't have so many random lakes in it, it would make the orchard part way easier
Nvm I figured out what I wanted π https://upload.farm/plan/1GLUdG
I would suggest
Less trees
More crops
You can plant trees elsewhere/outside of farm
I want to challenge myself to do a farm with no crops planted outside
I wanna see if it's viable & how long it would take to work up to not having any outside crops
Best bet if you're doing that is PIGGIES
Definitely piggies
For bottom right. Fruit trees? Crystallarium? Kegs and beehives(flowers count as crops?)
I ended up just rearranging it & placing more fruit trees
I'm gonna end up having more of the more profitable fruits like pomegranates
If you're playing with other people, they might want stables as well
Pomegranate and peach trees are the best, which is nice because you don't have to plant the same exact tree type everywhere
Ye
I don't actually know if I'll be playing with other people but there's stable room near those cabins if we need it
Otherwise the cabins will just be aesthetic
J
(@mighty steppe You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Tada. 371 kegs in the Quarry for my 31 Fruit Trees & 77 Hops in the Greenhouse
So the weathered wood = keg?
Yeah
thatβs a good idea
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
am I missing anything major I should have on there?
you dont have much crops space
I will use the Greenhouse for that
I tried it in game, and it does fit. I am debating dropping 4 crop spaces to surround it by pathway instead
I do think I have all the important buildings though
Yea
Don't forget your trellis crops and flowers will need scarecrows as well
will fruit trees increase in quality if there are paths in there 3x3 area?
No, they will stop at the quality they are when the path is placed
ok thanks!
what do you mean stop at the quality they are?
Every 1 in-game year from when they reach fully-grown they'll produce higher quality fruit, unless something is in their 3x3 radius
Oh, nice
those warp obelisks are way too far away to be anything useful
i'd say put them fairly close to your house
the gold clock is fine where it is
also those beehouses sometimes don't even touch the flowers
also might want to be more consistent with the path type, but thats less of a problem and more of a personal preference
i guess with path
i just do wood as main
stone as secondary
and weathered wood for designs
i usually do a mix of cobble and crystal since they look similar
crystal for guidance and cobble for anything not major
something like this for the gold clock can look pretty nice
nothing fancy
I think you may have used a lot of space for the animals (since they really dont need that big of a space anyway) and the silos, maybe put them together so you can use the space for something else (more crops or space for coop cabins?)
Eheh
If you intend on doing coop, but still regardless I like that little flower patch going on there
Wait hold on, is this in the actual game?!
(@wary bough You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
I really love the colors during fall, everything looks so calming ;w;
Also, thanks~ I didnt know taking screenshots of your whole farm was possible so I didnt read on it
I was really liking winter.
@delicate cedar I was looking at your plans for the Wilderness map. Overall I like it! There does seem to be a lot of wasted space though. The silos are a great example of this. Are you using mods? If not, then you do have some grass and flowers growing on non plantable spaces. You may consider rearranging some things to maximize space a bit. Like sliding the sheds over to the right to allow for another fruit tree. Or putting the jumino huts in the middle of your crop column.
What is the plan for feeding all those animals over the winter? If you dont want to buy it all then you may consider making space for a hay "field". You might also plan out what is going in those sheds and whether you need all of them.
@rigid grail I plan on decorating the empty spots with decorations. I just don't know what yet. I plan on cutting bits of the grass the animals are eating to fill the silos. What do you mean that they have wasted space though?
I figure some of the grass and such is in unplantable spots, I just filled in all I could with grass. No mods.
The stuff in the shed I do kind of have plans for, but know I may take 2 of them out for more fruit trees. I do also have some plans for normal, non-fruit trees in a few spots so I can tap them. I have played around a bit with rearranging the jumino huts, but I keep putting them back how they are because I like the look of the multiple 5x5 rows of crops
i love the fall colours
@delicate cedar I don't have much time before work but I tried to throw a few things together. The wasted space are areas of decreased inefficiency where you can't be decorative. The silos are a great example. Since silos are tall, having space between them vertically is wasted. Same with the Fruit trees in my opinion. Something else to consider is that your farm is not horse friendly. To travel up and down, horses need a clear width of two tiles. Here is a brief cleanup of what I mean. https://upload.farm/plan/1GNd1p
If I were to take things I step further, I would probably rearrange things to be a little bit more like this. I left spaces blank/open to show where you can add stuff. I also moved the Slime hutch down as sometimes the game can be funny about building on the upper edge of the map. https://upload.farm/plan/1GNd23
I'll take a look when I get home. I know I could condence a lot of stuff, but I prefer being able to walk to each individual building. I do have to redo a lot due to the 2 space needed for horses...
Thank you!
And certainly don't let me tell you how to enjoy SDV! :)
I appreciate your input, and you do have some stuff that I like the look of and will take. Someone else mentioned the issue with having my warp totems so far away, which I haven't gotten to yet so haven't had the issue of.
Nametags?
like tooltips but for players?
theres a new mod to add roosters and bulls time to squeeze another barn and coop into my animal farm >.> i got the barn in.. the coop...still working on
Aww that's a very cute farm
pretty
Nice animal farm. You modded out the lake?
looks either custom map or modded out yeah
its Phoenix's Farm map
does anyone have a nice layout for the mining map? i chose it for aesthetic reasons but now i'm regretting it because of the space... but i'm also in too deep and i don't want to start a new file
I don't have the layout I used saved but I use the big lower portion near the quarry for crops, and the little areas for buildings and animals
But it's not great for trying to plant as many crops as possible
It's a good map for lots of animals and trees
if you want to mod, I'm liking the 20x20 greenhouse mod and I think there's even a 50x50 out?
edited my map to add pathing, changed some of the fencing around the pet house, made room for the new roosters and bulls (to use roosters and bulls edit the config.json and make sure you don't have animal chooser installed).
@dusky leaf I just started on the Hilltop map! It is definitely challenging. I can't say I have things figured out yet. The only thing I have planned out is where tapper trees are going...
@obtuse ridge how did you screenshot the whole farm? π¦
Map Image Exporter (mod): https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073
Upload.farm (website, doesnt support modded things(eg. doesnt show modded buildings or recolors)): https://upload.farm/
or things like the tractor
The upload.farm doesnt work for me, I tried it last night and it says that the domain has been taken down or moved to a different address once I tried and uploaded my farm. But Ill try this mod, thanks!
well it works for me
Are you sure you had the right one? https://upload.farm/
https://stardew.info/planner/foolish-robin-36/ this is what i eventually want my farm to look like in my current save. am i missing anything important? (i created the plan myself)
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
hello
you don't have a stable yet?
i dont but i think i added that to the plan
oh yeah
yeah i put the stable right next to the exit to town
i'm just blindβi'm sorry
from what i can tell i got the spacing of the junimo huts, scarecrows and everything just perfect which makes my ocd happy
@sage palm you can put more trees closer together, will look ugly but more space for more trees!
i dont think i need more than 2 of each tree
my first world only had 2 of each and i was fine with it so thats what i put
Hehe I have about 15 of each cough
I like to hoard >.>
You could also add an area for honey!
ive never really used honey and i dont think its worth the space required
It's so large I have to use a time freeze to harvest crops π
what mod do you use to zoom out like that
Sounds like you could use some junimo huts
I use the Map Image Exporter mod to create a total farm picture (and farmhouse, and any other location you want a picture of). It's great! https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073
@jolly summit yeah, I've been struggling with how to fit them in the layout to make them look pretty. I wish there was a mod that let you set the area Junimos covered - much like the awesome Better Sprinklers mod that lets you set the area for sprinkler coverage.
Can't https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2221 do that?
OH! well, thank you @night eagle
What's that farm layout?
@acoustic hinge mine? It's one of Ace's Expanded Farms here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/988 - I'm using CherryBlossonhh Forest map. There's also an MTN version of Ace's farms but I haven't gotten around to MTN yet.
I love them, and they are all ENORMOUS
I use some of those farms too.
This is my current farm, the Junimo hut isn't there yet but otherwise accurate
Looks good! You probably will want a few more lightning rods though
yeah batteries are a bit of a hold up
also need the travelling merchant to sell me a large milk so I can greenhouse
so is there a mod i can use to edit my map? tIDE doesn't work and planner isnt wat i need
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071 will let you import your plan into the game
does this work on an existing map that im trying to remove certain terrain features? like tht creator put in some bushes that are in the way of things
Oh sorry, I misunderstood what you were looking for
That mod won't really do that, but I know there are mods out there that will
I don't really mod much, so I'm afraid I'm not much help
if i havent created a new game will i be able to just port the map i want to use and edit stuff out? or is that not something i can do?
Honestly, I have no idea. Someone in #making-mods-general will almost certainly know though
i tried asking but within 5 mins chat exploded
You can always ask again when the chat slows down, or someone else might pop in here that knows
@gleaming echo i used tiled to edit maps
im not getting any picture just a grid :/
you need to get the tilesheets
prolly paths and Outdoor_spring
once you put those in the folder where you are trying to open the map from you should see everything π
im not sure i understand :/ i tried to open the spring_outdoor tilesheet from my toned sdv mod but it keeps crashing or it asks me to save over it
i've only used tiled to edit maps i dont know of any mod that will do it perhaps jessebot can help you? he's a master map editor
im just trying ti remove some bushes in the middle of prime workspace = =
chicklet isnt working anymore
Heey is just started with the planner but it is possible for the buildings to be shown in full size?
I keep getting these half ass buildings
@warm linden
Same for trees btw
(@mortal locust You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Like this π
you can see the full size after rendering
They are supposed to be "half-ass" because it only shows the footprint of the building for easier planning. If you wish to see in-game like rendering, there is a purple rendering menu up top on the right (only works of official maps)
Yea I realized that later thanks π
It shows the hit box
For those who have asked me to help them design an animal farm: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3319
https://upload.farm/static/images/6/1GNM27/1GNM27-m.png So, any good?
Could use some advice. Well seems kinda missplaced tbh, and then there's this bottom right corner.
Any ideas how to utilise it?
it looks reeeeaaally nice imo
id recommend putting something in the little areas to the left? like your barn, or a coop
i just shove a lot of trees to the bottom right and put tappers on them, its a hard area to utilise properly
Lightning rods are there. protecting grass starters. barn is indeed for animals. Now that I think about it, I probably should swap it with the well.
Just remembered about junimo huts. Crap.
lemme guess. you can't rotate junimo huts.
Fuck...
https://i.imgur.com/SUoUqAV.jpg Upper farm? Works perfect. Lower one? Well, shit.
Hmm. UNLESS I'll destroy this road...
Gimme a sec.
something like that, yeah.
Well, Guess it's another busy winter. And I just finished it too.
There's always room for improvement it seems.
Guess I can put the barn back where it was. Moved it cause thought it'll be even less space. Turns out it's quite the oposite.
Are you planting grass starters for the animals also or are you keeping them indoors?
grass starters. more rep. I can fit some rods next to a barn between farms. That won't be the problem
And I guess where the barn is right now I could put coop there. It's smaller, would fit better. Up there next to a greenhouse, I don't think that would work
Right now it does, cause there's plenty of grass and space, but after expansion presented above dunno. It might not suffice
btw would those junimo huts even work?
Wiki says something about blocking the door. Would crops block the door?
With sprinklers everywhere well's purely decorative. And Coop needs access to tiltable soil.
or does it... never tried planting starters on normal grass.
Just assumed it wouldn't work cause it clearily doesn't want to spread over it.
Hello! Iβm new to the game. What are the best planning strategies for new players?
@gloomy pine you can plant grass starters on normal grass, but it won't grow or expand beyond where you planted it. I tend to just replant grass starters at the end of the season wherever my animals have chomped away.
Welcome Wootsya! There's not really much you'll need to plan out at the start, just focus on planting what you can afford and working on quests
just keep in mind plants with sticks to grow on can't be walked through like the rest so don't do what I did and make a solid 4x4 grid of them
Anybody have good farming designs for regular farms?
Like a space designed for farming
A farm designed for farming crops to be more specific
have you checked the subreddit r/FarmsofStardewValley? you can sort by layout
I got some great ideas there for my first layout.
Oo, never heard of that sub either, thanks!
it's already a mod
I'm not sure there is a best option, it depends on what sort of look you're going for
Personally I don't like covering huge areas of a farm with paths, but I don't dislike any of the actual path types
i love weathered floor. couldn't tell you why lol but it's my favorite
created a little meditation room in my house π
oo thats pretty
I love the wooden path, mainly cause I love the fall aesthetic lol
does anyone have any map-mod recommendation? currently i am using Immersive farm 2. it's really great! but it's too big XD
(i'm asking on the right channel right? since it's farm planning related ._.a)
i... think this is meant slightly more towards the stardewplanner website and planning
if nobody helps or answers here, try modding?
ok!
Doing an 11x10 pixel maze is had, but I think I have a decent layout https://stardew.info/planner/odd-moth-2/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
@void trail you could.... Use my maps π
I saw your map! Itβs lovely XD but it doesnt say that itβs compatible with content patcher? @fallow osprey
Oh I could make them compatible if you want one!
I think my standart one is CP compatible, check the optional files. I prefer using MTN than CP honestly tho
Im also working on a new project, if you got suggestions I'm all ears!
so I just need to copy the MTN and your farm to the mod folder?
Yeah!
ok! i will try it!
I hope you like it!!
What is stardew planner? π
it's a great website where you can design your farm
Wait so... If I want to show someone what I want my farm to look like long-term I can use this????
@atomic dust why didn't you ever tell me I would have just done this π€£
Oof it's not super mobile friendly, is there plans to make this into an app in the future? Cause that would be super cool and useful
Yes, that's one use for it
There's no plans to make it mobile friendly as far as I know
If I start a layout in regular but want other people to help or see it and give feedback or whatever how do I change it to multiplanner?
You can use the purple render button in the top right to share your plan
Or you can save it and copy the planner url
The multiplanner is more if you want to plan a farm with someone else simultaneously
Gotcha... I'm just still new to the game I think I've had it for a month now? So I'm not sure of the best way to do some things and would rather have someone who does be able to be like I see what your doing but this is better because whatever ya know?
Well, you can share your farm plan here for feedback :)
Sure? It's not done π and idk what to do with like a whole half of my farm and this is hella long term like right now I don't have jumino huts but I should in a year? Maybe π
I'm on year 5 and I still haven't used all the space on my farm :P
The great thing is there's always time
I use it for long term plans but I know i'm not gonna get there for years
My plan crashed while I was becoming a patreon ππππ
I was almost donnnneeeee πππππππ
That really sucks :(
Do you have to do anything with the golden clock? Or can I just put it in a corner π
I also don't know what it does π
Stops weeds trashing your farm, and fences decaying, IIRC... And can be put anywhere.
Thanks!
alright so this is what im thinking?
sooo, top three left barns for kegs, idk what a slime hutch is for but its gonna go there, oak trees in bottum left to make all the kegs obvs then maybe expand it to a row for each fruit tree once im done, animals in bottum right, farm in middle right and a house for each person and if im running late i have a house there
@atomic dust whatcha think >.> this is what i want long term idk how to do sprinklers i may just do normal ones instead of iridium so its even cause it will bother me a lot xD
@karmic bolt If you're unsure of the sprinkler ranges that they water, you can always refer to the wiki (I tend to do that for scarecrows if I'm not using the planner)
Seems your style though
the planner shows where they go, i just cant get it to cover every row and be even so its annoying
I know the feeling, but sometimes you gotta suck it up or think of something else
Since you can't mod the sprinklers on switch
hence the second teir instead of iridium xD
Well if it works, it works!
Don't forget lightning rods and maybe horse stables for everyone
ih i did forget the stable thats what i filled the whole with before!
is there a way not to have to click on the sprinklers each tim to place them?
Hold shift or control when placing them
oh thank you β€
oh my bad >.>
ummm so bees? are those useful and needed? cause i can do bees in the bottum left
k and then i have 0 idea for left side >.>
you may want more than 3 beehouses on your farm.
If those barns at the top left are for animals, a grassy area near there for them?
Lightning rods somewhere? Trees?
Nothing is "needed" in the game, but bees are pretty cool. You'll want some flowers nearby so the honey sells for more
There are plenty of flowers at the bottom, with only 3 beehouses. One flower can serve many beehouses, so that arrangement seems a bit strange.
i dont know how bees work sorry, there are lightnig rods around the shed and house in bottum left and along the bottum wall by the pink trees, the barns in top left are for kegs (2) and preserves to make wine and jelly the 4 silos should hold enough gras for a while, the barns and coops in bottum right are for animals, on barn for just pigs the other for 2 of each i believe is what i currently have, then the coops for chicked ducks ect idk the ratio ill have for those two yet as idk whats the most profitable, if its dino eggs one coop for ust dinos
idk what the slime hutch does either but if i build on thats where it is going xD
Ah, yes, hard to see those rods on the preview
i would do grass in the spring to fill the silos for the yrea i think annoyingly if you put starters in the farm they ust eat it before it can grow and idk how to stop that :/
Put fences or lightning rods on top of them, I think is the normal way...
on top of the grass starter?
Yeah
whaaat all the new things im learning ugh ive wasted so many starters xD
Or put a fenced area for the grass to grow, and only allow the animals access once there's enough
(Place grass and then a rod on top)
how many seeds do seed makers produce? like how do those wrok >.>
1-3 per whatever you put in, but sometimes you get mixed seeds instead
oof so not super worth it? whats a rare seed grow?
I would say they are worth it
In general you'll get more than you started with
You just need to have more than like, one of something for the odds to average out
Rare seeds grow sweet gem berries
so my plan was to do peach/pomegrante in the greenhouse with hops and starfruit >.> should i do rare and ancient seeds too or?
Rare seeds are a pain, you'll need one for a quest, but otherwise I wouldn't bother
My entire greenhouse is ancient fruit because I don't want to have to replant stuff
Starfruit is technically a better crop though
and more when you age right?
alright, barns in top left for wine (2) preserves, and then one for oil/mayo split changed bees idk if thats better? added more rods and some crystalriums (i took gemologist and whatver makes them sellf for more) then just kind of gotta decide what to do with the left side?
for bees, I like to place a sprinkler in the middle, surround with flowers and then the hives on the outside
because when you go to collect you don't accidentally pick the flowers up
Pretty happy with how this farm turned out. Ive got tons of new animals to fill all those coops/barns
i had to take away some of the pathing near the winery/slime hutch. The game didnt like building with the path right up to the front door π¦
Oh looks nice
I should look into graphic mods, my farm is a bit of form over function atm π
And even then lol, still need to add lots of buildings and clean up
That looks great!
@gloomy pine check out these wicked layout planz
How do you take a full farm screenshot?
https://upload.farm/ for pc and ios players, https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/? for pc players if you use mods
still in progress, but what do you think? im aware grass doesn't grow near the coop/barn, but are there any changes I could implement?
well you have everything
Looks good! Don't forget a scarecrow to cover the flowers
Dear planner people
who like their farm neat and cute
does having so much path bothers you?
because honestly, in this area, you could only plant fruit trees, and only 2 or 3 I think D:
having pathing like that bothers me. i prefer neat pathing
visually its great but in practice it would be less great
In lieu of a mod that lets you place/remove that kind of path yourself... Could someone plant long grass on that area to hide the path they didn't like, and put their own crafted pathing where they wanted it?
you have path grass mod actually to do that
but hm
yeah
you got path grass mod :0
let me show you
that's what I use on vanilla maps ^^
but you can also plan long grass everywhere
i make my tiles to be all diggable/plantable
Then I don't see any problem really.
!!! okay thank you!
Plenty of stuff that could be put in that area, and even more if whoever doesn't mind getting in the way of the path.
yeah! Okay thank you!!
hey everybody, im struggling to fill the two big dirt patches for this farm - anybody got any ideas that could be used for it? would one side of it being an orchard better than just planting space? more grass? not sure what i might be missing
dont worry about those stumps, its just to mark the spawn points
I guess one side crops and orchard.
Other side. Pure pigs. Should be pretty fun.
(map also looks pretty cool)(I like it)
Dumb dumb question, but the planner is just a planner, not an actual map editor to save and upload to the game in any way right?
yeah, im just asking for input on the farm im making through tiled, since this channel seems to have a lot of ppl who know how to make some good farms
yeah the planner can't actually affect your save file in any way
hi im e
hi e
hello
@karmic pivot If you want to use the planner in that way, you'll need this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
And welcome to the server!
@night eagle Cheers π I have this tab open too https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/127 now gatta figure out how to use mods lol
Welcome welcome
Drew that farm looks hella
Are you going to post it as a mod on nexus? I kinda want it
No problem. I'm you could find help in #making-mods-general if you have any questions, but the overview on the wiki is the best place to start: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started
stretch my leg real far hey can I ask my fellow players something
raises leg real high whats up
unhinges leg whaddya need
i do, and i would probably use it! although i did see when you had the river curving around and i thought that was neat
u r allowed to say "i fucking hate this ugly path"
looks pretty good although i wouldnt say its unique, but thats not in a bad way
i'm the sort of player who doesn't worry about optimized space, though
yeah same that's why im always worried
i think with some interesting stuff on the left/bottom sides it'll be a really cute map
aha! yeah
it's maybe a little inconvenient that you can't get easily from the north entrance to the cave & greenhouse, but i'm sure i'd get used to it
yeah :v
also incredibly small nitpick but it looks odd to me to have the treetop texture on top of the hillside tiles
i don't know how to describe it better than that. the impassable area on the right
oh! not the single tree, i mean
hmmm...
the area that juts out, where the stream comes from. the walls of it are stone hillside, but the top of it is treetops
Oh i see okay
again it's not a big thing and it could be your design choice!! but i wanted to point it out
no ofc i accept all kind of criticism
not the "i think it's ugly" with nothing else but
yeah
as long as you tell me why (look unatural, etc) idc
It looks good, but I don't see the farm warp statue
I'm about to go into Spring Year 2 and this is going to be my farming layout (I do have barns and coops and stuff but this is purely for farming)
...why did you wall off the pond? does that prevent things falling inside?
for the looks and in case that happens
yeah on mine too but... I've always sort of built around the ponds... closing off regions with fences
sorry!
where you've got the tree tiling right now, that inaccessible clifftop @fallow osprey
Is there any thought on making the planner have a file download for the farm you created?
like download and put into savegame and have it automatically load ingame or something I guess?
unless it's like "save image of this so I can reference it later when I'm making my farm"
but it already does that?
mmmh.. I should make or find a nice map to play on... but I barely started on my current savegame
I want big and easy plan... have the planner open now on the first easymode map
i need some ideas my farm is toooo boring rn
r/farmsofstardewvalley
best subreddit imo
ngl i wish there was like an app on the google play store for this, even if it was super simplified
@quasi sage for what? Reddit?
No the planner
Oh!
The planner is extremely uncomfortable for mobile
Yeah, the planner isn't great on mobile
@gloomy pine Are you looking for a way to import a farm from the planner into the game? You'll need this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
my smapi is outdated and I cba to update it or download a new one since I forgot how to and stuff :c
https://smapi.io download new version, install.
am I missing anything here?
while youre at it with the earth totem you'd probably want a beach one as well
also maybe more pathing but thats just personal preference
could put it right under beach one
and yeah I used to do paths but... well I could
Lightning rods?
hmm, right, I can sprinkle those around I guess? or should I just put a few in a spot somewhere?
don't really know how lightning works in that way
yeah, or near the middle pond
Personally I'd recommend a lot more beehives and a lot fewer flowers since beehives are more profitable, but that's up to you
thought bees worked similar to junimo huts... alright so that's a bunch of bee hives around a couple flowers... minimize cost in seeds
@gloomy pine do you have gates? I don't see any
gates go into fences where I want them to be... it doesn't really make a big difference
ah got it, carry on then
I'm using it as more of a "hmm if this goes here... and that goes there... what do I do with..."
also I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using the mod where all 8 rarecrows mean no crows
then I can put them anywhere and it won't interfere with the rest of my layouts
The person who thought up that mod is a genius
It's like the 6 infinity stones only for birds
I mean I think CJB Cheats allows for "byebye crows" too but that's cheating
Yeah the rarecrow approach is more challenging because you have to collect stuff
and besides, who doesn't collect the Rarecrows anyway?
i collect a few and then i just give up
I only saw it now but thanks for the smapi link @sudden cove
I think I had 6 of the rarecrows after my first year, and I gave up on the fall fair one so that would have been 7 and the 8th is the Qi casino
i dont collect them, mostly because the scarecrows all scare the shit out of me
...oh no im a crow
Poor bee
Saw that the beta introduced more languages! I'm really hooked on Stardew again and have played 40 hours in the past 3 days hahaha. Anyways, It would love to play it with my little sister but we're both Dutch and she doesn't understand English that well... I'd love to help on the Dutch translation on the game if it is something you guys want. Message or mention me when answering β€ Thank you
Wrong channel... Try #stardew-spoilers, but it's likely no one relevant will see your message... Probably better to post on the forum or something.
Ah okay! will try thanks :D
@frozen nova You could also post on the Reddit thread where ConcernedApe announced the new languages, he's probably looking at it for feedback!
Ill try Reddit instead yeah thanks!
(@frozen nova You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Welcome to the server Roci! I agree with E, that thread on the subreddit is probably the best place for CA to see that
Welcome to the server, its really nice of you to offer
Hiyas, am I wasting farmable space by putting hives/flowers/trees just south of my house here? I feel like trees for tapping and wildflower honey would be more profitable than whatever crops I could put there https://upload.farm/static/renders/1GRsvX/1GRsvX-plan.png
Yeah I was looking through other screenies on here, I think I might fence off the top hardwood area
Cause I'm savin up for my barn now
If you don't mind the animals wandering around, you could let them into the area where the tall grass is growing
Oh that's not a bad idea either =]
That will double by letting them eat that instead of hay
yeah!! of course it won't work on rainy days but it's nice
that makes sense
I need some feedback from our dear community
I am making an ORIGINAL map. It's made to be pretty more than actually be used as a farm
feedback
I am still making the beach diggable to plant some crops. Do you like the little squares?
(im gonna ask in modding as well)
looks good !
i also really like the idea of a secret beach/pond area surrounded by trees , very pretty
thank uuu
it's for drew and I's friendly contest
we're making a spooky beach farm
@gloomy pine we'll need a strawpole to see whose is better
i genuinely cant wait to play this map
Amazing
Omg!!
@craggy bridge π
Guess this should be posted here,
I recently played around with garden pots in the barn and i found you can fit about 100 in the barn comfortably. In this pic, the black is the border od the delexe barn.
Brown/grey tiles are occupued space.
Red tiles are garden pot plots
Green are chests.
Orange is for the auto collector.
Yellow are cheese press and silver is the heater.
Let me know what your thoughts or questions are ^_^
The top one was my first design but I'm thinking i like the bottom one better as it is easier to get around with it
With the bottom design, why not shift the columns one to the left? Then you could line the right wall as well
I mean. For min max. There's a lot of spaces you can fill.
I want a good plan to build a farm
Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/farmsofstardewvalley !
r/FarmsofStardewValley
uber did the reverse
uber literally did the reverse
THANK YOU !
Good luck! And welcome to the server π
What looks better
(@rugged wolf You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Hmm those are both very good
The bottom layout has more space for animals and crops, the top layout seems more focused on trees and sheds
Top one looks familiar....
Is a very good word for me
beautiful
thank you
@night eagle sorry i didnt respond sooner, the reason i didnt is because i wanted the space directly in front of the door to be unobstructed and i was trying to see if i could get 100 spaces downnthat were easily reached so im happy with that set up
Hmm idk zola its kinda small
get zoom mod π
ππ so tiny so small
hey what do y'all want on this map
we got: small area on the bottom right for another player
that's it
a pond might work somewhere in that big empty area?
can we get uhh an orchard
preferably in multiples of 6
Where is small area for other player
The left side seems empty π
Maybe do a vertical line for an orchard
So you keep that big empty space for crops or w/e but balance out that side
β€β€ it still looks amazing tho gj
If you're looking to fill it out. Barns, sheds, even crystallarium with diamond.
They all could work
A massive pond in the middle pls
there's already a river along the side but that won't give good fishies
that's a pool
true.
I don't really want to leave it like that
but I don't want any hill either
just move it down to the river near that pink tree, to basically widen the stream into like a small lake-ish thing
Thanks for the beautiful, Olympic sized pool
I wanted to keeps that tree there and make the pool more to the right
but that would work too
yea I used the Lightshot draw tool and rectangle was easier than trying to draw something freehand
yeah but like idk is doesn't make sense in my head
cuz like
i imagine it being like the arm of a river
alse the bridge doesn't make sense
oh that's what you're going for... yeah then what you already had makes more sense than like a mountain stream running into a pond
map editing/making looks fun
we want a willow map rn
you have a week willow
oh shid oh fug
quick make an important choice
i haven't even got SDV downloaded
tiled or tide
how does that look?
more water was too much imo
i might still do a mini pond on the hill
do you want this map to give good fish or just refill watering cans?
refill
then it's fine yeah
i have too many fishing maps
just add a small pond somewhere and it's good
it's the final result... sweating
π
who wanna beta test that :'D
you know what i'll post it tomorrow after some real testing
I'd love to... except I'm not sure I'll actually open the game anytime soon
I think I need to mute this discord for a few days and just play
seriously, since I joined this I've barely played
I've talked a bunch and helped a bit
and that's pretty much it
yeah
i need to LEAVE the server entirely tbh
i just
it's muted
but i wanna heLP
I have these 3 channels alive and everything else muted, so activity here gives me the notification dot... and I really don't like those dots on my icons
\o/
That looks great Zola!
thank you!
You did it!
Looks very pretty Zola
now im dying
Dang that looks great
100 tillable tiles
But can you plant strawberry in sand
yes
Ground breaking discovery
drew
it's my life
maps
i only do that
also it's because it's something someone asked
about 2 make a beach farm faster than u π
D:
Is this channel for stardew valley planner v2? Or is this something completly different?
This is a channel for sharing n talking about farm maps and layouts I think! The stardew planner website is part of that
Okay thank. Then i have a question. Can you extract the farm from the website and make a farm from that. Cause i have a vague memory of that.
Yes! You'll need this mod for that: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
Do i copy and paste the url or what
(@mental umbra You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
No idea, I've never used the mod myself
Thanks for the help!
No problem, and welcome to the server!
ThanksΒ½
!
Oh i get it now. You download an extention which downloads the farm and then you just paste it in.
It just doesn't work π¦
You can ask in #making-mods-general if anyone has experience with that mod
Not my farm layout but thought it was a super cute layout
That is super cute!
Right
oo that is nice
I really need to make my farm a little more aesthetically pleasing. It's currently pretty utilitarian.
Go for it :)
The one thing I wished is that I could zoom out on switch.
How does this look for an animal focused farm?
uhh ignore the fact that i used the wrong fence for half of it
should all be hardwood
theyre by the greenhouse sdfhg
that is a cowardly amount
30 bee houses..
thats it?????
fair i guess i could put more
let's see if i have 8x12 = uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 96? animals
maybe i should have 96 bees
that seems fair to me
i'll give the barns slightly less space
you could get rid of the bottom left coop and put more bees., then you'd have an equal amount of coops and barns
You only need two of those scarecrows by the way E
for the junimo huts?
I think so
put flowers down from grandpas shrine and then bees in that empty space? should leave enough room for the barn animals
yeah u right
but their tiles aren't covered by sprinklers
ooh yeah i could put bees over there too
Alright your layout is slightly different from mine so I could be wrong
bees
π
Also you might need a silo or two?
I figured with that many animals
its named, aptly, 'Big Silo'
ty looking that up on nexus now
makes it actually useful imo
i have the better hay mod its pretty good, i have one silo with a chest full beside it
with automate
EIGHT CHESTS. THIS IS A BIG SILO
still all in the same spot
i need to count how many this actually is
okay that's 62 beehives
so i need 34 more to get on par with the animals
[rubs hands together]
got it
thanks for the suggestion to add them over by grandpa @raw karma
oh its BEEAUTIFUL
you could put some
here maybe? it'd be an odd shape esp with whats tillable
hmm true..
oh fuk i also didnt put in scarecrows
although i think i'm gonna get the mod that lets you put all 8 rarecrows and then you are freed from the crow curse
this is all so far in the future for this save though π gotta get to playin
fuck right
mel here i come
oh i know what i'll put in that little space
some trees to tap
like 2 or 3 of each
oo NICE
i am dying
too much water?
ooh, a beach map
What are some good tips for starters in stardew valley? What should be the main focus?
Hi, welcome!
This channel is mostly for layout tips, you might want to head over to #stardew-spoilers for general gameplay stuff
But to answer your question the best thing about stardew valley is that you don't have to have one main focus! There's fishing, farming crops, raising animals, mining, fighting monsters, making friends with npcs.......... and you can choose to do any or all of it
thank you
Can we get upload farm support for console pls if possible
i don't think that would be possible ?
also upload farm is a separate thing from stardew planner
π¦
Sucks not being able to share my farm
Planner looks crap
just get it on PC 4head
Nah handheld makes the game so good
Ilk just suck it up and recreate my farm on planner. Onced renderd it looks decent. Wonβt be able to show stats thow I think
How do I put tappers on my trees on planner lol
And whereβs all the stuff u can buy from robins
Doesnβt even render the grass properly
The lamp posts arenβt behind the grass π¦
It does that once you render it
When doing it like that it shows the hit box
(How much space itβs taking up)
Do you mean wood, the resource? Robin doesn't sell anything called a log.
If you're trying to place those wood sticks that spawn on your farm as debris, those are at the bottom of the T dropdown menu
@night eagle she does sell them, basic log and Log Section, they are decorative pieces
Ohhhh right that stuff
Yeah, the planner don't have a lot of small decorations
Thank you for the correction though
Cyzric, you do have the option of taking screenshots on console and editing them together to get a more accurate image of your farm
Like a modded farm map?
no just a layout on my farm that works sorry
that reminds me tho i do want to try that tiny beach farm
https://upload.farm/plan/1GTCFz idk what to add in the bottom corner
oo thats a nice farm
could always do more crops
you dont seem to have any fruit trees? altho they could in the greenhous
e
nope you dont have that whoops
its the planner
i already have trees in my greenhouse and i dont really care for them that much
thanks
(@signal anchor You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
yeet
Y E E T
i might add in some normal trees for oak resin and stuff
https://upload.farm/plan/1GTDjz i like it right now
I have grass fields
Those are for legs and preserves jars
a h
The other ones are for animals
how many legs do you have im a little concerned tbh
I really like how the barn door is outside the fenced in area, I don't think I've seen that before
I have 2 legs dits
What are the best crops to plant in the fall?
Cranberries
Pumpkins if you plant them in an at least 3x3 area π
Technically sweet gem berries are better, but that's not a crop you can grow at scale easily
Also, welcome to the server!
welcome to the server zoviex!
also same i might steal that barn door/fence/animal door idea
I kinda wish there was a tile between the two doors on the coop so I can separate them with fences and itβs easier for me to pick up the eggs and stuff
thank. you
Is there a way to place multiple artisan objects (kegs, looms, etc.) without having to go back up to the drop down each time?
I thought it was only for buildings, thanks a bunch!
How the hell do you even access the thing to view Ur farm from really high?
You can't in the game, we're using the stardew planner website which is separate
Ah ok
There are mods to let you export a picture of your whole farm though
Or upload.farm
@daring estuary You can use https://upload.farm/ on PC or iOS or https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/ on PC if you use mods or want more detail
is there a way to use the multiplanner without paying?
Probably not. Hpeinar,(I misspelled I think)
Is on this server. So if you do pay, there's a contact.
You can use the planner, save your design, then send the link to someone else. But if you want to plan a single farm at the same time as someone else you'll need the multiplanner
Hello everyone
Hello
Hi
Hello!
hello friends do any of you play with the mining type farm? im currently at fall 1st year n having trouble planning where to place buildings n stuff
r/farmsofstardewvalley
best subreddit for it
hey thanks π
hay does anybody speak german?
I speak a little german, but all channels except #vanilla-tech-support are English speaking only in this server
welcome to the server!
if you can try your best with google translate its okay if its not perfect
Im experiencing some weird issue with the Stardew planner. When im done doodling and planning I want to save the layout. Everything fine up until im looking for the save file. Its not where its supposed to be. Therefore I cant "open" the file again for further planning.
And hi everybody π
Ah yeah, it doesn't save as a file or anything, instead the planner generates a unique url that you can save or bookmark
Then you use that url to return to there you were before
And welcome to the server Chini and Vabbu!
waaait.... let me check that real quick π
is there a way to get rid of the "object count" window ?
(@warm bone You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
yeah click on the options button and deselect show object count
can we forget I ever asked that? @raw karma XD
sdjfdfh never
Hey guys, I'm trying to use the planner to plan my summer crops with my girlfriend. My issue is I can't seem to find where the coffee plants are in the planner. Do they exist?
Not seeing them my dude! Sorry
Question: How do you get a room ID?
It said I have to be a donater?
(@toxic bobcat You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
cool
Question: How do you get a room ID?
It said I have to be a donater?
@hpeinar
Yes, have you donated?
i found these on pinterest so im not exactly sure who made these
but i thought they were pretty cool
i know righT
Wew
when I search for images I just type -pinterest at the end every time
fanq knows whats up
also how they work is like... "here's a tiny image, a bigger version of which may or may not be on the actual page this link is taking you, even if you log in to get access to it"
Pinterest be like "oh fuck" refuses to credit ppl
It's more of a user issue
Pinterest if you know how to use it redirect you on source
That's the entire purpose of it
pinterest is also pretty clearly in violation of some pretty base internet things
mainly you can't present one page to a webcrawler and another to an actual user
which is exactly what it does
cant rotate fences
why do others have theirs rotated in their planners then?
can i rotaTE ANYTHING AT ALL IN THE PLANNER?
