lies that is what every god wants you to think
Especially Odin
Monster farm layout ๐
Nice
Wish signs had renders ๐ฆ that's what the blank spaces are for by the toolboxes
wow its cool

@tulip mesa you should definetly submit this to weekly terrific farm!
@gloomy pine I don't know what that is, but I am guessing it is weekly, and it is about maps

Just go to #bulletin-board ther are the details
hmmm maybe I will do that when I have built it all in-game so I can grab a screenie with the prettiful building mods.

There are some pretty simple guides on the ChuckleFish Board. It is more or less "Install SMAPI, add folder called "Mods" to SDV install folder (where the launch .exe is), go on NexusMods and find building mod, unzip in Mods folder, success"
โค
Looks good! Only suggestion I have is that the stable is a bit far from the house, and if that cabin is for a second player, they might want a stable too :)
that's the upload.farm logo
its the watermark
the site is literally upload.farm it's a good place to get a screenshot of your whole farm
alessandra that's a great map I like how you have your crops
no u should use Map Image Export mod
or that
it definitely is but the site is easier to use
well
easier in that if you don't have smapi it's right there
typing export current or export farm is harder than trying to locate your save file?
k
alright that's fair
@night eagle ๐ฎ I rarely use the horsie, and if I do, it is for the area around Marnie's house(!). Otherwise, I usually stick it up in the top-right by the shipping bin.
@raw karma Thank you
@tired tinsel The site is easier to plan with since you see everything at once. The Map Image Export is particularly good for modded maps, since Upload.farm does not support those, and for after completing your farm using the template you made on the Planner as a guide.
I have made maps in-game using CJB and a custom map and it is a PITA compared to using the planner merely due to the fact you cannot see the entirety of the farm, especially the larger ones like Ace's MTN maps
I like how there is just a road of torches. Someone could get hurt there Ash.
I love how it looks
thanks a lot!
Are there more crab pots near the bottom bait stations?
@prime cosmos what building mod is that, if I may ask?
looks like Elles Seasonal Buildings
Yea it is
thanks!
Sooo cuteeee!!
dumb question but how do you actually get a screenshot of your entire farm? lol
]]
map export mod or upload.farm
I walked around my farm and took screenshots Its really hard to line all the pictures up
But its worth it
Are you on console?
No its on PC
Why not just use https://upload.farm/ then? You'd save yourself a lot of time
Or https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/? if you have mods
Well that mod basically takes a screenshot for you, rather than the render upload.farm does, so you may want to look at that
Oh I think im gonna do that next time thanks @night eagle
oh i see ๐ i swapped from pc to nintendo switch so im guessing its harder lol
(@modern verge You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
lol congrats @modern verge
If you're on a console, you just have to take screenshots. I recommend going to Robin's and selecting the move buildings options. That will give you a more zoomed out view, and you won't have quite so many screenshots to stitch together.
cool
What is this part of the server for?
For planning your farm layout there is a site for it
for the planner: https://stardew.info/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Ok cool
the planner (and the creator) are just that cool
and its usefulness can't be understated
Its amazing. I created my dream farm with it
most of the WTF are also rendered in it too
I`m playing with a friend and we are in the middle of the summer, any idea for planning the farm on winter? We are in the regular farm. Thanks
r/farmsofstardewvalley will help on reddit
lots of inspiration to get from there
yeah, it's hella useful
@final summit winter seeds, lots of mining and fishing
@kind pivot grats on wtf
@kind pivot congrats whoa that's a gorgeous farm
Hey, thank you!! <3
Grats Bananoodles!
grats
Congrats
Congrats nano!
@kind pivot congrats your farm is so cool!
@gloomy pine Thanks I appreciate it!
Lol
I am confusion
My first farm. I'm finally far into the game I can do one of these
I don't think I need as many scarecrows as I have
This thought came to me late in the night yesterday lol
Oh no, I do lol
Thanks Dots! I think I can get away with one scarecrow on the side of each hut
There's a scarecrow filter that you can turn on to see their radius.
I have 9 squares not covered by scarecrow in my farm. Out of almost 100 crop spaces. So it's. What I did.
Are there 2 bananoodles now?
redid my animal farm a little.. thinking about removing the potted plants in the rose garden and just having roses (also i see i need to fix my tile pattern in one section)... as well as taking out the big garden since I have a really good greenhouse mod now. Just not sure what id put in that big garden area... thoughts?
I ended up putting a shed , a silo, a well, and some trees in the garden spot. I guess i can use the shed for more cheese and mayo machines
Looks great Pookachu! I would personally extend the checkered path to in front of the farm house, but that's up to you
hmmm yeah I prolly should.
finally actually put some effort into my farm design in my new save. the trees on the right will go away once the ones on the bottom left grow in. it's only summer y2 so still fairly early on
(coffee plants are also leftover from spring when i only had quality sprinklers and will go away in fall)
Cute heart
How do you get in though. You can go breaking down a beehouse every season? 80
(the buildings look really nice too)
(Also. I think you have to remove the paths for the bottom left trees to grow. Replace them after they're grown)
Yeah it's not the most efficient but I also don't touch the flowers throughout the season at all so it's not that big of a deal
Yeah, you'll need to take out the path for those trees to grow, at least the tiles directly next to the trees
Not for regular trees?
cool
@prime cosmos what buildings mod is that?
I think its called ellens but Im not quite sure
nice
@warm linden I just paid the $2.50 for Planner on Patreon, can I get a room id please mate?
Thats where you cant grow crops
@obsidian pewter sure, let me PM you
thank you

Year 6 on my hundred year farm!
but I misplaced my watering can, carefully searched every single chest, no good
the next day, in a chest that I KNOW wasn't storing it, because I checked several times, BLIP, there it is
finally sat down to create a plan, came up with this 2 hours later
nice
Wow, looks sweet!
thank you
cant wait to actually start building it
can your cows get out of the second row of barnes?
yeah, there's space
if it doesn't work out for some reason i think i can just move it down one
one block of space is enough right>
oh, going to point out that you only need one mill, it will take whatever you put in it, and spit out the flour and sugar. I found that out by accident
oh automatically?
yep
ahhh
the symmetry you have with the slime hutch is nice, though
no problem, like I said, I found out by accident, lol
I don't know what happens if you put in enough to overflow the output slots, though.
an experiment for another day, lol
@wet jay you certainly have a good eye for balance in design.
ah thank you so much! i have to admit, i scoured through a bunch of designs and borrowed ideas here and there. it was kinda difficult getting the perfect plan out since i was picky with how i wanted my setup to be :P
Hey, nothing wrong with studying others to better inform yourself :) I love it.
<3
@wet jay you could plant some fruit trees next to your house
Yea there is definetly need for fruit trees on your farm
What's wrong with stardew planner? @everyone
what is wrong?
It's enuff
It's your internet?
no it happened to me as well
It's the site, the ssl certificate expired. @warm linden
Ah dam, yeah I'll fix it soon, need to wake up first
It's back again
๐
Ty!
Animal/Wine farm (may still need some adjustments)
Just making sure. Sprinklers don't water potted plants (without mods) so... Be sure mods are in play
Oo pwetty
yep i have the mod ๐
Heyy I want change my farm.
can you send me ideas for make a pretty farm?
flower isn't good in winter XD
but i have flower around the lake
in another season
no trees?
Where ?
why do people cover their farms with tiles
you should have a look at some pictures of other peoples farms to get more ideas :)
Oo kaname if you have enough money you should start an orchard with fruit trees somewhere
Also pull that deluxe barn forward
updated my greenhouse thought id share it and see what y'all think of the new green look ๐
@obtuse ridge is this a modded greenhouse? My greenhouse is much more smaller, the area there is covered by 6 iridium sprinklers
it is
this one is for the extra trees and crops from the JsonAssets mods
which i think is more trees and fruits and veggies iirc
replaces greenhouse with a farm
lol yeah maybe but i dont have any crops on my animal farms!
Oo pretty
@cursive tide grats on WTF
@kind abyss ty
imo I'd say thicken the stone paths some and add wood paths between the crops
Yea, what Uni said, paths at the crops patches
Did someone say paths?
Done with my automated farm, I think.
(There's a spot for a gold clock behind the mill but I probably won't grind the money for it)
yeah its expeennsiiveee
A small loan of 10 million g
nice farm mousey โบ๏ธโบ๏ธ organised

thanks, odin!!
No problem!
anyone house interior ideas? :c
I think you have an overgrowth problem there. xD
@raw karma holy smokes thatโs absolutely gorgeous
Here's my house interior. Furniture is the Victorian Furniture mod. House is my own.
OH i see it now
the basement stairs are there too just "hidden"
yee i read about that on the mod page. itโs probably the only thing keeping me from downloading it tbh because i know iโll forget to ever check the basement if i canโt see the entrance to it lmao
ohhhhhh okay i gotcha
i do greenhouse mods now lol waaaay less stress
Does hte pool table, aquarium, and potted plants come from the victorian furniture modd?
no those are from my custom Pookachu's House Cp
Ah okay
Hnng... I installed a CF pack and like half the furniture doesn't match up. And the icons look weird
eek
uh oh. which one?
aw shit thatโs mine
damn, shouldโve tested the CF pack more
gimme a bit and iโll go see what the issue is
Want me to send you a screenshot of what it looks like in the catalogue?
yes please!
also what OS are you on? just for reference (things showed up fine on my end)
Windows 8.1
any switch users around?
Yo
Quick question - I'm new to this whole channel and 'WTF', but I wanted to join in on submitting farm designs. Is there anything I need to know to be able to get involved, or have I missed anything incredibly obvious?
Nope, it's pretty straight forward. As long as you've build the farm in the game or designed it yourself on the planner, just submit it to @gritty cloak. If they pick your farm, the mods will ask you for some more details about it then, so you can just send the image
@night eagle Ah OK, awesome - thanks!
No problem!
im having a hard time deciding between two house layouts
Farmhouse A has the "outdoor" playroom not connected to the garden
Farmhouse B has it connected
im off to bed so @ me with your thoughts โค
funny thing is after i added the playroom and garden it stopped lagging
thats a fully build marriage house
nope
๐ฆ
this is just for me cause people started asking for too many things stressed me out
Seems an easy choice to me. I would absolutely go for the one with the extra connection
yeah, same
Same. No reason why the kids should be the furthest away from any safe fire exits in the case of an emergency
lol
Fixed the area between the rooms so it looks a little better, moved the upstairs bathroom over, added another bedroom, extended the lower storage room so it could hold chests, changed the flooring in the storage/garden rooms, and exchanged the top plant area for mushroom boxes. Thanks for the input!
Why would you need such a big house?
The Farmhouse Paradox
idk i just like a really big house
plus my raccoon children dont get to go outside
more room for them to run around
looks like fun to decorate
wait hold on
oh are you using my kids furniture mod!? awesome
๐
Lol
Loogiโs Manor :P
So this is the farm I'm mostly working towards on the Nintendo Switch. This is the End version of my plan (I can post my pre-plan with the minor changes if you want). Curious as to what people's thoughts are on it, because I wanna get involved in the 'WTF' thing.
Also, the singular chests by the stone and plank cabins are supposed to be like the larger shipping bin by the main house - but I saw no option for it in the Planner.
That's a huuuge house and also i love your farm layout theme
That's pretty neat.
The grass will overflow, so if you wanted beehouses o flowers. That could be more permanent instead
I just did the space invader grass pattern for the sake of the planner - I'll want enough grass to feed the animals in-game ๐
Also as its end game. No iridium sprinklers?
I've only used them for the middle of the crop area - I wanted to try and make things somewhat even, so I used quality instead.
I'm not min-maxing, so I just preferred it like that
Yeah it looks good then
Thanks @lament gorge @signal mesa

@proper jewel #multiplayer-lfg-old is for asking to play
He meant, go to the multiplayer channel if you're looking for someone to play
Hi guys.
I'm having difficulty on coming up with a decent farm layout for the Forest Farm map. (aka foraging map)
Not used to the grass and isolated areas with bushes yet. Does anyone have a Forest Farm layout for reference? :3
don't know if there are any here but take a look: https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/lets-all-de-stress-for-a-minute-by-looking-at-beautiful-stardew-valley-farms/
:o Woah.
Dang some of those placements are pretty smart.
Saves space for crops.
Thanks a bunch :D @tidal matrix
you're welcome
๐
ooh
this is really pretty
it kinda looks like makco
straw hat, beard
just i think the skin colour is slightly changed
People add me on steam rosswalsh29 to join my farm
i'm currently in the process of reorganizing my farm to make it look better, the biggest issue i'm having is where exactly the crops should go, 'cause i want it to look nice but also be functional u know? (im not using any mods) any tips?
the area theyโre in looks good imo, but some of it will depend on how much you want to be growing at any given time and if youโll be getting any more barns/coops. one thing i could recommend tho is breaking up the fields a bit more so thereโs pathways between some amount of the iridium sprinkler chunks. makes it quicker to travel through (since walking on crops or grass slows you down) and harvesting a little easier. plus it can look really nice!
and since you have the big row of grass there on the left, you could easily plop down another barn/coop for symmetry
ah and maybe move the golden clock elsewhere cause that spot could be utilized for all sorts of things (more farming, more fruit trees, another shed, etc etc). id place it somewhere more out of the way, like near that center section you have going with the shed and obelisks or up near the greenhouse.
thanks! yeah, i probably will move the gold clock, but the thing about pathways between crops is im not sure if it'll be out of the junimos range
just need to buy more junimo huts i guess lol
having multiple is usually good anyways :p
how are guys getting those full farm shots?
@river hamlet https://upload.farm/ OR download a mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/?
ohhhh i see thank you!!
np !
@gloomy pine asking about multi player goes in #multiplayer-lfg-old , welcome
Sorry if this is a dumb question but can I import the map on the planner into the game or do I have to use it as a guide and make it by hand?
Alrighty
Also, mine isn't rendering
Is there like a glitch that I'm doing where it won't render if I put something somewhere or?
Does the planner save your progress?
I'm not sure there's any trick with that issue
Also here's the mod for importing your plan: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
Brainstorming for a more natural looking wilderness farm, but still with symmetry:
Thanks!
Hi, everyone! I have a question and I really hope somebody knows the answer as it's been bothering me all day.
I started a multiplayer farm on switch yesterday about midnight. I was playing with someone in my friends list and then out of nowhere, this random person joined my farm. I have no idea who they were or how they found my farm. They were not on my friends list. Is this normal? Can people find farms to join when not friends with them on switch? I was on online multiplayer, not local multiplayer. โบ
i dont believe that people can find your farm online, however i dont play the switch version so im not sure
next time make sure to go to an appropriate channel because this is about the stardew planner haha
oh? apologies, i thought this was the right channel
No worries, Amanda. Welcome to the Discord. To my knowledge, people who aren't your friends shouldn't' be able to find your farm, so I'm not sure what happened. What drew meant is that #vanilla-tech-support is generally where all the folks with technical knowledge hang out so it is the best place to ask questions.
ah okay, thanks! I read through the welcome channel and thought the description matched this one so sorry about that! ๐ but yeah, thats what I thought. it really confused and bothered me when they showed up out of the blue
(@blissful oxide You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
You were the one hosting?
yeah
Weird. Any chance you were on a public wifi network? That's the only thing I can think of
nope, it was my house wifi! ๐
Maybe a neighbor was mooching off your WiFi and joined your LAN?
By the way, does the SDV automatically save your progress or will you have to manually load it every time?
Your device might not have enough storage, I dunno
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
kind of a minor thing, but i got a letter from hat mouse to go see him with maple syrup, but i got no cutscene?
Venus, I don't know of a solution to that issue, you can try clearing your cookies or browser cache for the site and trying again
Doug, I'm not really sure what you're asking. Letters in the game are never accompanied by a cutscene
i received a letter from the hat mouse telling me to come to the woods and to bring maple syrup, but when i did, i couldn't give it to him. nothing happened
I don't recall that letter mentioning maple syrup, do you remember exactly what it said? Also, we should move this discussion to #stardew-spoilers, this really isn't the right channel
okay
Don't worry, you skipped a bunch of off topic stuff :P
@gloomy pine if you're trying to plan on a modded farm, it can't render it
๐ก
i
i have my whole farm out but pathos fixed a bug in automate that I was USING
and now I have to move. this entire side of my farm
one tile to the right
the COMPLICATED side
this is the worst day of my life

i mean i guess i could replan this maze but tbh moving everything sounds easier
do you guys like the farm i designed?
it's mostly for aesthetic, not really functionality
it looks pretty nice yeah
๐
though if you want more randomness in the pathing i'd probably recommend the stepping stone pathing instead of the cobblestone one
Oo so pretty!
started working on a new house today... it needs some work still but im kinda liking it more then my massive house
Basement??
Sweeeet
would be in the normal spot you go down
im thinking about switching the swimming pool and garden room so i dont have to walk through the changer twice
๐
i love the outdoor areas
this is with the rooms switched. i still need to add in data tiles but i dont wanna do that until i have the layout all settled
@obtuse ridge is ingame furniture placable in new rooms?
yes
I like it! I also like it a bit more than a huge house. Only things I'd like, personally, is a blacksmith room to break my own geodes and the kids' room blank. xD Makes me want to learn how to make my own interior house.
is it good
i just need to add another barn
and move the green cabin one space to the right
so horse can move
In game, I believe you can place grass first and then place fences on top to keep immortal grass
Yes you can
Or lightning rods I believe
(But the grass will still go poof in winter)
Wealp. Only 1 horse for 4 houses. But otherwise. Looks great
Is there a way to kind of "reset" your farm but without losing any progress in game? I want to reorganize things and better plan out my farm. I am in winter year 2 and this is my first time playing
thanks for the tips
@signal mesa i want to go 2 horses since we can have two people wondering around
like 1 mining and 1 fishing or foraging
@hidden silo those things are in my basement
What, a blacksmith's area?
No, in the house Pooka is making.
where?
its part of my "pookachu's house" mod that someone put together for me
im not fiddling with the basement at all in these houses
A chicken coop maybe?
I like your bee house formation and tubbs.
If you want more, you can fill in some of the empty space with crystallarium. (Duplicating thing in case I can't spell)
Can you send me those mods in a zip folder?
You could add paths that go to the farm entrances
oh i think I'll add crystallariums thanks
i know it's on purpose
Where's the best place to fish on your first spring for the most average XP and money from fish?
ok i did the math myself, fishing in the Town River is the best place to fish for money and fishing XP, but the fish are a bit harder so be prepared to fight for it
Rainy days in the town river are the best too, but catfish are also there and they're very hard to catch early on so be extra prepared if you're planning on town river fishing while it's rainy
#stardew-spoilers , this channel is for the planner site.

I thought it would be fun to share my Before and After picture of my farm, so people don't feel discourage to make their farm all pretty~
It took me several years in game (7 years) to complete my farm to what I'm satisfied (and fall into the darkness that is modding).
Here's what my farm looks like Fall y4
And that's in Summer y8
You can do it! ๐ช

@tall pulsar
Ask questions here, I don't really know how to use the planner
did you create a room?
is there a public room i can join?
@tall pulsar that is the multiplanner which is multiple people can all work on planning the farm. If you're planning by yourself, you dont need to donate
i want with friends
k then u will need to donate
Yeah, the multiplanner is a paid feature
"plan? what plan?"
and yea it looks like crap because i'm more of a functional over aesthetically pleasing look
Is that just a bajillion paths?
and i'm aware of the misaligned beehouses
and yes those are paths because it helped me see where to place all the crops
and prevent truffles from going outside the fence
Oh thats smart
idk what to do
so i guess choose one of the layouts that the planner has to offer and ill try to make a farm on it?
Yes, truffles can end up outside the fence
Are you just making a plan for fun or for a layout you'd actually be playing, Frozen?
like which one
imma try the ali foraging farm
Oh I didn't even see those :P
No idea, sorry
follow up question: do paths impede grass growth too?
Yes
so... we're somewhere between form and function here
the beehouses were super cute when they were just by themselves but are now sort of in the way. i think in winter i'm going to move them and put all the sheds in that area (not going to move them until they're obsolete though because $$$)
also probably need to find a new place for either the trees or the crops on the left because i don't like the way that looks right now
also also the junimo huts were just added so the crops aren't really laid out in an optimal way for them so will probably try to fix that as well
thanks odin ^^
No problem!
does the Forest Farm reproduce the hard wood in the grass areas to the left hand side of the layout or am I just coming across many player who havenโt cleared them yet?
unsure if I should build there
It respawns daily, that's the main benefit of picking the forest map :)
You can still build stuff over there and just work around the stumps
Thatโs awesome! Thanks for the info.
Happy to help
Lol everyoneโs now doing the heart in bee hives
Looks like I need to have that in a farm now
trending
If you chop down the wood and put smth there the stumps wont come back
Thank you!
can anyone help me with designing a farm
Sure, just post what you have so far
i'd like to help too!

Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
you can render it
Is it possible for me to download this save for myself?
can it be made into a save?
i think u need a mod for that
- u need a mod for that
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071 this mod to import it
Yep, that mod is the only way to import a layout from the planner
Farm layout. Though i dunno what to do with the area on the left (im going for efficiency, not prettiness(other than grandpas shrine))
if you have the resources you could put some more crops
or an outdoor processing area
it looks nice tho
you could extend the tree orchard
I'd set up additional beehives and add a couple flowers so you can make more money from those. At least earlier in the game you'll want more than just one of each regular tree tapped, so I would add more of those.
Thanks guys :)
@raw karma by the orchard do you mean the trees by grandpas shrine or the ones at the bottom?
ones at the bottom sorry
shouldve realized "tree orchard" doesnt actually narrow it down
Its fine ๐ thanks for the input
hey guys
im new and approaching my first fall
im just curious how i set my plowed land to work perfectly with my sprinklers
Depends on the type of sprinklers. If you have quality, you can set it up
XSXXSXCXSXXSX
Where X is crop, S is sprinkler and C is a scarecrow
i think ill go for quality
always go for quality
is there a place i can look at other people's farm design?
the website only shows a small amout of layout
Welcome to the server Cola!

๐๐พ
so my first save I did the foraging map and I really liked it but wanted more room for crops so i used standard this save but i'm literally overwhelmed by the amount of space, any advice/tips?
Maybe create some paths around the farm to break it up?
Donโt worry too much abt the space first, I usually wait till winter to start making stuff look nicer (cause the days arenโt as packed)
Just plant as much crops as you can, even if the layout is ugly lol (try to efficiently plan it for sprinklers tho)
I usually do 3x3, so I can drop the sprinklers whenever I get them
i just feel like once i have sections suddenly i have no room
idk it's probably just my anxiety keeping me from doing things
i look at all these farm layouts and then try to plan my own and get overwhelmed
this is what i have right now that's mostly function but kind of aesthetic (ignore all the extra lightning rods, i just panic created them bc i had 2 lightning storms 2 days in a row)
It seems pretty great already, donโt worry too much abt min/maxing haha, just take things at your own pace and enjoy the game
But yeah you might want some pathways haha
Well, you may find it easier to just plan one section at a time. For example, I remember you mentioned moving the junimo huts. So this winter, just focus on changing your crops on the right to be how you want. And you can always change stuff again later, so don't worry about "getting it right". I'm on year 5 right now and I've changed my crop layout by some amount every single year
The beehouse heart is sper cute
I think everyoneโs doing that now

Iโm not gonna delete cause then the admin logs will get spammed
Yeah that heart design is pretty popular
This is gonna be my farm layout for hilltop farm if anyone wants to reference it
I struggled so hard on the crop placement because the bottom left side was rlly weird
I also dont know what to put on the bottom right corner so feel free to give me some suggestions ๐
Also this can place 2 extra farmers for people who want to play with some friends
that looks great!
Thank you ๐
maybe in the bottom right you could plant trees? it could give you an area to use the tappers
Thts a great Idea. I dont have as many trees atm so it would be perfect to add. Thank you Vasmi!
Yeah, it looks great! And just so you know, you can actually render you plan so it looks nicer when sharing (the button is purple and in the top right)
Youโre welcome! Have fun with your new farm.
Will do ๐ And thnks for the tip Odin and Vasmi.
Please keep bot commands to #governors-mansion

Anyone have a layout of a 4 player Standard Farm Map?
i had made this one for fun and aesthetics, though i don't know how well it works in practice
Spams Huts everywhere
it was designed for 4 people, so i doubt it would take nearly as long to gather them all
My only concern is that you may want more trees so you can get more maple syrup/oak resin/pine tar at a bit faster rate, but other that it looks like a great plan!
think once you render the plan it does
The planner is intentionally cutting stuff off, it's showing you the buildings footprint
So that's how many squares the cabin will take up
Like Frozen said, you can render you plan (there's a button in the top right) for when you want to actually share the plan
would a farm like this work in practice? im worried im overlooking some kind of huge problem with it :v
Fruit trees??
inside the greenhouse
i dont really grow a lot of fruit anyways, so the few trees i have there have been enough for me so far
ah well thats good :D
my biggest worry is the size of the pasture for the animals but i think its big enough?
Depends on how many animals youre planning to get
not too many. i have two pigs and im wondering if its big enough for them to find truffles
the cows and sheep and others are whatever
Yeah thats probably big enough then
hmm
I think its fine for about 14-20 animals
yeah thats pretty close to what i have currently
I havent really worked with pigs yet so dont know how they work ๐คท
Like i know they dig truffles outta the ground
But dunno whats the best area size for them or whatever
yeah, i just heard from somewhere that they may not find many truffles if they cant wander around enough? but its unclear if thats true or how large the area should be
i guess ill just go with it and fix it if it doesnt work out ๐คท
Yeah
my space for my pigs is smaller and they still find few truffles a day
Yes Mega, that's a good layout. You might want to put some of the kegs and stuff in a shed, but that's a personal preference. The only other thing is that you may want to get jumino huts at some point and you'd have to move your crops around a little, but I wouldn't worry about that too much
aah thanks for the tips odin. :D i actually looked at the junimo huts while laying out the farms and im pretty sure i wouldnt lose too many crop spaces if i just smacked a few in the middle of the field. i was also wondering about the sheds, but i do have some empty space in the lower right corner where i could put some later
though i mostly put the kegs outside just to use the grassy areas for something haha. also good to know vasmi, that eases my worries a bit lol
@warm linden
Im confused about this whole thing
Which part? You plan out your farm to aesthetics
Here is the rendered version of my layout ๐
edited so that three people can play, also im planning to plant trees along the river. Just a couple so that it doesnt look too much like a forest
Thatโs a really nice layout
thought that was a map of pelican town at first glance. it looks like a full city
many sheds
@night eagle what is up?
Ah I see, @random olive I'm the creator of the planner. Donation options are available and listed on the planner.
If you wish to contribute somehow otherwise, my contact email is also listed on the planner (scroll down to contacts).
That Odin ping though 8P
Thanks for all the work put into the planner
That's nice pheotix, but there's so little farm area
What do you guys think about my layout? Would love some CC!
A planner i made for my 4 person farm (im not host someone else is)
@past jungle There are about 249 spaces that you could plant crops. You could also make some more farming space on the bottom in between the trees which I'm also considering as well
I went for the aesthetic look since it is pretty difficult to plan out a lot farming area for the hilltop farm.
That's a great crop setup @warped linden, I don't think I've seen another one like it
I'd recommend cutting back on the stone pathing if that's your main concern
Maybe use a different path type for all the one square wide paths
Im used to stone path. Havent tried much else. Unsure if it even looks pleasing.
Err, unsure if the layout is visibly pleasing. Or even workable.
Well from a workable stand point, horses need vertical paths to be at least two wide to fit, so keep that in mind when planning paths. I never know how much people actually use the horse though, I guess if you never take it to the south entrance of the farm or plan to use it when on the farm you plan doesn't have any issues there.
i know you all love my crazy houses so here's my latest! (spouseroom addon isnt working yet ignore sam's ugly crap)
Another thing is just the balance of what you have. There's a lot of silos, and there's nothing wrong with having a bunch, but you only actually need a few and then just a chest next to them to store hay. Especially since it doesn't look like you have much room to grow grass on this layout.
And my comment about the paths was just because you said you thought it was "chunky" and to me the pathing is what matches that feeling. If you like having the paths like that, go for it :)
The last thing I'll say is that you may just want to start playing, and refine the plan as you go
Playing the game on that farm is really the best way to know if a plan actually works
You can always change it later if you want to
Exactly
Pookachu, that's insane :P I think I would want some fast travel method just to get around that house
its actually not that bad since the rooms are very connected
i have lost a kid though for a solid 10 minutes
I bet :P
Do you ever fell the need to edit the outside of the house to better match you interior modding? Or is it just a tardis/house of leaves sort of thing?
no im pretty happy with the yellogs wood buildings though i did a lot of customizations for things outside too
the slime hutch is a bar, i have a winery next to it, the crystal ports to the mountains, the big tree to the desert, the small tree to the woods, the little gazebo to the beach.
all my trees and crops are in my house and the greenhouse so i can have my farm 100% for animals
That's pretty cool
It must take a lot of time each day to interact with all the animals
nope! i have the autograbber addon so it pets them upon waking up and gathers the eggs/milk/wool, truffles. I have my grass and hay set to never run out
once a season i go collect the goodies and make them into craftables
i guess thats why i dont mind a big house lol i dont have to do anything on the farm
@obtuse ridge does the house have to use Euclidean geometry? Could you have a layout that makes no sense? Also, where is the exit?
Pretty sure same entrance and exit as usual
Now expand the basement into a working furnace blacksmith shop, wine cellar, crystallarium, and underground fishing.
I rarely ever use the horse. You cant interact with things while riding... i prefer coffee.
@night eagle thanks
@tepid flame i built the rooms as i went so im sure you can. If you wanted to get super fancy you could just put in warp tiles and have no room connectors at all. The exit is between the kitchen and master bedroom in the living room ๐
Does anyone have a tree layout?
What do you mean?
Regular trees can be planted one space apart, while fruit trees require two
Yes
stardew.info isn't showing graphics (just the grid and boundaries) on my Chrome, but working fine on Edge. Is it some kind of setting that's messing it up?
I don't use Chrome so I'm afraid I can't be of much help
works on chrome for me
Huzzah, did some refinement.
Might look a little more friendly for the eyeballs...
trellis plants are in the center of my crop field
Right edge lower is my flower garden.
Left edge lower open chunk is for trees. 3 columns of pine, maple, oak.
Left edge bottom and top is for my silos (didnt add them)
Large lowest chunk is mt animal field.
Any other suggestions to refine, or make a little more pleasing?
If it's double column of trellis, there might be a better way to place it.
Anything to the left of grandpa?
Hm I think itโs just that your layout seems very, efficient? Like it seems very rigid haha idk how to say it
And I think many of us build for the aesthetics of it so we imagine it to be a mini town of sorts, so itโs not like fixed 10x10 squares of area being cordoned off and stuff
lol @tight star I build in the same way Earthsouls did. haha
I think blocking things off makes them aesthetic.
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
I just can't grasp how to decorate in a useful, aesthetic fashion, so I just draw a grid and fill it with stuff
To each their own haha
Idk, I think the standard farm is harder to make more town-ly looking lol
And also itโll be different when you go through it in the game, since you wonโt be seeing an overview of it but rather a ground level view
taking winter to redo my farm! bottom right pasture is for my army of 12 pigs and the middle one is for the other farm animals. not sure what to do with the bottom left corner. also definitely open to suggestions about better ways to plan things out/make it prettier!
gonna put trees/flowers and things around the ponds but didn't want to go through that in the planner
maybe fruit trees in the bottom left?
More horses for the other multiplayer
unless their houses are just fancy stoeage
They donโt have any cabins so they donโt really need more horses
why him flat like this
It only shows the hit box unless you render it
oh i see. thats rough bc im bad at spatial stuff but its okay
Has anyone else placed virtical fences between tightly packed trees to make sap harvesting more efficient?
Vertical**
T INSTEAD OF T
F X
T T
You can do that, but you'll just need to wait until the trees are fully grown
I like it myself.
Hi
I do not know if I can ask this but, I made my farm in the planner and now I want to export it to my savegame, is this possible? or just to design
Spend two hours designing lol
you have to build it in-game, unless there is a mod for that
heck, I play on nintendo switch
(@last sundial You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
there is a mod for that for PC peoppe
I know, but the savegame is the same in pc as in nintendo, so create my farm thinking that I could export the xml to my savegame
Welcome bross!!
This is the mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
I don't think that you'll be able to do anything like this on the switch though, sorry
Is it possible to make a fence out of gates? Or do gates require posts to work?
i think i'm going to be productive today and try to plan out a farm
Fences do require posts to work
Technically you could make a fence out of the post that shows when you have an unattached gate but it would be ugly and impassable
or i can just copy someone else's that'dbemucheasierbut
i want to properly try the planner but the forest farm is too packed and i'm too lazy to think
eh i'll do it later
Can anyone see any issue with my greenhouse plan?
31 trees/74 hops
Other than it being an absolute hassle to harvest
(@hexed tangle You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Oh. I see where I could squeeze in one more hop.
I assume the preserve jars around the edges represent trees, but what are the ones among the crops for?
Also trees?
You can't plant fruit tree in the crop area
Always I think?
Blinks
Well, more room for hops, right? :P
Also, keep in mind that those sprinklers outside the crops area will stop the nearby trees from growing so you'll have to wait for the trees to grow before placing those
Yeah, well now I'll have to scrap everything. I found some old post I was using as a reference that had trees in the soil so I just assumed.
Haha.
Is there any way to render in-greenhouse images?
I don't think you can render a greenhouse plan
ok i swear this time think i might really be done making changes. I give you the best pook mansion ever built (also the largest its 99L by 99W).
Ooohhhh I like that painting hallway
Jeebus
Anyone care to explain why youd want that large of a house?
is it just me, or has anyone else seen people using quality instead of iridium sprinklers more as of late (in end game farms)?
iridium is still pretty expensive and it might be useless if you're only growing in 3x3 patterns, so maybe
in my late game I'm actually planting less crops now just because I'm only making artisan goods
I only make Quality Sprinklers cuz that fits with my farm design
Tho its a pain to get refined quartz when you have no quartz or/and trash
I have hundreds of it, never used
Is there a way to specifically find plans people have made for the hilltop farm
I can see one on the front page of stardew.info but it doesn't look like i can search
Nah, but you can swap it from with: "minimap" to "full"
Ahh that helps
There's also the "show off your farm" subreddit, where you can search by Hilltop only
reddit.com: search results - flair:Hill-top
thanks!
i have some quality sprinklers in my house only because i had moved rooms around and the new garden room wouldnt fit another 5x5 planter so I had to make due with what would fit- the quality sprinkler just happens to cover that area the best. When designing things for my greenhouse mods/house i try to make sure they are set up for the iridium sprinklers
@hexed tangle i believe you can't plant trees in the interior plot of the greenhouse
They won't grow while the hops are there, but.... It is green house, so min max away
How much do you care about min max. I think if you use an extra sprinkler, rework half the green house plot, you can fit one more.
Oh? If you have a way to get 78 hops in there please show me
It's allll ABOUT the min/max
You're required to use 4 sprinklers in the till-able area in any setup, and this has the other 2 in the only 'dead' zones.
I'm not actually sure how you'd fit more
if you mod: better trees i think it is... allows them to grow with stuff near them, auto grabber will water the plants for you no sprinklers needed
78 hops?
Yoo did he just
it only works for you. that aisle walkway is unwatered. so it doesn't work for anything other than hops
so you get 1 extra hop, but you lose out on 3 fruit
That's an ingenious design though, for sure.
not enough for that min max, but if you only care about hops
yeah. you lose out on profit.
Hmm
(i lowered the sprinklers in field by 1, so you only got 3 taking up space.... but it also meant you just could not water all of it. concernedape really thought this through)
I mean if you want to manually water everything I think you can probably get 79
But it's 2019
Watering in the green house
if you manually water the interior, yeah.
OMEGALUL right?
what monster would do that
though... does that column with 4 trees grow?
Yeah, assuming you plant trees and let them grow first.
He said that heโll let the trees grow then plant
then... why not do that same column for all the other columns
the trees give a little more than the hops right?
Well I mean we're looking at the same image, you tell me.
Lol
1.3: Trees can no longer be planted on top of decorations in the greenhouse border, or in the corners of the greenhouse.
So you can only do the four-column setup in one location
I think in 1.1 you could have done 36 trees
Ohhh, yeah.
Well I'm assuming so, unless it's coded different? Since you can plant trees on the outside but still next to the border
That's why I was asking about your column of 4 trees. If it works on the border. Np
If it doesn't. You'd lose one more tree in your plan
Yeah, that's something I should test, actually.
Esp. since people apparently don't even know that you can put fruit trees in the tillable area.
The aesthetic will be a lot better if you can't, though. ;D
Aesthetic >=< min max?
Only when space isn't an issue!
But mostly because I'm tired of everyone answering "Oh 116 Ancient Fruit is the best thing to do in your greenhouse."
Aesthetic would be better if you could put them in the tillable area and nowhere else... ๐
If we're taking space-outside-greenhouse into consideration though Crystaliriums are miles ahead, assuming you replace the 376 keys you need with diamond-producing ones.
(Which also happens to be the number of kegs you can squeeze into the Quarry without having to use corners)
I remember hops was the most efficient. But you needed so many barrels for them, it almost became inefficient use of space.
Yeah, also tbh harvesting & moving hops every two days is a pain on that large a scale.
So in a private greenhouse settings, it worked.
But if you tried to do that everywhere, it's worse than ancient fruit wine.
If you really want min max. Ask pookachu to get you a bigger green house, mod in auto harvest and omega sprinklers and stuff
But that's not vanilla...
But anyways. Hops, is best even with trellis. Have fun with... Heh.
And 77 hops most profit
Was that a sdv key?
no
Well you entire farm isn't going to change much from what sprinklers you use
Are you looking for a setup with regular sprinklers and junimo huts?
(@grand lava You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
spring is in full swing! still not quite sure about shed placement and what pathing i'll use to differentiate areas, but pretty happy with how the overall layout turned out
@tardy garnet what mods are you using to change the way things look?
thank you
Does this mod also change the colour palette of the farm grass and dirt?
Or is it a different one
Looks like it does hmmm
Is there a way to have that mod only change the scenery, but leave buildings alone?
Yes, there are some that just change the grass or dirt
@indigo blaze these are the mods i'm using! -- map recolor: a toned down stardew valley -- buildings: eemie's seasonal victorian buildings -- mailbox: eemie mail box -- fences: yellog's wood fence
Nice, thanks for that
oh and also garden grass!
@hexed tangle i wasn't planning to, i made that pasture extra big so the pigs could find lots of truffles, but i think it ended up being too big. so may have to reconsider things haha
Add another pig pen, problem solved
Does the area of their inclosure even do anything in regards to truffles
Outside of things like getting their mood to max by eating wild grass
tbh i have no idea i was just nervous that since there are 12 pigs they wouldn't have enough room to find truffles but i'm not sure what the mechanics of that are
Fencing area doesn't affect truffle spawning, the pigs just need to be outside the barn. Generally you'll want a fence just so you don't miss any truffles
I'm working on a relatively casual farm, I've got my orchard / tapping trees, bee houses & barnyards placed so far
The red block is for the sauvignon mod winery
Hilltop map, right?
Another One
thanks! & yeah hilltop is my favorite map
here's my completed first version, it's a long term goal as i haven't even gone to the desert yet so i won't have iridium quality stuff or junimos for a long time but it's fun to think about ๐
i know i'm probably gonna make some people twitch in this server with how non-optimized it is >_>
Violently spasms
Nah, even my farm is built around aesthetics rather than productivity.
I wish there was more outside decoration stuff
Paths and fences and deliberate tree planting are only getting me so far :/
I'm looking forward to actually starting to build this in game though, I'm about to hit my first winter & then i can really get to work
There's a fair bit of furniture items you can place outside too
Yeah I wish there was way more outside decorations, especially lighting options
Have you looked at any of the mods that add additional furniture/lightening options?
There are a metric ton of them floating around.
https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/7hp3qs/combined_a_bunch_of_different_furniture_mods_to/
This person is running a bunch of them ๐
I have, I'll probably get more into them once I know what I actually want
My plan so far for my newest game... This is what I want... Not sure what to do with the left part of the farm yet..
well what i would do is have sprinklers and more crops in range of the junimo hut
I don't have access to sprinklers yet, yes, the basic ones which suck
the flowers part is for the future :p
also beehives make better money if there in range of flowers
Managed to sneak in another house for multiplayer! ...Just need to find someone to fill it.
Or just use it as extra space
