yup
how so?
i think if you hover over one of the icons, it will say something like "render farm"
bush/stump bug, @mystic halo ?
You're right! Thanks
https://upload.farm/static/renders/1Fnw5X/1Fnw5X-plan.png here's my farm plan 😃
@minor onyx yeah the bushes/stumps generated by the Paths layer of the map are still not showing.
that is super pretty
Thanks! It took a long time to plan out lol
Overall I think I've got everything I'll need unless I forgot about something
Yo! I posted this semi-finished design to reddit and asked for advice about whole down-right section. 15 people gave + karma but none gave any idea in 5 hours :D. Because of that i would like to try here. https://i.redditmedia.com/YuqtEkjC62O5h_asF2eGfUzUS4d8qnJ3uax80ApOfQ8.png?w=945&s=e15847abbb8e044f33961f5d926894a0
(dont mind middle empty spaces cabins doesnt render for some reason)
I want to start renovation process tomorrow morning so i will go and sleep now and start working tomorrow (worst case i will make it a forest)
Are you sure you put 2 spaces between each fruit trees down there? 🤔
Also, you can align the stable so it looks like attached to the house, some people do it that way
Yeah it looks like the fruit trees are too close together
you can make more space for your animals so you're left with less room in the bottom corner
I just feel stressed about how I’m on year 2 now and my farm is barely started
Idk what to do
I was thinking of doing a layout like this minus the slim hunt
Don't be stressed about something like that, there's no wrong way to play the game
Ye I’m on year three and I haven’t even started planning xD
That layout is really pretty though
What’re you planning to do in the top empty bit?
Ok thnx, I’m like I gotta design my farm but Im still trying to learn the game lol. And I have no idea lol
@gloomy pine i just reopened my first farm, which was at the start of year 2
i hadnt even finished clearing my farm lol
like, barely at all
so dont worry about it lol
Ok lol, how do you take a picture of your map like that?
should i focus on clearing farm? and if so should i replant?
i would just clear farm with spare energy, but its up to you
that sounds awesome
i wish i had done that
oh weird
upload.farm doesnt seem to render cabins
Hi! I'm new, nice to meet you all ^_^
Hey ^^
@fiery sorrel yeah it hasn't updated yet. The flamingo shows up as a painting from teh craftable xnb file. 😃
How do you upload your town map from your phone if it’s on your computer?
@gloomy pine 😄 I guess you would have to put the save file on your mobile by copy paste 😃
if you are sharing farms, this was mine before the beta broke it 😢
That's GORGEOUS Hisame
Thank you @oak flax 😄 ❤
Wanna share too! I still have a lot I'm unhappy with but it's been fairly consistent for a while
cabins* sorry, I meant cabins
Thank you @fiery sorrel ❤
you should see my immersive farm2 farm ❤ that mod is amazing!
i havent gotten to a point i'd call "done" on unmodded yet, so ive been avoiding mods
yeah well, I got all teh steam achievements I could get so I figure what else is left XD
thats a lot of barns
more piggies for me
they get enough grass?
fair enough
worse comes to worse, i lose a little bit of money on hay
true
it's just lesser profit
the only thing that doesn't make money if you buy hay is chickens without happiness
i go tiller artisian most of the time
same
i am still curious how some of the perks work in multiplayer
like, if you get bait master, does that apply to everyone? what if a farmhand gets it but not hte host
it only applies to you
good to know
im on year 2 and i still havent cleared my farm lmao
Why do you need to scroll sideways? My planner didn't even took that much of the screen
I have my Stardew Valley updated, yet it says that i'm running 1.2.33! Any fixes? (I use SMAPI!)
@gloomy pine Did you opt in to the beta?
I didn't xD Anyways I fixed it. Sorry 'bout the fuss
in fture maybe don't post in all three of the channels. just #vanilla-tech-support would have been fine
please only post in the relevant channel.
Anybody have some pictures of a forest farm I could use as inspiration to make mine?
Hello
Hi guys, can you edit in the shed in stardew planner? Im sure you could but i cant figure it out
@shadow fossil They were likely looking at a modded farm
No I don't think you can
I mean, it's not that big of a space, can't you just plan it out in game?

Whoa thanks for that. Didn't even know that subreddit existed
No problem
HOW DO I GET THIS
get..what?
this layout
in the game?
i really, really need to get into modded
woah that looks like an amazing farm
That layout does look wonderful!
@rigid grail, you just advanced to level 2!
Does the immersive Farm 2 mod also include the white buildings?
The switch doesn’t support mods does it?
no
switch just got hacked, i wouldnt ever expect mods like you have for pc, but maybe eventually you might see small mods
@rigid grail you should check out EimieStardew's dutch buildings, they are very nice 😃
Those are pretty great looking! I think I like the white ones better. It reminds me of the some paintings in my grandparents farmhouse.
awww, that sounds great 😄
@burnt radish, you just advanced to level 2!
Those look great too! Do you have your own mod?
opinions on this so far?
moved the barn forward so its not in the way (not seen in pic)
i wish i could see how it would look in stardew valley
like connected fences
You can @lapis hull ! If you click the render in season button it should give you an idea of how it will look.
oh!!
@lapis hull, you just advanced to level 682!
thanks
it's not perfect by any means but it works well
Personally, I don't care for having fencing around the crops. I like the spacing around the Junimo hut on the left.
Animals do not eat crops unless that is a mod thing.
i think im gonna remove the crop spaces in front of the house
oh
i always thought they did for some reason
heres my current farm
i just kinda wanted to redo it
Like I said, I like the hut on the left. Maybe you could have multiple (3-4) spots like that on the farm.
maybe
What is one (or two) things you don't like about your current farm?
dunno
i dont dislike it
i just think it can be improved
i wanted the barn and coop fence area to be bigger
& have one fence area for each
I think they are both fine. If you are playing MP, consider giving each cabin its own little section. I agree expanding the animal buildings look good. And I like how you opened it up to "waterholes".
i dont plan on doing multiplayer
i actually had a cabin on the newer one but it didnt show up
just in case i wanna invite someone
That's a good idea!
I also like having little forested areas on the farm. It is great for tappers!
that is a great idea!
Nice. I might going to steal some of your idea 😜
feel free lol
i looked at like 20 farms before doing this
theres about 550 farm spaces
less than i have now but i really like the look of it
But I'm so lazy to move everything around. Too many things to handle :/
yeah its hard
my plan is to move everything to the top left corner while im working on it
does it remove the animals if i move the barn/coop?
No
ok then yeah im gonna have to move stuff to the top left
and then work on that part last
Nice. Post it here after you done it
638 farming spaces
Hey Hisame, what mod was the first farm that you showed?
https://upload.farm/static/renders/1Fo8nO/1Fo8nO-plan.png kind of wanted to try the forest farm this time around? i still have to build all this in-game but i'm pretty happy with this design xD
Looks good! Just FYI you may have to move a couple of your fruit trees. I can't tell for certain. Generally the dark green won't accept them. I can send a screenshot if you'd like.
oh dang, that's a bummer. i'll have to make doooo
light green accepts them but dark green might also, but it might not
can animals go down stairs?
@lethal cipher, you just advanced to level 247!
Indeed can not
that's fine tho :P it's just for a general idea
i tried to make a plan for wilderness, i'm fairly happy with the result
the open area with beehives are player homes
cool!
that's acutally beautiful
nice
that feel when ive planned out everything perfectly, and i get in game only to find out most parts aren't workable due to shadows/mountains while it worked in the planner :')
That definitely sucks @full quartz! I had that happen when trying to plan a fruit tree orchard in the forest farm.
yeah,, i have mine on mining farm(my character is based around minerals/etc) and i tried to plan a crop area but alas
re: fruit trees on grass, there's a mod for that
You don't need a mod for fruit trees on grass. However you cannot place them on dark grass spots.
excuse me, why i cant upload my farm layout here?
I think you have to be a certain level.
@true matrix, you just advanced to level 1!
owh thank you
reach lvl 1 and you'll be able to :P
Justy 0/
Hunlo
Remember to make smaller farms pretty too!
nice
@hazy glen, you just advanced to level 1!
thnks
nothing better than some good paths
yeah. I never really liked that style where you have a bunch of those blocky paths going around the whole farm
or the underuse of stone walls
i might have to start using fences
i dont really see a use for them though
i just block stuff off with stone or wood paths
fences can be a good way to frame parts of the farm as well adding a splash of variety
yeah, they look very aesthetically pleasing
fences with the full paths look good
next playthrough ill try that, or if i ever do multiplayer
never tried multiplayer
@mint sand, you just advanced to level 1!
this is a design i'm rly proud of
neither have i, seems fun though
Oh it's super fun
yeah
very pretty
i dont know anyone else that plays stardew tho
you can find someone in the multiplayer channel
i originally had a plan to make like 16 sheds for iridium wine, but luckily i read the wiki pages
Met friends there
do you guys think multiplayer will be cross platform?
It will
well i can ask anyone in there if their up for it
Its just in beta
oh yeah
nice
but see what I mean about stone walls with default paths?
yeah, the only other person i know who plays stardew plays console
yeah
i might redo my current farm once i get the rip money clock
But I would reccomend going in the mulltiplayer channel and asking if anyone wanted to play
never failed me
@gloomy pine Is it alright if I ask what mod that is? The aesthetic one
that makes it less saturated
its the desaturation mod
ty
@lethal cipher, you just advanced to level 248!
dammit lewis
o wow
@hazy glen, you just advanced to level 2!
nice
bots following me
Is there a game category for farmhands to join? just looking to level something for someone, fish, farm idk xD
you could go to #multiplayer-lfg-old and ask there
thx
@willow relic, you just advanced to level 1!
am i still canot upload photo yet?
@wise linden, you just advanced to level 1!
now you can!
ohh XD
nice
Any advice for the blank space? i think i should add more farm, but idk XD
It looks like you could add another junimo hut there. alternatively you could move the slime hutch down there and surround it with a "forest"/
@wise linden thats a cool farm!
What's wrong with sheds for iridium wine? Is the idea that fully upgraded barns cost less?
I wish you could "build" water tiles for like rivers and lakes.
@next flax Fully upgraded barns cost significantly more, but have the best internal space to outside footprint ratio
Is it possible he was also referring to only being able to use casks in the cellar.
And yeah @wise linden I would just add more crop space
I'm planning this for my 'end game' farm - right now I have Kegs out in the open while I collect the Oak from my Quarry tree farm.
https://upload.farm/static/renders/1FoEVT/1FoEVT-plan.png
The right barn is full of pigs, I plan to fill the coop with rabbits until I can get every villager to 10 hearts (for easier rabbit feet?)
After which I'll probably sell them and replace them with another pig barn.
I think the barns would have enough space for all the kegs needed for the crops
depends on what you are turning into wine 😛
if it's ancient fruit then 1 keg can support 2 plants.
@rigid grail, you just advanced to level 4!
Ohhh - is it not 1 fruit to 1 keg like hops?
I'm confused - it looks like Ancient Fruit reproduces after 7 days - and wine processing is 7 days in the keg.
You are correct Xeno. When I say 1 keg can support 2 plants I mean if you are processing over the entire year. 1 plant produces 8 fruits over the year (grown outside). 1 keg can process 16 fruits over the year. Therefore the minimum number of kegs you need is 1 for every 2 ancient fruit plants.
Here's a forest layout i made today in case I ever end up making another file lol. https://upload.farm/static/renders/1FoFWH/1FoFWH-plan.png
Not happy with how hard it is to have junimo huts around the crops in this particular layout however the grass makes it look really nice so I shouldn't complain too much
Wasn't able to get a huge amount of crop space
I think it looks good! I like the added wells and trees on the left.
Thankyou!
This is the forest farm I have right now. I think the fruit trees are going to need replaced.
Nice! Are the fruit trees actually able to grow there or no?
they are
some of them can. there are a couple that I am concerned cannot grow..
Maybe I'll add some to my layout then. I usually don't care too much about fruit trees though since I can have two of each in the greenhouse
they do look really nice outside though
Wait.. you can grow trees on the greenhouse entrance?
yep! same is true with grandpa's grave!
what about fruit trees?
@tired lodge, you just advanced to level 2!
I am not sure @tired lodge... I haven't tried it.
🐬
Any plans for the stardew valley multiplanner to be added for mobile use?
Mainly for the times I am not home and have some extra time on my hands to design a new layout for my farm instead of using valuable farming time 😉
Planner mobile support is currently not planned in any near future (for either SP or multiplanner). It would probably be really difficult and annoying to use.
I'm pretty sure mobile still renders the plan and you could have your tablet to look at it
but making modifications isn't currently possible due to missing touch events
I see. I thought it wouldn’t be hard to implement since you are using a grid system for placing stuff and not a free placement system. Predefined restriction zones for buildings and other various decors / equipment. Aura toggle to enable a certain building / object to show its range of effect for example junimo huts and scarecrows.
If only I knew how to make an application I would love to take up a project to make something like this for mobile. Sadly I do not have the time anymore to invest into self learning the skills required.
can soemone help me with a forest stardew valley farm idea ?
r/FarmsofStardewValley: Share and discuss the farm designs you've created in Stardew Valley!
FarmsofStardewValley: search results - flair:Forest
Maybe some of those layouts can give you some starting ideas
@gloomy pine This is my current forest farm. Some of the fruit trees need moved (which was an expensive 50k mistake). https://upload.farm/static/images/4/1FomdS/1FomdS-m.png
I'm in Summer year 2.
The animals need work too.
Thankksss
@rigid grail you are missing some junimo huts. 😃
Move that one cabin to the right above the pond. Move path so I connects down to the other path. And then you have a nice little cabin with a pond.
Another thing is that I removed fruit trees from my farm personally. I just have one of each tree inside my greenhouses. It’s enough for my purposes since they produce fruit all the time in the greenhouse no matter the season.
@timid lake I haven't finished the Community Center so no Junimo Huts yet.
I added the fruit trees because I thought they would give a little pop to the farm. And I don't have anything else to do with those areas.
And I posted it more for Zoe to see an idea of a forest farm :)
You can do bees in those areas.
True. And the flower pots would be good for that. I was planning on putting a few beehives above the small pond.
Can you sprinkler water things in the flower pots?
I was pondering about trying out a flower pot for the beehives...but iuno
@clear nimbus Unfortunately not
Also, Goblin, the cabins don't take up a ton of space, I'm honestly not sure you need a plan that's multiplayer specific or anything. Basically any plan will work. Just put stuff where you and your friends want to. If you have the start of a plan do feel free to share it here :)
do i need to build multiple stables for multiple people to have horses?
Hey guys, I'm making a farm plan and this is what I've done so far. What do you think?
I like it! I would be worried about the grass spreading and causing crop destruction though.
Oh yeah I didn't think about that
I dunno if it destroys crops though
Thx though
I'll keep it in mind
It does. Not immediately. It's the "spreading weeds caused destruction" thing that pops up.
oh ok
@lethal cipher, you just advanced to level 254!
ty
i didn't actually know it could
i might fence my crops in then
also i think it might look a bit more tidy in game
hmmm
i could use some advice
dunno where to put everything ehgehuyhg
itsannoying me
@grand onyx, you just advanced to level 1!
Looks pretty so far Maddie. I like the path around the lake
i dunno where else to put things
If you're looking for more places to put stuff, I sometimes use the two left alcoves on the forest farm for the barn and coop.
You could also start a tree farm in one of the open areas, so you can start tapping them for resources
hahah, a lot of us have at least tried it once. I like it because it is a good balance between pretty and useful. You still get decent space, plus forage items and an endless source of close hardwood. Makes fences and the stable really easy to aquire.
that's true
I think they're all pretty, actually, but I have trouble using the fishing layout because of how tight space is, and I have trouble filling the standard layout in a way that looks pretty because it is almost too big.
i have a really hard time filling up layouts like the forest farm and standard because i don't know what to do with all the space
so plots like riverland and mining are better for me because everything is divided up into sections
That makes sense!
Ill honestly probably end up deleting this save
cause it stresses me out thinking about the layout lol
@frail salmon
haha that's fair. I've been meaning to try the mining and riverlands layouts again so I may do one of those next.
forest farm has the least plot space though
Even compared to riverland?
lol ofcourse!
iirc Riverland has less over all space but more tillable ground compared to the Forest farm.
Makes sense
cool
I see a lot of forest farms is there a reason for that or is it just a coincidence
Because forest farm (for me) have the best looking and useful layout + resources
That's a lot of bee hives!
Standard and Forest are probably the most popular layouts
I love forest
it's my favourite farm for many reasons
I'm not going to bore you with my explanation why though
cool
what do you use the sheds for
rip me when i started i made my cabins spread out so now planning is hell
@jolly goblet, you just advanced to level 1!
can the small bushes on the farm be removed or are they permanent?
if they can't be removed, wouldn't it be better to show them on the planner?
for example the red marked tiles on the hill-top farm can't be used if you account for the bushes.
it's nothing majour, but especially the one at the top of the farm / below the pink tree is dangerous to not be in the planner as it's the perfect spot for a barn/shed.
I agree ive had the same issue
It's permanent, that's why it's red in the planner so you don't put anything there
Oh I see.. Sorry I don't know
the planner happily lets you place anything there
Heh really? Gold axe?
i cant remember what upgrade
but you can
same goes for forest farm
forest farm you can definitely break stuff with a copper axe or better, i did it myself
Maybe gold, because I have steel axe but can't chop it down
hmm or iridium
Oh only in forest farm?
i know that you can for sure on the forest farm, but i can only guess for the others
might be only forest though....
I am on the standard farm and can't chop things down
they did allow it for forest because it has so many
I see.. That's a nice touch though
yeah maybe only on forest
i actually keep most of the bushes on forest
i only remove some because i have stuff there
but i keep most of them for decoration purposes
i always try and make my farms look as nice as possible
hey i made the mistake of picking spread out cabin
so this is my layout im planning
so if anyone has some tips thatd be great
this i my setup so far
^
I don't think those two junimo huts can cover all those crops
Thankyou so much lyka i had no idea also im gonna put scare crows that just the bare bones
tanks
am I the only one who immediatly starts the plan on day 1?
No definitely not
i place the crops excactly where they will be in year 3 on day 1 xD
i do the plan straight away
I have several plans based on what I remember to do 😂
I have enough foresight to realize I might space out some stuff
man I'm going to go heckin overboard for fall 😂
xD
I might add some more crops to my plan in the empty spots
also i know excactly where my cabins for multiplayer will be and everything else (for once!)
How’d you get the red border thing on the planner?
there is an option in one of the top left tabs
i think its like restrictions or something
Anyone know how to get a multiplanner code? I pledged on Patreon already and it says to ask on discord.
re: farm bushes
only certain ones can be broken
the ones around the cave entrance and near the pet area, for example, can't be broken
@scenic spear A multiplayer code for stardew valley?
Oh do you mean a code for the multiplayer planner? No clue
@scenic spear I've sent it to you in the Patreon.
For future, I need to give it to people, so just contact me for it.
Thanks, @warm linden ! Sorry for the hassle
Oh no, the latter note wasn't for you, but for Odin : )
so he knows next time to tell people to wait for me to be around
Can I post a link of my planner in here?
Of course!
The render option in the planner doesn’t seem to be working for me, not really sure why. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
What do you think?
The area above the right pond is my storage area.
How do I render?
There is a purple menu on the top right, where you can choose season in which to render
and then you have to wait a bit and a separate page opens up with the image
yeah, same image as above :)
@warm linden, you just advanced to level 10!
you should plant some crops as well :)
i have some ancient fruit growing.
i am gonna wait for summer because i just redesigned the entire farm.
like
hardcore.
any suggestion on what I can do with this bare area? 😮
(also is this the right place to ask?)
yes
@copper finch yea, right place
thanks!
Is it weird that I set my rendered plan as my desktop background?
you could even print a mug out of it
:O
ok how do you get the mousepad
just look for printing places that make posters out of custom images
planner doesn't do that, if you thought that :p
hehe
but you can just send them the image
and nowadays they print onto pretty much everything
cool!
so no, having it as desktop background isn't werid
if you'd have a blanket on which the plan is...then maybe
it's just that i never usually make a farm that i'm proud of, but this time is an exception since for some reason i'm super happy with it
wait you can get blankets?
xD
nah jk i might not get a blanket
oh my gosh
thank you very much xD
i love stardew valley anyway
i might get a mousepad and maybe a mug
not anything too big
that was a random site, be sure to look up the closest ones to you for best price and quality etc
yeah, no problems
if you do however
don't forget to throw us a picture
how it looks
okie
I've been making a plan for my singleplayer farm https://stardew.info/planner/massive-hound-21/
@lethal tinsel that's pretty freaking neat tbh
I still want to make it
Just so you know, in the top right there's a purple button that lets you render the farm so it looks a bit better when sharing :)
It's a good layout, but you'll probably want more lightning rods
And a few more of the regular trees so you can tap more than three at once
I think Attachments are disabled
@lethal tinsel, you just advanced to level 1!
Oh wait nevermind
I think the renderer misplaced the trees
well they are not as I want them
all need to be one up
Yeah you can't until you reach level 1
And you're right, it looks like it put the trees in the wrong spots
well only on the planner, they should all be higher but I didn't know they would render this way
I get the idea
maybe I will do less fruit trees
and put tappable trees in other apots
I only have a couple of main ideas I really want to do
which are the tree lined paths, the main field below the house
the two animal fields
and the berry farm in the bottom left
@lethal tinsel just an fyi. When render the trees at "planted" at the middle bottom square.
And not in the center of the 3x3.
is there something like plan to save website?
@waxen veldt what do you mean?
How do I view more "useful" layouts on the website?
Not sure what you mean by useful, but there's a layouts drop down
If you hit the big delete icon, it'll bring you to a starter page with a bunch of sample layouts.
Yeah on regular stardew.info there's a "useful" category but only shows a handful
Oh I see, the ones that show crop designs and stuff
hey
I did my first planner map to try and work off of
i like it!
You might want to put down some sprinklers for all the flowers, but it looks really good!
i might wanna use that layout lol
hi
ih
how i use the map
@gloomy pine, you just advanced to level 1!
What do you mean? Do you have a specific question about the planner's functionality?
hihi, i just started playing sdv 2 weeks ago and found the farm planner to be really helpful in setting up my ideal farm. i'm a bit confused on how some farm planner screenshots show the full objects (buildings, trees, etc.) and some only show the square space taken up?
theres a website you can use but i dont remember the name at the moment, does anyone else remember?
i believe it may be a mod
so its pc only sadly
deng :/ if anyone else happens to know the website/mod, please feel free to @ me!
@raw isle, you just advanced to level 1!
You might be thinking of https://upload.farm/ @raw isle
this shows all the building the planner is specifically for setting out stuff
if the screenshot has UF in the corner thats a upload farm thing
ohhh
if i render the planner layout, it creates an upload.farm for me
@river jackal i appreciate your help!
Hey @warm linden, is there any talk of creating accounts on the planner site like there is on upload.farm?
@rigid grail It has been on the table, but haven't gotten further than that. I think it's one of the goals in Patreon, so it might happen at some point.
Gotcha. Thanks for the info!
Looking for some layout inspiration. My plan is to do mainly wines/beer/pale ale/mead. Found some but looking for more layouts to draw from. Idea would be to collector honey until winter, strawberries in spring for wine, hops/wheat in the summer, and cranberries in the fall.
You plan on using junimo huts?
How much are those?
You have to complete the Community Center first and do a couple tasks for the Wizard. They cost Starfruit, grass, and probably stone but no gold.
Nvm found it! That will be my eventual plan yeah
@fast crest, you just advanced to level 1!
EPIC
Oh wow
How do you get to the huts to collect everything?
Or do you wait till end of season and rid of the trellises?
Straight production! I am going to go for an aesthetic look, but this might be good for just straight money and beer
The junimos can walk between trellises
Also @fast crest you only need two scarecrows per hut in that layout
@night eagle Oh do I where
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
In line with the middle row of sprinklers
I think your hut is one row forward compared to what I did, but that doesn't matter
is there a point to the slime hutch?
@night eagle Thanks for that my game keeps crashing because there are so many things happening on screen at one time I need to delete some stuff
The slime hutch lets you keep slimes. It's never part of a mix/max game, but it can be slightly more fun than raising chickens.
Wait why is your game crashing?
Slime hutch really shines when you get purple slimes so that you have easy access to iridium
oh do the cabins not show up on upload.farm yet? just tried to render but nothing showed up
They don't indeed
oh ok
@night eagle keeps crashing watching my junimos harvesting
so am i eight in saying the slime hutch doesnt have much use unless u get like purple slimes
apart from being like. fun
It looks cool too
Yeah, it's more of an aesthetic / fun thing thank anything else.
personally i never build the slime hutch because i find no use for it....and it looks kinda ugly
like it doesn't fit in with the look of the other buildings and stuff
That's my chief issue with it. It doesn't match the other farm architecture at all.
It would be neat to either mod it too look more like the other stuff OR mod the other stuff to look more like it. Dungeon-style farm, great for the wilderness layout and a combat-oriented player
Oh I only have two huts, maybe you have too many or something?
Hey Y'all, I'm sure this has been asked in the past, but is there a way to fix the issue where the planner doesn't allow me to put floor tiles in boundaries that should allow for it? Using latest version of Chrome on Win10.
turn off restrictions from the options menu
on top right
to place floor tiles where ever you want to
I'm an idiot. Thanks for the quick and simple answer. @warm linden
is there some way to have the planner show where you can and cannot place crops?
@spiral carbon, you just advanced to level 1!
It looks like it just lets me throw crops anywhere. i'm using the foraging layout, and i'm pretty sure i can't put crops in the areas on the left where the hardwood trees respawn.
I don't believe you can Keen. Some of that you just have to figure out for yourself.
There might be posts on reddit or elsewhere with the spots mapped out.
Dang. Thanks for the answer.
For crops it is "easy": any tile that has any amount of grass cannot be tilled. What gets tricker are some of the tiles around buildings and the map edge.
https://upload.farm/1FqC1B THIS IS SO COOL
That’s her name, Philip.
I wasn't pointing out the farm that's cool, just the fact that I can upload it somewhere. That's awesome
@night eagle I have 10 huts on my farm Xbox one version
hey guys! i new to the server and i wanted to share my farm plan that i'm currently working on building in-game. i was going for something aesthetically pleasing while also having a decent amount of room to be able to farm. https://upload.farm/static/renders/1FqWMN/1FqWMN-plan.png
That's cool, spiritdancer! Also, welcome to the SDV Discord!
Welcome to the server! My only suggestion would be to move those kegs and preserve jars inside sheds, you'll be able to have a lot more that way
maybe replace the preserves with a flower patch? I see the one flower by the hives, but it would look pretty with a bigger patch of flowers
otherwise I really like the layout!

It seems like a good idea! I'm probably do that with the patches of plain grass that I have in the lower part of the farm.
any plans for fruit trees?
There are fruit trees! Right below the lake on the right.

It's hard to tell the difference on the render.
Oh! I see them now!
i may just be dumb but when i click save it doesn't seem to do anything??? is it supposed to save to my computer cause if so i don't think it's doing it?????
Hey, I became a patreon supporter, but how do I get access to multiplanner?
@tidal fox It'll save to a link so that when you go back to that same link your work will still be there. It's not supposed to save to your computer directly.
thank you so much @supple horizon !!! i get it now thank you!
you're welcome!
@terse iron you need to ask me :)
I will message you the ID in Patreon, check your messages there
@warm linden thank you 😃
Multiplayer plan?
Yeah, hoping it'll come to Switch soon 😃

Sometime later this year, we just don't have an exact date. Your plan looks good though!
Oh my lanta this tool is amazing. I know what I’m doing as soon as I get home from work. 😂 Plan all the things!
made another farm plan, probably the one that i'll be using when i start my new farm
I might recommend a layout that could be upgraded to iridium sprinklers, but it looks good!
I like the aesthetics of the plan! I would put your stable closer to the house though. It is slightly inconvenient to be in the opposite corner.
That's true, I'll probably switch it out with the silos.
You could even put it by the sell bin.
my plan for year 4
nice
only thing i would do is add variety to the cabins
maybe a different type for each row
oh, that'd be a nice touch, will certainly do
How do you move the cabins?
go to robin
Was that added in todays patch?
Because buildings weren't moveable last time I played
Are you playing the beta?
Alrighty I will check it out
How do I plan a farm with just Slimer hutches everywhere?
What do you mean?
just put 'em where ever?
but slimes egg not gonna trigger until you're build slime hatch tho
Wow that’s so lovely!
You can get a pretty texture for the water/earth obelisks that go with the buildings if you want but damn that’s a nice farm layout
@rough fable buildings have been moveable for a while now. Maybe since 1.1? Certainly since 1.2.
They disabled it in multiplayer for a bit because it caused crashes but it's re-enabled. (You could always do it in single player, even in the beta)
@rough fable the host can only move buildings when there are 0 players
^singleplayer
In the last couple patches it has been re-enabled for multiplayer. 😃
I wish there was a feature where you could import a farm plan from an image or something
what would make me happy is being able to export characters to use on friends farms
so you don't have to start a new character for each MP session
I wouldn't even mind friends being more experienced than me on new farms, could write it off as hiring an experienced farm hand lol
That would be nice. Though a lot of things are equipment based, or getting your farmhouse upgraded.
Even an import character style would save time in creation. Lol
well ideally it would give you the same level(s) on skills as the lead player, maybe you could even choose where to place your levelups ex:
Host has 3 lvl 5s, 1 lvl 3 and one lvl 6
Joining player can use 24 lvl up points
but I wouldn't mind full imports either where I could take my maxed character into a friends new farm or vice versa. Maybe a Host option on preference...
Oh that would be amazing. Letting you level up to the host!
I know it's been possible to move buildings through Robin for a very long time in the single player game, even the multiplayer mod allowed you to move buildings, but the beta, at least up until 1.3.11 you couldn't move the buildings around. Glad to know they implemented that back in, because on our foraging map, some of the cabins are in very not good places.
Moving the cabins in single player was enabled in 1.3.6 I think, long before moving buildings was enabled in multiplayer (1.3.14). So you probably could have loaded your save in single-player to move them.
Yeah, I did that a couple times with my playthrough with my husband. Play a day in single player, move/delete buildings, go back to multiplayer.
I didn't even think of that :c lol
not sure which layout i like better for my sprinklers
also i cant decide how to fill in the empty spaces
put fruit trees! :D
at least, in the space below your crops
i dunno which setup i like better for the sprinklers
left side is easy to integrate a junimo hut into
but right side can grow giants
the left side looks prettier to me, but I see what you mean about giants.... probably best to stick to right for more profit
eh, not sure im worried about the profit tho
id want giant crops just for the hell of it
can never have enough :P
god i wish stardew planner had a copy/paste function
I agree, i think i like the left side layout better
also was too lazy to put the trees back on the left
oh that looks lovely
idk how you feel about raising animals, but perhaps something with them?
a coop could fit wonderfully in the square to the right of the bottom pond, and a mill or two easily to the left
then maybe cabins all along the other empty space?
you also have room for trellises
Where would you put trellises?
also cabins on the side could work, tho this is my solo farm
could still have them i guess
you could use them as room showcases
^ a smart idea
oh well. It looks quite lovely!
Yeah i rather like it
of course i wish i could do a row of mushroom trees but
god that would take forever
I mean, you have the space, what with those rocks next to the oak/pine/maple trees
but agreed, it'd take too long
well thats gonna be a second set of oak/pink maple
with a path down the center
i just had to redo it and was too lazy to put the trees back
but the center path could be modified for a row of shroom trees
hm
yeah not seeing a way to add mushroom trees in the planner but i filled the trees in and moved the hutch because it was bothering me
I love it, the space is utilized so wonderfully yet tastefully 💜
you did great man :D
should i sell my truffles as is or make them into truffle oil? since all mine are iridium quality, they sell for 1250 each. the wiki says one truffle oil sells for only 1065. does the quality of the truffle stay with the quality of the oil?
no, but if you have Artisan from level 10 farming then the oil sells for 1491
quality of the truffle doesnt matter for the oil
okay thanks
np
You could add a honey area if you have some space you want to free up
does grass stop fruit trees from growing?
@meager ember I believe grass does impede fruit tree growth. Once fully grown the grass (and other objects) will not stop the tree from producing fruit. However the fruit will not age (ie after each year of growth produce a higher quality fruit).
@rigid grail i can say pathing does impede fruit trees from producing fruits
i had 2 fruit trees out of 4 trees that did not generate fruits for 3 straight days, the reason...they had a path of cobblestone that i placed at them by mistake.
Really? It used to be that as long as you kept the area clear until they are full grown you could put pathing around them safely. 😮
Wait, wait! @rigid grail if I leave the fruit on the trees it gets stars over time?
Or the older the tree it'll start producing starred fruit?
Looking at the code, I see nothing checking anything near the trees when it does the fruit stuff. It could be that the tree isn't necessarily fully mature when it looks like it is, so having paths around it may stop it at a bad point?
@versed reef the older the tree gets (without having stuff around it) the higher quality the fruit will be. It is a year for each quality though.
That is really cool! I have never seen that. Does that happen in the greenhouse, too?
Ah, that may be affected by stuff around the tree.
Yep, it totally works in the greenhouse!
Do you think this is complete? The seemingly empty spaces in the top right of the map are for multiplayer houses
it's very pretty, omg. Nice utilization of the forest, you rarely see those
Lol i wanted to make one myself for that reason. The forest map is the nicest one
I'm not sure how the berry bushes and other shrubbery would get in the way though
Does anyone have an idea as to what i can do with 18 beehouses here and have it look nice?
for sizing, im in the area between the main players house and the small lake on the original farm
You could try doing something similar to what i did in my (possible) plan?
@supple horizon ill try that out
i ended up going with this, i think ill put the flower where my player is standing, right in the center :)
redid a plan that i posted here earlier since there were things i didn't like about it
You'd be a lot better off using a few sheds rather that just leaving kegs out, but the overall design looks really good. My other concern is that I'm not sure you can easily upgrade this layout to iridium sprinklers later in game.
Yeah, I really wasn't going for what would allow me to produce most product with the given space. It was more for aesthetics while still allowing me to get use out of the space I had.
Well everything looks good then!
@ebon loom your lightning rods and silos are they only thing I can that will be majorly effected by shrubs. Additionally tall grass does not grow on small grass. So if you want your animals to eat outside in that location then you'll have to continually reseed with grass starters.
My current (and first) farm. Need to rework the tree farm to the south east. Using it for oak resin and such. Also looking for ideas on the far west and bottom south west. Originally i was going to make more keg barns...but I honestly think 2 will be enough for this run...
Do lighting rods need to be placed apart or in special spots?
I placed em apart
But i do see some people put it in a spot
Make it look like a power grid or something
Ah okay.
@rigid grail Thank you so much for letting me know! I appreciate it <3
Going with something like this instead, there are a lot more shrubbery issues but i'll work it out
I need help I want to create a visually appealing orchard for wine making but still have a few crops problem is I’m an air traffic controller and as you can imagine someone who speaks from a kind of script all day I’m uncreative as fuck if you have any plans I would greatly appreciate them
What kind of wine do you want to make @clever bridge? Do you want to focus on trellis crops? If you could give us just a little bit of direction then I think we can come up with some good ideas for you!
@ebon loom what year?
I want to make fruit wine that come from fruit trees and I want to be able to do seasonal crops so that I can still enjoy that experience and I want to do the kegs in sheds not barns
@rigid grail
What layout are you going to go with?
The standard
(@clever bridge You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Well cherry, peach, and pomegranate are the best options for each season
Yeah I filled my greenhouse with peach and pom trees did wine!
Anyone have any more good wilderness layouts?
r/FarmsofStardewValley: Share and discuss the farm designs you've created in Stardew Valley!
reddit.com: search results - flair:Wilderness
@clever bridge Hmmmm okay, let's see.... if you want an orchard/winery then I would plant the fruit trees in rows, probably have separate "groves" for each season. Personally I would only use Cherry, Peach, and Pomegranate trees. For this set up I think shed would work well over barns for the kegs. I can try to do some math to see how many kegs you need per tree... I would probably have the orchards in the bottom left corner. You could do some flowers/honey around grandpa's shrine. Have the conventional farming just south of the house. If you want animasl then maybe have them in the bottom right. It would also be good to have some oak, maple, and pine trees for tappers on the farm.
well, if you want the wine finished asap, you'd need 7 kegs per tree
well, per tree per season
yeah but for QoL reasons, it would be better to produce the wine in batches a season later. So make cherry wine in summer, etc.
Doesnt change the math, though
unless you were trying to make a whole season's worth of wine in a week
in which case multiply by 4
oh, I didn't mean to deny that. It just seemed like you were suggested to do new kegs every day.
yeah fair enough
i would probably do a weekly kegging on sundays or what have you
although actually now that im far enough in that i dont need that daily money infusion you're right
i'd probably do it all at once
@clever bridge Keep in mind that sheds hold 67 kegs (plus 1 outside as a timer if you want). So I would determine how big you want your orchard to be and whether you want to have any left fruit that you don't turn into wine.
Or how much you want to save for processing throughout the winter
that is true. since there will be three seasons of fruits, Greg could process the wine for 5 weeks each then have one week leftover.
if im not just going crazy, that would mean 7 kegs could process 5 fruit trees (per season)
so 67 kegs per shed is unfortunate, but putting 63 in means 9 sets of 7, so 9 sets of 5 trees gets you 45 trees per season per shed
so the one shed can handle 45 each of the three seasons, which is 135 trees
regular giant fruit are 3x3 right?
so the sprite would be x2 of the orig. crop
approx
?
well its a different sprite
giants are indeed 3x3, but that makes it far more than double the size of the sprite, even if it was the same
looking at the comparisons of giant vs regular on the wiki the pixel dimensions look about x2
i'm trying to figure out the dimensions if I were to make a regular crop giant that isn't already giant >> I just need to fix the sprites to look a little smoother and less shit when they're scaled up
but I gotta make sure that i'm using the right dimensions
i mean it sits on a 3x3 square, so it would make sense if the total sprite was 3x longer on each side
then why are giant melons only about x2? >> maybe i'll make it 2.5 just to be safe
unless you're asking something completely different and im misunderstanding
no you're right
i'm mostly thinking out loud so i'm sorry if i'm bothering you
it helps the creative process 😉
definitely not bothering me
and i understand completely lol
thats got it next to regulars
one each
all 3 giant fruit are 96x116
which actually is about the size of 3 terrain tiles which makes sense
however they're round
and other plants aren't as round
what are the sprite dimensions of the standard crops?
melon sprites overlap
yes
so maybe 48 by 48 makes more sense
however
i'm starting with the starfruit tree
which is probably stupid
oh god
really tall, yes
yeah but i figure if i start with a hard one the other ones will be easy
Might be better off structuring it like a tree or fruit tree
and having giant fruit in the branches
yeah maybe
if i make the sprite that large would it automatically overlap other sprites?
no idea
rip
its ok, i wont tell
is that
i feel like it would be easier if I had access to the source code to the mod tbh
6x6?
I would probably make it look like a palm tree with a giant fruit or several in the branches
i'm starting with the 3x3 ones but i'm gonna make sprites up to 11x11
it's a cool mod
anyway
lol i'm gonna move back to the appropriate channel before i make mods mad
@fiery sorrel @clever bridge back to the orchard wine farm. The number of kegs needed = number of trees x number of fruit yielded / number of processing weeks. Since a shed can hold up to 67 kegs, it can support 9.57 trees over a 4 week processing period. If processing over 5 weeks instead, it can support 11.97 trees (67 x 5 / 28). If there is just one more keg then you can have 12 trees per shed. I would probably go with the 9 trees though and use the off season to process something like Starfruit or Ancient Fruit wine.
@rigid grail Yeah i think that's right if you're waiting to process all at once, but if you are willing to do it every week you can get many more trees per keg/shed
@clever bridge I threw this together kind of hastely. I don't love it but it give you an idea of what you can do. https://upload.farm/plan/1Ft4oO
Oof I'm sorry I @'ed the wrong person! I'm so sorry about that!
@hot wadi I'm trying to start a farm and work my way to that farm plan as quickly as possible. I might get to that point around year 3. Why do you ask?

I only play with my husband who sits right next to me, so no real need for the multiplanner here. It is a great idea, though. 😄
Any good year 1 farm layouts that anyone would care to share?
@jolly goblet looks good but the smile ranch is useless so put some sheds there maybe?
*slime
Looking for tips to make more farm ... more 'natural/homey'?
Hmm how to upload image ...
i love the slime hutch
its not like you cant make enough money with 1 shed and the greenhouse anyways
