I am aware there are multiplayer issues right now, but my issues are getting weirdly specific, I'm hoping there's something I'm just... overlooking.
Like, people can connect with me when I'm hosting, but I can't connect with them, and only certain people can connect with me. Works with one friend, but not the other. Then it worked yesterday, but not today. The error logs aren't just timeout anymore either.
We're stumped.

So i dont want to @ anyone i dont need to but can anyone tell me if this is just a bug or something i did wrong. but went to the statue of uncertainty and paid the fee to change my profession from rancher to artisan. When i looked at my title it still remained level 24 rancher. Do i have the artisan profession and dont know it or something i did wrong?

Pointing to the bigger boxes at level 5 and 10 on the skill meter things shows which you selected for those levels.

Go to Robin, open the carpentry menu, and scroll to the cabin type that is not working. There is a "demolish" button at the bottom. And then you'll need the materials to build the new one, shown on the screen

@frosty monolith It won't affect your saves, just check all the game files and revert them if necessary. @novel olive You might try a reset, too, though I know you said you cleared the whole install first. Is there anything in your ErrorLogs folder? It should be in the same folder you'd find your saves.

Hi, I downloaded Stardew a few weeks ago on steam and I can't get it to do a first launch (says running for a few seconds and stops) and I've scoured reddit, official wiki, youtube, etc, etc and I cant seem to find a fix for myself. Hello, could someone help me? A long time ago I installed the smapi mod for the game, and it worked well. Since then, I've moved the location of the game data files around to make room on my hard drive using the tool built into Steam that allows you to move your game data to other drives. Recently, I tried to replay the game to try out the co-op mode, but I get an error when I attempt to launch the game in Steam. "An error occured while updating Stardew Valley (missing executable)".

I've tried: Reinstalling, verifying the integrity, installing to different drives, moving the current install to another drive, etc... None of these work, I still get the error. The only way I can play the game is to double click the executable outside of Steam. This runs the game fine, except I want to run it within Steam itself so I can access the feature that makes it easy to invite friends through Steam.

Does anyone have any insight into this issue?

If you leave the game running afk will it keep going? My kid left their game running overnight and claim it has jumped from fall all the way to next spring and has like 20 quests queued up in the mail, including all the winter ones. I figured there would be some sort of dialog that would pause it.. Anyone know if this can actually happen?

@valid wind lewis is a bot! There are known connection issues right now, so you might just have to wait. Look into port forwarding as another possible fix temporarily.
@torpid stone if you've tried everything in the guide, same advice.
@buoyant trellis yes it can, if you progress beyond the end of day shipping summary. Unfortunately there's no way to roll back the saves that far, though you can save edit/use SMAPI to adjust the date back

Heyho, I have a littleproblem. We would like to play in coop with 3 players. Two of them have the Steam version and one has a GOG version.
We tried it at three different times but we can't get it to work. Either we get the message that the version are not compatible or we only get the message that no connection is possible.

(1.4.5 is the latest version; the last number is the build, so it shouldn't matter. The game also uses the in-game version, not the GOG/Steam version.)

And catching anything, even trash, will increase your fishing experience, which will eventually lead to a bigger fishing bar, making it all much easier. You can also use the training rod to make things easier. Some fish can also be obtained in other ways than fishing, but usually very luck-dependant.

They seem to be there, but opening them in Notepad show an empty file, which according to the wiki, means a lost save, I guess. Is there a process we could take to get her save recovered? I think I may have discovered a glitch? I assume when I donate something to the museum, it fills the artifact spot for that item in the list of collections. I know I've already donated this item, and I even went ahead and changed my fishing profession, bought 200 magnets, and a bunch of treasure hunters and fished at the beach for 4 days straight, so that my odds of getting treasure while fishing were higher in an attempt to get the artifact again just in case it didn't log. I finally just got it, but Gunther won't let me donate it to him, the shell is very obviously already donated, but the spot in collections still won't fill. The description for the artifact is shown when I hover over the item, proving the game at least realizes I've donated it.. It's the last item I need to have filled every artifact slot.. help?

Hi, was wondering if anyone has been running into this issue recently. Two friends and I have been playing multiplayer on Steam for several months now but we've been having this issue in our last 3-4 sessions (so since about a month ago) where one player would get booted from the game after a certain amount of time.

Sometimes it would happen in just a couple of minutes of reconnecting but sometimes it would happen much later (but usually within 3 game days). Normally it would happen to the same player who happens to be connecting from halfway across the world. However, in our most recent session I was the player getting disconnected. We were thinking it might happen to the player connecting second but haven't gotten back together to test that. Didn't see anything in the multiplayer troubleshooting that we could really try. Thanks in advance for looking into this post

I don't know if this is the right channel for this, but I've experiencied this multiple times already and I don't know what to do / if it's a known bug. I'm playing on iOs (on my iPad) and there's a bug in which the music suddenly stops and it lags the game before ultimately crashing it. Before on 1.3.5 it would lag the map but restarting the app would resolve it, now on 1.4.5 the game just crashes before I can save :"D it is happening more often (it usually happens when there is a lot of music changes). I don't know what else to do haha

I'm having an issue with SDV Steam edition. I'm using an xbox controller and the dpad and joysticks are all messed up, I've tried changing the sensitivity. The issue is it doesn't move one tile at a time. I've tried unplugging my mouse. What you see here is me moving my joystick first and then swapping over to dpad.

My game keeps doing this and I am unable to play. I have no idea why. I just reinstalled it after months- I previously quit due to this same issue and I doubt it's much to do with the game sadly. I have no mods installed. This happens no matter what save I load up and I only have issues around 2-3 minutes into the game :(((

Hey guys I just have a brief question thats hopefully simple. I couldn't find it anywhere in discord search but where does stardew pull the name in parentheses from and how does one change that? It's showing my actual steam account name and not an alias while my friends are not showing their account name or alias its pulling from somewhere else? @lean moat SVE and Karmylla's maps aren't compatible with one another b ecause they both load the same maps. You need to pick one or the other. ( #archived-modded-support would be better if you have further issues!)

@vale tapir Not sure how much you've tried, it can be weird to track down. Common attempts for the white screen thing are playing in windowed/full screen (whichever you're not in), deleting startup preferences, pressing F12 in full screen, switching to or from integrated graphics if you have a dedicated card as well, CTRL-ALT-DEL and then cancel (probably same as the switching resolution really), reinstalling XNA https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Game_doesn.27t_launch

Does the latest error happen every time? After restarting Steam/PC etc? I'd try the reinstalling XNA thing and if that didn't work I guess we could install SMAPI to hope for an easier to read error.

@median crypt we have tried changing names many times, we stop steam save sync in case it was an issue with save files even installed steam and the game fresh on a completely different machine and still could not get the current steam alias to show up. I was curious if it was a caching thing but the names been changed for several months now and has never updated to reflect my steam name.

Where does stardew pull this info from? Im assuming the steamapi some how but I havent familiarized myself with it too much. Is it possible this is just a bug thats uncommon and as a result doesnt get reported and doesn't get fixed?

So when I go into chests, it puts a random thing from the chest into my inventory? Which I then have to put back, because I didn't want that thing. It's like I open a chest and bam! Random clay in my inventory. And then when I go out of the chest, my farmer will randomly use whatever tool I have selected. Is this a glitch or? Hello. I was wondering if someone could help me figure something out. I turned on SD to play today and noticed that when I opened my chests one of the items would transfer to my inventory without my touching it, and vice versa. I do use ChestsAnywhere and Automate, but I couldn't find anything on the mod page that this is something that has happened to anyone else.

the only farm that has any fish on it is the fishing farm. to catch anything you need to be in town, the forest, on the beach or at the lake near the mine

hello i have a big bug report on stardew vally mobile version 1.4.5.145, my issue is you know when you start the game you get parsnip seeds from mayor lewis? well im on my 8th year and i wanted to buy me some parsnips! so i did i let them grow and i put a few in my seed makers! well when it was done making my parsnip seeds i gathered them! but the i got the quest "getting started" cultivate and harvest a parsnip.. so i was like oh this isnt that bad its probly not gonna harm my game but rember im on my 8th year! so i went on and i did the quest again.. well i got the other quest "advancement" so i again was like ok um now what im on farming lv 10..... so i went to the woods and some of it was mildly corrupted.... and that is when i got really worried... well now my file is mildly corrupted and broken... i have tried to fix it by restarting the game... it did not work! so if there is anny way you guys could fix my file i would greatly appreciate it! and dm me if you guys need anny more info on what is happening! thank you and bye!

@round depot There isn't a central server hosting your game, just your (and your friends') internet connecting you, so it's totally possible to have localized connection issues. You and your friends might try all the usual "fix my internet" steps - resetting routers and computers, clearing caches, camping out on ISP doorsteps...

My girlfriend's stardew valley "Launches" but no .exe opens up. I've been trying to fix it for my girlfriend. I tried compatibility on windows 7, run at 640x480 resolution. Update graphics drivers. Verify game integrity. Clear download cache nothing works

I tried rolling back my save file to the previous day. I followed the wiki's instruction to delete the original save and savegameinfo and remove the _old suffix behind the backup save and savegameinfo. When I reopened the game, the game reloaded me to the day which save had been deleted and that save file got restored in the save directory. What did I do wrong?

@unkempt pecan did you have the Steam backup option turned on? If so Steam Cloud might have restored any changes to your save files.

hey guys, im becca. My friend recently gifted me stardew valley through steam, but i just havent been able to run it... the first time i started it up the first time setup stopped midway (dont really remember why, but im pretty sure i had to close it), and the game never fully launched :/. steam says its running for a moment and then it goes back to ready to play. I've tried everything i found on the internet, downloaded the redist thing to install it, uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice, and nothing works 😦 I dont know what else i can do

it kinda depends which mods you're using, if it's something that affects the mechanics like the CJBCheatsMenu, it will work for all players even if only one has it (from personal experience)

I hope I'm asking in the right place, but since last night I haven't been able to get the game to boot up without it majorly glitching out. I was able to play it the day before this started without any issues. I've completely cleared it on my Mac and reinstalled it on Steam twice to see if that would work and its still giving me graphical issues. I run mods, but again I've never had this issue before last night. There also hasn't been any error messages or notifications. The glitching does follow me to my desktop though, and I'm forced to restart to make it go away. Any help or ideas would be super appreciated. ;w;
