If you dont pick it up, itll stay there until you collect it. If it despawns somehow its still in the pool to collect again, iirc. If it didnt spawn after restarting the day it is definitely still in the pool and rng was slightly different

Not sure if this is the place for it, but here goes. I can't get into the adventure's club. It tells me for Adventures Only or something like that when I try. I've killed way more than 10 slimes. The only thing I can think of is that I accidently didn't accept the slime quest. I don't see it in my quests and I don't remember getting the rewards either, but I gather rewards pretty quick so I may have missed it. Is there anyway to get that quest re-issued to me or another way to get into the adventure's club??

Found a bug/glitch in the base android version of Stardew Valley:
When dyeing your clothes with the dye pots, if you chose cats for your favored animal, the graphic in the menu will change to a dog after dyeing them. Your pet cat doesn't change, but the graphic in your inventory menu shows as a dog, so the catperson value is set to 'false' in your save file. You have to manually change that value to 'true' in your save file if you want to get the cat graphic back.

I've done a bit more testing and I've determined that it doesn't happen when using the sewing machine to dye things. So there is a way to dye your clothes without the graphic in your menu glitching out, but it takes more resources and time.

hey guys, i cant start sdv, every time i try to start it with steam i get the Failed to Start Game (Missing Executable) message. i did try to verify the game in the local files section in steam, but it does nothing. i did try to reinstall it, i did delete the hole sdv folder in the common folder, and did then delete it via Steam. nothing did work. it does normaly start, when i just click on the .exe file in the common folder, but i want it to start with steam. can someone help me with this?

Hello, I have a slight issue and hope to get some help. I have a lot of mods installed and I am unsure what could be the issue, but I reccently went into the Winter Season, and now it takes about 10-15 seconds to enter any building. Can relatively minor save editing like editing the unused LuckLevel sometimes cause strange things to happen like:
Ladders suddenly appearing in the mines in the place of rock without the player mining it.
Or an NPC seems to have arbitrarily increased by 1 friendship heart or some small number of points.
Since both have occurred for me in a couple of in-game weeks. Nothing crazy or broken, but I'm curious as if some minor save editing could cause something like this.
Or if I'm just hallucinating.
Since I swear there was no ladder there, and this happened twice.
Actually, it almost looked like a slime stepped over the stone and it turned into a ladder.
Appreciate any informed or experienced opinions on this.

@broken maple do just the reset portion. And it explains what xnbs are in the links; tldr they are older types of mods. But the game files can corrupt, hence asking you to do a reset. Further help should be in #archived-modded-support though :)

Recently I purchased 2 copies of Stardew Valley to play with my bf. The game was great but we seem to experience frequent disconnections. Ranging from 5-15min into the game, the guest player will disconnect involuntarily while the host is able to carry on the game as per normal. This is of much frustration as we may had great luck in getting some items and a few minutes into the game, its lost due to disconnection. We have downloaded the latest Windows10 updates for the OS. Firewall on both our PCs allow the application so no issues there. Both our internet connections are fine, running optic fibre with more than enough bandwidth. If it helps, we both reside in Singapore. Thanks.

in regards to the needing to reset my computer in order to get SMAPI working right i guess i'll figure out how to do that but it only tells how to do it on linux and windows and i use Mac.
I install SMAPI on Mac command not the linux command it still works, just clarifying
so gonna try and figure out how to do this then as deleting all mods from my folder didn't change anything and they are still registering as being in the folder
also the page linked to me for assistance is for if your game doesn't launch- never said i had issues with my game not launching, was the Ran's mod not being removed despite not showing up at all that was the issue but ok, going with the troubleshooting for an issue i do not have.

HI I bought this game in December and played it one time, for 56 minutes. I tried to play it again a week or two ago and it just doesn't open up. I click play and it says I'm playing, a minute goes up on my play timer, then it just does nothing. Goes back to 'play' button. I tried looking at the discussions on steam for a solution but none really worked. Steam won't refund me the like $8 I spent on it since it's been more than two weeks. It's not really a game breaking bug or anything, But it kind of goes against what c.a wants
If you go to the shipping bin, and put an item in it, Turn the game off and on, then proceed to boot up the auto saved file from after you put the item in the bin
You can take the item out of the bin, and go to bed. The game registers the item still, and you get the money, But when you wake up, you still have said item

@tribal nacelle In Mobile Stardew, Flower Valley has missing acorn sprites each season. I think mobile CP just fails to handle the sprites correctly.
Sorry about that, am controlling my mobile from my PC. It's as crazy as it sounds.
Anyway, I edited the sprites as a workaround. Easy peasy.

i play with a gamepad and sometimes when i launch the game the cursor doesn't autohide. when it happens the only solution i've found is to reboot the computer. re-launching the game, disconnecting gamepad, toggling gamepad detection/mode in game options don't help. the gamepad doesn't seem to be behaving abnormally outside of the game (works normally in other games, input monitor doesn't show any weirdness). on debian linux / gog version, modded game. any possible solution other than rebooting computer would be appreciated

ok i tried this before and ill try again. When I try to play SDV, my mouse buttons switch, so that my primary is my right and secondary is left. Also, in the controls, you can rebind keys in the keyboard but not mouse buttons. Any solutions please?

I was at the mine and while checking for community center needed items and at the same time being standing up on some other item with full inventory, I couldn't get back from that menu (my character was trying to get rid of the item after picking up the new one) and, of course, since that's not a trash can or anything, had to close the game and load my last saved game.Any ideas? Or is it a bug indeed? Thanks!

Okay, I’ll write here, if anyone becomes interested, then he will be interested, and if not, then the bug is not particularly significant. The bug is that I went into the Leah house and lay in her bed all day, when she came she just lay down beside me, and then when night came (2:00), I fell asleep, and when I woke up I received a letter from Linus that someone was trying to rob me and he brought me home (I don’t remember the exact contents). I consider this a bug because I can’t understand how and why Linus entered the Leah house and who was the thief. It was all on the mobile version of the game.

@keen plover that's intended behavior, that letter happens any time you pass out outside of your house at 2 am. it doesn't make the most sense storywise, but there's no game behavior that counts leah's bed as a bed the player can sleep in, so for the purposes of the game you passed out at 2 am and were not home.

My game keeps crashing when I sleep on the night before my cellar is done. I have been through my mods to find conflicting ones. I reloaded old saves. Nothing is outdated but Stardust Core which works but has a file error that triggers outdate message. I do have a ton of mods so maybe I just finally broke it! xD Here's my log.

A friend and I are running into an issue regarding multiplayer connection due to a client timeout errors. Ingame error is "Connection failed" - looking into folders displays a text log with repeated instances of "Disconnected at : 22:17:52 - ClientTimeout".
We tried the C++ 2013 redis fix, connecting via invites, either of us hosting, direct connects and connecting when the farm appeared, but no success yet. Removing firewalls on my end has not helped either. Running via steam, both on latest version, both on windows 10. Any help is much appreciated.

I’ve been playing Stardew on the Switch w/ my gf and we’re encountering insane frame drops when the dinosaurs breath fire in the skull cavern
Like I’m talking 1 or 2 fps
And it happens even when she’s in there experiencing the fire and I’m not. My frames drop to 2fps even when I’m not in the mines.
Is this like a known bug or is there a way I can report this so it may be fixed in the future? It makes the skull caverns darn near unplayable unless we just instantly use staircases whenever we get prehistoric layers.

hey does anyone know why installing SMAPI makes my game not launch? (Im on a mac) After I install it it just keeps saying that the app is from an unidentified developer, and even after I click open anyway in settings the game won't launch. It does however launch when I uninstall SMAPI

Seems like a security setting thing. Apple recommends the following:
In the Finder  on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.
Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
Click Open.
The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app.

Hmm even if I click open from the shortcut menu the window saying its an unidentified developer still pops open. Normally when this happens I just go into settings and click "open anyway" and it'll launch. I think it might be because I haven't installed mono, I'll go do that and then try

I asked this a while ago but I’m going to ask again just Incase anyone knows or has experienced this or maybe my friend just has bad connection but every time we go to a floor in the skull cavern with the dinosaurs in multiplayer the connection lags out hard when they shoot fireballs. Most the time I end up getting kicked. It seems to be lagless other than that.

@clever niche Oh, I just replied to you on Nexus & then noticed your question here. Farm Type Manager is the reason Android quicksave won't work with SVE. It needs to save some monsters manually, and I had no idea Android had a quicksave. I'll get to work on it when I can~

I imagine so...people have been using Save Anywhere on PC for similar reasons, despite it being pretty buggy~
(SDV doesn't like to save mid-day if everything isn't just right)
incidentally, I do have code for that already, I'll just need to figure out how to make it recognize Android is saving

If you ever want a tester on Android you can feel free to ping me. I think with the Android option the quicksave deletes itself post load but not 100 percent on that.

Hey there, so I joined the server because I heard I could get support because I'm having an issue with multiplayer. A friend and I have gotten through 3 years almost to year 4 and suddenly I can't reconnect to the sever (she's hosting). Every time I connect it just says connecting for about a minute and then it fails. I've tried everything from restarting my pc to steam to the firewall and nothing works. Having the same issue ^

I just finished Summer of year two and both years showed 0 pufferfish within their given times to catch. Not a single one, which is really bizarre because in all of the other previous games I've had I always catch quite a lot.

So apparently the basement for multiplayer housing is broken. If you move your house after you get the basement upgrade, it doesn't shift the basement and you load into the basement off screen where your basement entrance "is now" rather than the actual entrance.

There are currently known issues with multiplayer connections and a patch to resolve those has not yet been released
However, an issue you are having may not be the same and can be resolvable, so it's worth trying the steps listed on the wiki

So was every single mod and glitch in Nintendo Switch patched? This seems ridiculous removing the most fun part about a simulation game: having access to the luxuries of materials in a fantasy world when you're dirt poor and struggling in real life.
Consider this, @finite delta - and I am trying to appeal simply from a human perspective in kindness - many folks are being laid off, losing their jobs, not able to leave their homes. Video games are an escape from reality.
Imagine not having any income any longer and just wanting a half hour to escape the unending stress and pain of not being able to get a job. You can't leave your house. Imagine playing something that just lets you believe, even for a half hour, that you're rich and can do more than in your control.
Since the beginning in Sim City, there's been cheats that the developers intentionally placed in simulation games to give people a boost. If you choose to play it the fair way, you can play it and enjoy it. But if you're playing video games as a manner of escapism, you're devoting all of your time into something that reaps no awards in life.
Each patch, it's been your mission to remove the bugs, but I argue that the bugs are what made these games fun. Imagine playing the original Contra (edited: autocorrect) without the Konami code. Sure you could do it, but it wouldn't be anywhere as fun. It'd be time consuming and frustrating.
With your upcoming patch, please consider a cheat command, just like The Sims have always done, and allow people the escapism that they really need. You can't do this on Nintendo Switch, and there should be a way to do so.

Hey Vain, Nintendo required that many of those issues be patched out because they were unintentional and could lead to crashes. It's not the same as a game having build in cheat codes

Hey all, I need some help. I installed Stardew on my Macbook Pro last week, and up until yesterday, it worked smoothly. Now when I launch through Steam it says the game is running, but never actually pops up, and it never shows up on the Force Quit list, as if it's not actually running.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, verifying game cache, uninstalling Steam, reinstalling Steam, and have been Google-ing for about three hours. All fixes I have found have been for Windows, but I have a MacBook, and no one seems to know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated - my mental health needs this game as a way to cope with current world events. TIA ❤️

Update on my connection problem: I use an adaptor to give myself 5-G internet on my old laptop, which works fine. But when I had it plugged in it would connect me to my 3G (which was already connected) and the 5G. Essentially giving me 2 IP addresses. I fixed it by just disconnecting the 3G and turining off "connect automactically". I hope this helps someone 🙂
