Well, Android just got the 1.4 update which adds a ton of new content, and it looks like there have just been some bug fix patches in the days since. That's normal after a big update and shouldn't last much longer

@hexed apex steam doesn't allow preventing updates on windows anymore, so I've changed it to update between 0400 and 0500 when my computer is asleep. But yes, it definitely saved my game and let me continue playing on Android :)

@hexed apex Stardew Valley is DRM free, so you can just make a copy of the entire game folder at a particular point you want to keep and play from it needed for some reason! We often do that in #making-mods-general ahead of major updates, to keep all our mods working in a backup until they catch up.

Well hello there.
I have a very annoying problem which basically breaks my game.
Every time I hover with my cursor over a field or these indoor pots to plant some seeds, my game takes 2-5 seconds delay and after that it simply scrashes.
I can´t plant and farm in my farming game ´:3
I have some mods loaded too but they work totally good together and every mod where SMAPI has alarmed me, I have deinstalled.
But before this issue accoured it all worked fine together. At some point where I didn´t even change anything it just crashed permenantly when I hovered over plantable fields with seeds in my hand.
I really would like to play my lovely game again without being scared of planting.
If you could help me out there, this would be really nice :3

Game was all well and good until I received the notification that the stork granted me a baby. Went to talk to my spouse, no dialogue came up. Kissed said spouse, walked a few tiles away, and the game crashed. Tried restarting the game and loading the save back up, but it got locked up and kept trying to load. Currently mobile is on 1.4.4 and PC just received the 1.4.5 update. So you can't transfer PC saves to mobile still. But older mobile saves from 1.3+ will work in mobile 1.4+, yes

Hey guys, ok I need help, I play Stardew on all Playforms aside from Switch, (PS4 PC XBOX and Mobile) I went to play mobile while laying in bed and my game updated about 2 days ago, the game has no sound, so I went to settings, they are fine, I uninstalled, re-installed, nope, then I went as far as uninstalling, deleting all files and re-installing... nope, what is going on? Has anyone solved this issue?

@hexed apex it is just the mobile version, I looked at the Dev Blog and he said there aas a known issue that was fixed on console for patch 1.4 of the game inizializing incorrectly and running no audio on start up, 1.4 is the patch rolled out to mobile.. so hopefully there will be a hot fix soon... I miss my sounds...

Yeah, I checked SDV volumes maxed em all and there is no mute box, phones media volume was all the way up, all other apps have sound just not SDV, I even tried using headphones to see if it just glitched, still nothing

Oye Taki beratna, :) I will try to find the crash log. I actually spent some time in the SMAPI discord, i tried installing it and posting the crash logs, but the only thing people could see was something potentially wrong with my ram, but I ran both burnin and memtest86 and nothing was wrong with the RAM.
The wife is playing and when it crashes again I'll see if i can find a crash log.
I see something about a !reinstalldeps, i am not sure how to use this.

(It sounds like Steam is syncing the files. You might need to launch the game, then minimize it to fix the files, then go back to the game and continue to the save menu.)

I was playing stardew valley and everything worked just fine... until I stucked at Rasmodius tower and waited until I felt asleep... than my game loads.. i was awaking at my house went outside and my whole field was gone.. in my mailbox was the letter of pierres the letter which you get on day one of the game.. but it was day 16 yr 1... So curious question but, how many folders deep can mods be, before they stop working? I was partially hoping to separate my mods into two folders for when I play multiplayer with a friends vs when I play alone?- I use a few less mods in vanilla. Was wondering if I can make two folders and pop certain mods in each one, and whether they would still work despite being an extra folder deep?

That would be called Mod Groups and it's possible with SMAPI

Using this you could have two different shortcuts to the smapi launcher which reference those two different folders you've made.
Singleplayer mod group and Multiplayer Mod group that you'd make through that guide, for example.

If she is the owner of the save, she needs to go build the cabin. It's available in both single player and co-op to build. Then if she's not in co-op mode, she'll need to save and restart in that one, and choose host

Xbox live, my son can join my game and we played for several hours, then when he went to rejoin, it asked him to create a new farmer (we created 3 cabins to start with) when he did, it was as a new farmhand (as expected) but there's no way to get to the old one. similar to this issue

@tribal nacelle so hard resets on both machines. Asked to create a new farmhand again. If that farmhand disconnects, resets xbox then reconnects it saves the farmhand. if the host shuts off and turns back on, it asks to create a new farmhand. it's like the host file isn't saving everything for the connected farmhands. but some of their inventory is stored in their respective cabins, so some of their information is getting stored, just not the connection to the XBL gamertag

My buddy and I have had a lot of lag, very frequent disconnects, and initial connection failures since 1.4.5 on PC/Steam. We've pinged google.com with hundreds of packets and had a max of 47ms with no packet loss.

We just regressed to 1.4.4 (by replacing the newly changed files with the previous and editing the save files to match the older version) and have had no issues. YMMV. Backing up your save is recommended if you try this.

Well ChuckleFish has gone and full on fudged themselves... they took Mobile Stardew Valley (which was playable just had no audio) and sent out a new update... now the game wone even open, it force closes before it even tries, I tried to uninstall and re-install.

@atomic hamlet You can try opening the saves and copying over everything from xml <Building> <indoors xsi:type="Cabin"> to the ending xml </Building> but make sure you back up the current save first - I'm not sure if that info lives anywhere else so it might take some poking around. There's some general save editing info here if you've never done it before https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Edit_a_save . Alternatively, you could just build a new cabin and install mods long enough to spawn their stuff back 😅

@noble wren On PC , you can edit the resolution in-game when you're full screen by checking the options menu under "Graphics." If that doesn't work, you could try editing your startup_preferences file, which is next to your Saves folder. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files.

On the Stardew Valley wiki, the tailoring page says there are three shirts that are unavailable. Will they be made available in a future update of the game? @stray knot There's a lot of content like that in the game files. Some of them are just items the game developers prototyped, never released, and didn't bother removing from the files; those might never be obtainable normally. You can usually spawn them with mods like CJB Item Spawner though.

Lumina is correct. You can only have 3 other people in a multiplayer game at once. You can destroy an existing cabin to kick one of the current players (they will lose any progress they had) and then rebuild that cabin to invite someone new

we tried online connection which gives an connection error when he tried to go in, we also tried making a new file which works just fine, but we wouldnt want to throw away our hours played in the previous save. it works just fine when I tried to played it. is it possible that the save file is corrupt?

also, the issue is not that there is no connection, its only one player that disconnects when a certain player is host (no disconnects if someone else hosts)

also the disconnects are random every 6-12 min, there is no apparent pattern except for the same error message in the log over and over (see above)

ooof. I'm getting this weird stuttering effect while I'm walking. Not excessively so, but every few tiles, it'll stop for the BRIEFEST fraction of a second, barely enough to be noticed. Then continue as normal. It's sorta disruptive, but ugh, I don't know what's causing it.

Hi folks, I am trying to play my game with some mods, and I am having issues. I created a save last night with some mods on my PC, and now I am trying to play the same save with the same exact mods on my Mac, and I can get to the main menu, but as soon as I load into my save, it gets past the load and then crashes. I can see my house, and character, but they are very dark, and barely there. It's definitely possible for the player to get stuck in spots if the map has changed. (During regular events, just to clarify, not the cutscene type of cutscene?)

As far as I know, that's not something that's possible. One player hosts the game, other players join them.

Even on PC with mods, the nearest you can get to that is having the host player stay online and have a mod automate the going to bed and stuff. If you have two saves, one with you hosting, and one with her hosting, you'd both be able to play on your own with your own saves, and connect to the other to play together on one of them.
