Hm, it does look like it's referring to a temp folder - can you open up the zip you downloaded, and then move the whole SMAPI 3.1.0 installer out to your desktop or something and try the install on windows from there?

I've had this issue since updating to 1.4. I run on Linux and have tried without mods on a new save, but the issue still remains. Whenever I enter Jojamart, the ambient sound loop will play for just an instant and then stop.

@pseudo sail - hey! we ran into an issue that may be related to this not too long ago, and it's fixed in the upcoming patch, but if you go into the options menu and scroll down, there's an option to change the online mode of the server -- if you change that value of that option from offline to online (or maybe even from online to offline and then back to online), does it allow your friend to join?

So the save is showing Summer 27 as well, it looks like you might have lost some save progress somehow. The display information is shown in the SaveGameInfo file, so it's possible that file didn't get rolled back

Hey! So I am having trouble transferring a save file from Mac to iOS. I downloaded Stardew on my mac last night via Steam and decided I would like it better on my phone, so after playing for a couple hours I requested a refund. My save file on my computer was saved at the time I stopped playing last night, so when I tried the transfer method through iTunes, it all looks good. But, after syncing and restarting everything my Stardew app refuses to acknowledge my save! when I press load, nothing shows up ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

The hope is it will force an update! We use this trick sometimes when it gets stuck. If you open properties, you can choose "view local files". The Content folder is in there - move it to your desktop temporarily. And then follow the instructions to reset the files and force an update

I'm running into an issue where I can't join a co op game anymore. Game was just created today, a friend is hosting it. I'm running it on a macbook air osx catalina. If I launch the game and click co op, the game crashes. Same happens when my friend sends me an invite through steam to add me to the game. So far I have tried verifying game files, restarting my computer and uninstalling and reinstalling the game. What can I do to fix this?

Multiplayer isn't available on mobile. The only way you could play on mobile with other people is if you use something like Steam Link to stream your pc game to a mobile device. That requires you to have the steam version of stardew and your pc running while you play

If you've been having issues, I would install smapi and grab advanced save backup as a precaution. It creates zips before each in game day of your saves, along with the regular save backup saving once per irl day for up to 7 days

You may be able to get the save back with Windows "Restore previous versions" thing on the relevant folder, or some external backup... But reinstalling the game shouldn't affect the saves anyway, so are you sure you didn't do something with them yourself, perhaps by accident?

Hello! I seem to be bugged into a black screen with a horse after riding it in Multiplayer and loosing connection.
We got rid of the stable and I opened and closed my game but nothing chages. I see 3 horses and if I get on-off them, they disappear. For the other person it says I'm in the house and if I take a screenshot, it shows my cabin.

Alright, this has happened twice now, on different saves.
Been playing on co-op with some friends (with mods btw) and all of a sudden one of their games crash and they can't join, just gets stuck on a black screen with the back button. I (the host) don't get any errors in my logs but there is errors appearing in my friends logs. This was on the day before the fall festival. We then abandoned that game and played a new one, and then the day before Fall 28th or whatever the Halloween event is, the same thing happened again! Black screen with back button.

@kindred merlin you'll probably get more help over in #making-mods-general but i took a look at that log and it looks like an error with Fast Animations, so try disabling that first. your friend also needs to update a few mods, including SVE and a bunch of framework mods. make sure all of you are on the latest versions of any mods you use.

I've been having problems with multiplayer and I think it may have to be with the custom map I am using. My bf recently got stardew valley so we could play together and I sent him my exact mod file so we have all the same ones, however when he tries to join my existing save file (with a cabin) it shows that he is connecting for a long time before saying "connection failed". We actually tried creating a new save file with the normal standard map and he was able to connect. Any advice? I tried looking it up on Google but can't find much information

Hmm, well you don't have a monster slaying quest in the save, so I think it's just a problem caused by that day's quest, and the reason it crashes when entering town is because it loads the quest data there to show the billboard quest icon...

So yes, I'd avoid that mod until it gets fixed. But it may be that only certain days have quests that make it crash, so you could try adding the mod again after you've completed a couple of days in game, and it may work again then, for some time at least.

Not sure if there is anyone that can help with the issue i have been having with SVE the first time i ran it no issues started just fine but ever since it gets stuck at the loading screen after i try loading a save and just freezes and there is no error message in smapi log its really weird i can get it to work every 15-20 starts not sure what's causing the hang up on the load not sure if its not finding a start file i copy the mod folder over on my laptop and it runs every time with no issues

Excellent. It may have just been your Mono install that was bad (it normally comes with the game iirc), but if you want to be safe, you can keep SMAPI installed. It'll auto-backup your saves for up to 1 week at a time and comes bundled with the debug commands mod if you get stuck with a glitch

Is it possible to restore my save file back to day 1? Meaning that I want to play the same seed again.
My first attempt at doing this was to create a brand new save file, rename the ID's in the save filename / save directory, and swap out the "uniqueIDForThisGame" inside the XML itself.
However, even after doing that, it seems like the world is already created, and the number of Spring Onions don't change. (I should have 22 Spring Onions on the first day in the game that I am trying to recreate.)

hey, im running on OSX through steam with SMAPI installed according to instructions. it launches fine through steam, and mods work, but i cannot get the steam overlay or achievements to work at all. any tips?

@steep geyser for name changes, you have to change the folder name, the name of the save files, and the name inside the same files. If all of those doesn't match, it crashes
@slender fulcrum i feel like im still not getting it. Corrupted the file (by my own idiocy but that doesnt matter because i wasnt that further then the main file) Im still not able to rename the farm name to make clear what save is what.

If you search up changing your name in stardew on Google, there's several step-by-step guides around. Did you make a backup before your started changing things?

Hi, any advice how to trigger unlocking steam achievements? I transferred my GOG save file to steam version of the game, and only some of the achievements were triggered, even though I have 4 years+ on this file

(I had to clean the <achievements> in notepad++ as the tutorial online instructed, but achievements as getting married or house upgrade didn't triggger :( )

from the main file i had a backup. from the secondary game were i was a few days further i didnt so thats my own fault. Somehow its not liking the (farm) name change, its both not showing up or not working. i do have a game working now were the secondary backup has farmname 2 so i can now kinda clearly see a difference between 2 games so its fine. @slender fulcrum

@hexed apex hey so me again. I tried doing the download then it took alot longer then i thought it would (took oven night) and then stardew uninstalled itself and now it wont let me reenstall it because every time it goes into the cue it uncues itself...

Have you tried deleting the Content folder and then reacquiring it, so that the old files are not even there? That and running Steam as admin are the only things I can think of besides maybe hard drive errors happening in the background.

Looks like some people ran into it with an overzealous antivirus, but that was covered in Strobe's link.

Hey everyone! Can anyone help me with PC to iOS file transfers? I started the game on iOS then transferred it yesterday to my pc. When i went to send it back to my iOS from pc everything seemed to work fine, until I opened stardew on my phone and went to load it, it said โ€œno saved games foundโ€. Donโ€™t know what to do now. The save file is still on my pc though!

iOS is still on version 1.3; you won't be able to play PC saves on it until it updates @jaunty marlin
