You can't transfer saves from 1.4 to a device running 1.3, if that's what you mean

Hey all, recently installed the game through steam. Game closes upon launch (white screen then crash) it appears to be a common problem and I have tried everything on every single wiki, board, discussion, etc. I can find. I made a report to the game devs but haven't heard back yet. Anyone here got any recommendations? One note - there was a repacked version of it on this computer before I bought the legit version through steam. I uninstalled the repack and deleted all remaining files related to Stardew. Not sure if that is what is causing this problem, I can't find any information online in relation to repack to legit install problems.

Hi, I have a problem in Stardew Valley. I was playing in an online multiplayer game on my PC. I went to my house to sleep and just after the game was saved, the game was closed. Then I opened the game again and they invited me. But, the world was not coming out even though they invited me. Someone could help me?

I'm having an issue when playing Stardew Valley online with friends. When Friend #1 hosts the game Friend #2 cannot see the game until after I join it, so friend #1 and friend #2 cannot play together on their own when they want to. Is this normal? What's causing this issue?

Good evening everyone. sorry for the trouble, I would actually need some help if someone knows what to do with a mono which isn't working 😦
So here's my problem, I just installed the last version of mono as mentioned in this guide : https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable/#download-lin
I also downloaded the SMAPI installer and installed it in my game folder and nothing wrong until there.

But when I try to launch the StardewModdingAPI.exe script, I got a bunch of

Your mono runtime and class libraries are out of sync.
The out of sync library is: /root/GOG_Games/Stardew_Valley/game/System.dll

in my console, and then at the end

SMAPI failed to initialize: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'System.Runtime.Caching.MemoryMonitor' threw an exception. ---> System.MissingMethodException

I don't know if someone could help me out on this one, i'm running an Ubuntu 18.04 and that's the first time mono is causing me those troubles.

The item ID glitch in general still works on PC, but Gus's dialogue has been changed so he doesn't constantly say the player's name anymore like he used to.

So m opens the map, that's mapped to triangle. I mapped circle to escape for menu/cancel. x is check/examine. and square is C. so what the fuck did I do wrong? The only things that changed were square and circle.

SO even demolishing the empty cabins, building a new one, and then trying to reconnect that slot is crashing. I'm going to forward this on to the devs in case there is a rare bug that happened here, but I don't know how to fix it so that you can play co-op on this save again 😦

If you're on Windows, there should also be a folder called DisconnectLogs next to where your saves are (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files) which can possibly have useful information (but usually doesn't 😄 ), though on Mac/Linux that folder will be in ~./local/share instead of ~./local/config.

Yes, the problem is SMAPI is also not running, so in the %appdata% folder is not been created a StardewValley folder, so the folder for SMAPI logs is not also created.

For signs and talking to people the curser changes to a text icon but in order to rad or initiate conversation the actual hit box is tiny and i need to click around to find it. This is a really basic thing but it makes the game really tedious to play (people just keep walking etc why I try to click). How to fix?

You can stop people walking for a short time by standing in front of them... May help?

You can enable the on-screen zoom buttons and use those to zoom in to make it easier to click on smaller things... You can zoom out again when you want to farm or whatever later.

Enable the "always show tool hit location" or whatever, if you haven't, that may make it more obvious what is happening. IIRC it may not be that you have to click on the sign or person, but on the relevant square next to your farmer.

Hello, I am seeking assistance on a certain issue. This past winter, I had collected the Golden Lewis Statue and as soon as I got it, I had placed it down in the town by the christmas tree/bench. However, it had disappeared the next time I checked and I did not get a letter from Lewis in the mail about it. It is also neither in Lewis or Marnie's bedroom. Is this issue known and is there any way I can get that statue back?

It's possible an NPC walked through it during the day, destroying it before triggering the letter. If you use mods, it is quite easy to spawn a new one

thanks, I did a search and couldn't find anything. The cursor is changing to indicate that something is selectable and can be clicked but the click hit boxes are nowhere near. The game is pretty much unplayable for me. I can't believe this isn't a known issue actually

i have the same issue as shovel i can't get coop to work online (bought it through steam, online, steam overlay is enabled/i am online with enough cabins, can neither join nor have someone join when i host,under multiplayer options/server it only shows offline and online nothing about invite codes,it should have total access with the firewall and disabling didn't help, tried restarting both it and my pc, reinstalling the game, verifying integrity of game files, i saw in an older thread that Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 would help, but it gave me an error that "this app can't check with your pc, find your software publisher). the connection i have is through wifi and it ain't the best but i still have no other issues with other games and hosting servers) any and all help is appreciated. also pls ping me should you have a possible solution

@cursive pelican Nope, each farmer is reserved for the player who created it. You can demolish & rebuild a cabin to kick out another player, or use mods which increase the max player limit.

This is support by the community so we can't say definitively, but crossplatform multiplayer would be very difficult currently. Each platform has separate customizations, which means each platform has differences in the fields that get network-synced which breaks multiplayer. So it's possible, but probably not in the foreseeable future.

I dont even have the option to invite a friend to my game after i host a multiplayer game and i dont have the option to enter someones invite code either. It only lets me use an IP to join but that doesn't appear to work either. Ive tried to reinstall the game and i even want as far as refunding it on steam and buying it again but to no avail.

So... I'm having a weird issue while playing with mods. I added a few new mods, and started noticing that some items in my chests/inventory are... not what they used to be. They show the item type and energy/health bonuses of the original item, but the name/description are different items.

I tried removing all my mods and just adding a few back, and I still have this issue. I think something got messed up with the item ID's. I unfortunately did not make a backup before, so I'm stuck on what to do. Does anyone have advice?

I need help with multiplayer. Me and my friend have been playing SVD with no issues since 2 days ago until I suddenly got kicked out of the server. After joining, my friend (the host), got kicked out which led to me getting kicked out. We tried almost every mode of joining and attempted to join. The thing is that if I join my friend, he gets kicked out and if he joins me, there's no issues. However, we spent quite some time on my friend's server and we really don't want it to go to waste. Are there any solutions to this?

I also have another issue with my other friend on joining each other's co-op servers. Me and my friend attempt to join each other's servers through everything, such as steam join, invites, and invite codes. Unless we're really lucky, we rarely get to join each other's servers. However, we're able to join another person's server with almost no issues.

Config files for mods will be created when you start the game with the mods installed. The manifest.json isn't a config file or anything you need to change... But mod-related stuff should go in #making-mods-general .

Alternatively, since it works when the hosting is the other way around, you could try editing the save. https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/8i5z1j/guide_how_to_change_hosts_of_a_multiplayer_save/ (That's a pain too, though. And you'd want to be sure you made a copy of the original in case something went wrong!)

I'm coming to y'all as kind of a last ditch effort after finding nothing related. My wife & I are using the exact same mods, exact same pc outside of hers only having an integrated GPU, but for some reason when she tries to load a save she gets stuck on the loading screen until the game freezes completely and she has to crash it. No errors in smapi, no conflicting mods (to our knowledge), nothing that would point towards why it happens. We thought we fixed it once when we found that we had some mods with unofficial patches, and it worked for a day, but the next day the same issue came back and after that we completely ran out of ideas.

I can provide mod list/anything else necessary to help troubleshoot, just let me know

Hey. I was hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on with my save. All of a sudden I'm getting crashes when the game tries to load a "Animals\ShearedWhite Cow". Which makes no sense. I do have some custom BetterFarmAnimalVariety mods I've made, but they've been working without issues since I updated them to 1.4 and they don't say anything about a cow being shearable. Hi, I need help with something. So...I was playing earlier and I alt+tabbed to open my google chrome but instead got to skype. For whatever reason, my computer decided to moosh everything in the middle and all the icons, text, display got bigger (it looked something like a safe-mode version of windows) and I was around 11pm in game and I saved it because why the heck not
I restarted my laptop to fix the display issue and went back on my saved file ...but it's gone.

@hollow tulip You can check if it's caused by a mod by temporarily renaming your Mods folder to something else and starting the game. If it works, it's something you have installed in that folder. Does Steam recognize there is an update at all? Sometimes downloads get stuck in the queue.

@hexed apex you could go one of two ways: create a mod that replaces a language with Croation, using content patcher. Or reach out to CA directly (via DMs or email) to see if he is interested. It might take a while though, that's something that's usually part of a content update, not a bug fix patch. So I'm playing on pc with mouse and keyboard and it's super annoying when I try to LMB anything (sword, watering can, etc) because I have to have the mouse cursor perfectly in the direction of where I want to perform the action. I'm usually looking at the ground and the character so it's easy to overlook where the cursor is. Is there some setting or tweak that can be made?

I've got an Xbox controller but I'm afraid of the game doesn't recognize it as a controller, it will just emulate mouse and keyboard and still have a cursor issue

How do profession bonuses impact end-of-day sales and other things in multiplayer 1.4? I know that there was a bug in the past that only the host's professions would impact the end-of-day shipment, but that was over a year and a half ago. Do profession bonuses stack when taken by multiple players? I'm curious how multiplayer interacts with the professions and skills in general. Thanks in advance for the help <3

what's up with multiplayer lately? it's freezing up constantly. every minute or two video freezes for a random interval of 1-15 seconds. Playing on switch with gig internet and WiFi AC router right next to it. internet is stable, so is the ping from a wired PC to the switch.

I and another friend can join together without any problems. In Vanilla there are no problems. Mods are all up to date (Today). So it is most likely SMAPI. Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me and my buds w connecting to a farm? We've tried EVERYTHING, from turning off firewalls to restarting and updating a million different things. I am able to join our host friend but he is unable to. We're not sure why? Does anyone have any ideas what could be the issue or how we can solve this? He could connect just fine before but suddenly our server timed out and when we tried to reconnect he was just unable to. We've tried restarting the game, his computer, his internet connection is fine, turning off fire wall for stardew valley, stardewvalley folder, the entire firewall, updating steam, his game is updated, tried vanilla stardew with NO mods, updated smapi. We're fresh out of ideas...

For some reason, none of the bachelor/ette's 8-heart events are triggering in my game. I think it may be caused by the only mod I have installed (Happy Birthday Mod), but no one else reported a similar problem.

@random ginkgo You can always reset your content files to get originals back, too. It's better than downloading the file from a site somewhere, since the site may not always have the latest version.

I need some help

So I just got the game on my iPhone and I’ve lived it so far but the past like 4 days I’ve been getting major FPS drops in random buildings up until I leave the building

#

I just encountered it in the mine for the first time and can’t even leave because the FPS drop essentially removes the ability to tap and only allows me to move by holding down the screen

I’m not sure why it’s happening or what would cause it to drop it’s all just random
