I guess there may have been more at one point, some were deleted from the map, and the tiles rearranged to save space, but that seems weird, why not rearrange the letters at the same time.

Open Steam.
Right-click on Stardew Valley and click Properties.
Click Set Launch Options.
Make sure the textbox is empty, and click OK to save.

Yep, you just need to run the SMAPI installer. You don't need to change launch options on Mac.

i was messing with the stardew expanded mod trying to get it to work and gave up, after i put in my backup content files and got rid of everything associated with the mod, i tried playing and when i attempted to enter the community center my whole screen turns black and the game crashes,, anyone know what i can do?

Question! If for some reason my game is saying that Penny and Pam are located in the desert when they are actually at home, should I assume that it is the map locator glitching or could it be something else? (I use the UI Info Suite to tell me where the NPCs are on the map) It's nothing game breaking or anything, I just found it slightly odd that this was happening and it is something I noticed fairly recently in my game. Thought that maybe someone here could help.

Well it doesnt look like SMAPI is installed. So I would suggest you to download it again. Then run the install on windows bat file. When that pops up, make sure it's pointing to where you have SDV installed.

Does sve make it so trees start growing like crazy everywhere?
Cuz i got the mod InstantGrowTrees to reset the bushes, then got rid of the mod (and had even checked the config to disable instant grow)

but they just seem to be growing EVERYWHERE o.o

It's crashing because the main character's home location is set to a cabin, which fails because the main character is loaded before cabins. I'm guessing you're trying to convert a farmhand into the main player?

I don't think anyone has ever succeeded in swapping a farmhand and main player; it's a surprising amount of work. The easiest option might be to perform minimal changes to the main player (e.g. rename them), change their appearance / skills / etc in-game, loot the farmhand's cabin chest, and then delete the old farmhand.

Nope, restore the save to the way it was before trying to swap players. When you load the save, you should be playing as the old main player.

You want to change that character to reflect what you want (e.g. rename them, change their appearance, etc), without swapping the actual player instances.

The game saves progress when the in-game day ends, i.e., when the farmer goes to bed, collapses from exhaustion, or collapses at 2am. All progress during a day is lost if the player quits the game without ending the day.

Find your save files.
You should see two files with an _old suffix in the name; if not, ask for help instead!
Back up your save folder just in case.
Delete SaveGameInfo and the file that looks like YourName_123456789.
Remove the _old suffix from SaveGameInfo_old and the file that looks like YourName_123456789_old.

On iOS you used to be able to access the save files from the iOS files app, but as of a few updates ago that's not possible anymore. It means you can't use stuff like upload.farm anymore which is a bummer

So, this isn't an issue with the iTunes process for moving a save, as far as I know that still works. The problem is that when the game launched on iOS, you could open an apple app called "Files" and you Stardew saves would be right there on your iPhone or iPad, no need to connect the device to a computer via iTunes. Your game saves aren't visible in the Files app anymore though.

As a result, you can't use stuff like https://upload.farm/ or https://mouseypounds.github.io/stardew-checkup/ on iOS right now

Yeah, I'm not sure if there's a better way of cleaning up, but what I do is just delete all those files and then verify file integrity in Steam, which puts back only what the game itself is missing :)

@copper hollow I tried your suggestion of restarting, but I still can't get the steam overlay or screenshots to work. I tested other games (it works), and I tried other non-steam games (also works), so it seems to be Stardew specific. I reinstalled SMAPI, double checked the launch options, etc. However! I tried it on a different PC and it works fine, the main difference between them is mine is windows 10 and the other is 7.

That might be why it's not working. You shouldn't add Steam as a non-Steam game, you should change the launch options for Stardew Valley instead.

Did that change? I've never set the launch options for Stardew Valley itself, and always set it for StardewModdingAPI. But just to see, I set it for Stardew and it still doesn't work.

Just to clarify, it used to work. I unlocked most of the achievements while using it, SMAPI even has it's own screenshot folder for all the ones I took when it was working, etc.

There is a bug where the sword block animation stays even when walking. It usually happens when I block and try to swing pickaxe. It’s fixed when triggering other animations.

There was also another encounter when Willy was just a literal brown bar when he was fishing on the deck.

Basically, both his body and fishing pole hitboxes were filled in brown. He was still interactable

Click that "zoom buttons" toggle, and use the - button that appears in the game to zoom out... see if that helps?

I think people have had mixed results... Probably works fine with xbox controllers but not so well with others, but I've not really tried. Remapping to keys should be fine though.

there's an item dupe bug I posted I'm guessing has to do with guest clients being able to tell the server they picked up items instead of the host client deciding the logic

#

probably not an easy fix but I hadn't seen the trick mentioned before
