Took me a while to fully get into it, but I also love it
I got used to the water source being a bit out of the way, and the farm cave also being not in the best spot
Yeah a lot of things are in different positions. I haven't played the game in 10 months so it feels like a new experience to me.

I have a question - I see you can get multiple pets from Marnie; do each pets drop something different when maxed out? I know the doggo I have drops clay or bones on occasion
Cats tend towards fish and fish related
oo, so it's worth having different ones then
but you need them to love you to get a reward which takes a looot of time
I have my first pet at max, it didn't feel like it took super long as I got it in the beginning of year 2
is it still the same amount of hearts?
Do they share a bowl? Sorry for all the questions
You need to buy a bowl for each animal by Robin's
If they do not own one, they will have a hard time loving you
You can still buy them, but they will have a daily love penalty
should i be happy to be so lucky that i have gotten multiple saplings (chance to get is 0,1 %) from mystery boxes and still no prismatic shards (0,4 %)...
Cats basically bring home the trophies of their kills. That does include fish, of course, but also includes bat wings, duck feathers, and rabbit feet(!)
Murderfloof is earning its keep
Also this combo
Petting a cat while holding a fishing rod with Magic Bait allows any fish from the Mountain lake or Forest river to be dropped. Similarly, petting a cat while holding a fishing rod with Targeted Bait will increase the odds of the cat dropping that specific fish.
That sounds like a bug but it is also kind of amusing
that is a lot of words to say feature
...Cheese is on the cat gift list
I've heard of real-life cats stealing food from neighbors. I'm guessing ours have been stealing cheese from Marnie's ranch
real
There's Mining to level 9. Combat is at 8, so I have to deal with the laggard Foraging at 6 so I can get working on Masteries. But I've got a red cabbage seed to find first, so it'll have to keep lagging.
so I needed a jack o lantern for the spirit's eve bundle right. turns out you can just steal the ones around town 😭
When you're doing the community center, and the community gives back!
Do the villagers still mostly ignore the community center, aside from Clint?
There are some others who use it (Emily and Gus) but I think the behavior is effectively unchanged from before
A bit disappointing.
Has anyone made a super duper powerful forged version of Penny's frying pan yet?
you're gonna need to craft one for perfection tho, don't forget the recipe
Good call
Hmm, dilemma. I now have enough iridium to upgrade my pickaxe. Do I upgrade it and sacrifice two days, or keep looking for the red cabbage seed instead?
imo it depends, do you absolutely need the red cabbage seed rn?
i personally would upgrade but i dont do "speedruns" of the community center
It's also the only thing I really have to work on at the moment.
i would hold off on upgrading then if getting the red cabbage seed is the only thing you need to work on rn
you could work towards other parts of perfection if thats your goal
like befriending everyone and catching fish
So much of that is gated behind finishing the community center.
true
if you rlly wanted to you could do a local co op and have a second "player" to get a basic pickaxe while youre upgrading one
can someone give me a rundown/place to find all the new 1.6 stuff
Or this
Iridium Pick is pretty so so - you're still multi hit on gold and iridium ore
Iridium Axe is down to what, 3 or 4 swings per tree? (Including the stump)
I'm in no hurry for the iridium pick because almost all of my mining is with explosives.
At this point that one might get done last.
Yeah - I can't remember if it makes Skull Cavern rocks 1 hit or 2 - If it's still 2, there's basically 0 reason to rush it
It looks like it will make the common Skull c\Cavern rocks one hit.
Ok - That's somewhat worth it if you're on a floor that's just threadbare enough to not justify a bomb and you want to save the stairs
But that's the only real gain I believe
Yup
Got my iridium pickaxe, took a diversion to the mines to get ectoplasm for Mr. Wizard. Much better luck there than with the cabbage seed.
My farm is now almost completely debris free, too.
I've still got three more foraging levels to go, though. Makes me sad.
Those last foraging levels are evil
Especially when you're level 9 and know you're so close to the freedom of inventory bloat
Of all the skills, it's the one that feels like it's the least organic to level, at least for me.
I think it's one of the most time-wasting ones - Fishing you can grind out (And it's possible to do 9->10 in one day), combat and mining are easy enough, and farming is a no brainer
But foraging depends heavily on RNG
Fishing levels /fast/.
Yep - Especially with Deluxe Bait
It's been the first to hit level 10 in sevearl of my playthroughs.
WHY IS THE RAIN GREEN
And not even close, either.
Welcome to the Green Rain event - Your best bet for today is to talk to the NPCS, then go on a fiber harvesting rampage on all those shiny new fiber patches
Farming was second this time around, with combat and mining roughly neck and neck at 9 each right now.
Alright
This playthrough I hit Summer 1 with 6 across the board, all skills are 9 at fall 10, with mining and farming at 10
But foraging is still at 7. Very annoying.
I think I got 10 fishing before I got out of spring.
Yeah - Fishing loses a lot of value on 25% profit
So I usually work on optimizing energy use, get things done, mine deep
for me combat is the most annoying to grind out
It's slow but steady and fairly easy to grind - deep mines or skull cavern
trying to resist the urge of skipping through the rest of spring </3 ive done everything i can for community center rn and i dont wanna grind sc 😞
Fishing took me 2 days to go from 9-10, but I got late starts. It's also the last skill to 10 for me, every time. Even with Riverlands, I'm not crazy about fishing.
You haven't touched grass for over 10 years, now the the grass have come to TOUCH YOU!!!!
"Meteor shit!"
A proper fishing opener reaches Lv2 by 5PM on Y1 Spring day 2, then Lv5 by the end of the following night. One more level and the Bait Maker is craftable, and then the profits pop off like mad-- which is not a thing that's supposed to happen in Spring
Spring crops are awful money to enforce Earlygame Hell. Fishing allows us to defy it.
What's the best Mastery?
Or, more aptly put, what's your favorite Mastery and why?
(For the record, I've read the Wiki.)
Best is farming, no question
I’ve found mining quite fun, though farming is just the most useful overall
Tad unfortunate in my eyes but it is what it is
Scythe is amazing, statue is amazing, golden crackers are amazing, and it genuinely helps with getting the rest of your masteries which none of the others do
It's a toss up between Farming and Mining
The iridium scythe from farming makes harvesting crops so much faster, the animal crackers are a nice addition to make animals more "worth it", and the Statue of Blessings, while situational, it can be verrry helpful in situations (a luck buff on good luck days, and the chance of a Prismatic Shard with the butterfly is really nice)
With mining, the heavy furnace is quite possibly one of my favorite additions, the chance of a random 6th bar you get from your ores is amazing, and the Dwarf Statue is great for Skull Cavern runs
Combat is just fun. I love experimenting with the trinkets
Foraging is nice, but it's the most "support" of all of them. Like if you have the museum done, I don't see you getting much out of treasure totems, and mystic trees are an okay money maker, especially with the logs. Golden Mystery Boxes are probably the best addition from that, with the fact you can trade them for Magic Rock Candy (and the rewards from them are also nice)
I do not care about fishing at all, but if you like fishing then it must be good
Well, statue is less amazing, but still better than most other mastery rewards
I like fishing > farming > foraging > mining > combat
Iridium Rod opens up a lot of big fish hunting, then the scythe
My favourite is probably foraging.
It's not the best, but I kinda love mystic trees
The Iridium Scythe allowing to do 5x5s of Trellis Crops is just nice
They're the most interesting addition I'd say
Fishing is honestly a mixed bag. Advanced Rod makes hunting perfect catches a lot easier, but I didn't really need it to be a lot easier
Thanks for your input, everybody. I'm leaning toward Farming then Mining. I haven't been to the cave yet, been meaning to get over there, but got a notification that I'd moved up a level, so I'd best do so.
Also gold fishing treasure makes hunting down work boots harder lol
Whee - the last 140 forage to go to be level 10 and free of the blight that is quality
after farming what mastery should i choose
Fishing or Foraging
Mining and Combat are both ehhh enough if you've leveled quickly that you can put them off for a bit
mining or foraging, probably. or if you're planning to do a lot of fishing, advanced iridium rod + quality bobber + dressed spinner is very profitable paired with targeted bait
foraging it is then
My initial choices are usually aimed at accelerating the ability to gain more exp
love tilling 777 tiles by hand 💀
That's why you prep the night before
good lord, you're very brave for that
yeaaa, should've done that... But you know, change of the season would've made it all go poof anyways
And I couldn't plant wheat too because it would make me miss out on one pumpkin harvest and I ain't buying speed gro
Nah - you plant the cheapest garbage that will expire at the end of the season, then when next season starts, the dead plants keep the soil tilled, the sprinklers water, and then you just need to scythe for mass clearing
Oh well, I kinda forgot about being able to just sacrifice the crop
But cheapest summer crop that will expire is raddish with 40g a piece... Spending over 30k to just not have to till again is lowkey a lot 💀
That's fair
Can also go mass regrowing crop like tomatoes - though you lose out on being able to swap for higher value crops
Uhhh, yea thats not gonna cut it, planting starfruit and its ready on 28th
In which case yeah - I guess there's not much choice there
for summer - fall switch wheat is good. You may loose a harvest on some crops but that's worth it to have your fertelizer prepared and without tilling and watering
and you can make beer so you get money back
wheat is good because it's very easy to harvest (obv)
i've passed out while planting on at least 2 different occasions. and yeah you can't pre-prep for season change, i wasted time doing it once and almost all of it was gone the next morning
really need to get into the crop sacrifice business
When is it even worth to use any fertilizer ?
Like bluebellies->cranberries route purely?
idk but melons/pumpkins are just that much better
:p
and u pickle/keg it
Or learn to animation cancel! Unless u consider it cheating and don't want to use obv
I meant to say speed-gro
How could something that makes iridium tools and enchantments worthless considered like balance breaking ? /s
it's not THAT powerful unless you literally master it
holy shit I managed to go down 71 floor in a single game tick
i guess Im a master then
it feels too good
okay I was exaggerating but still it requires some practice
not taking artisan this time around made the game less stressful for me, and with the 10% base speed gro, I'm using so much more fertilizer on crops
Eh, it's only really useful if you use macros. Like, the trigger input in-game is deliberately terrible, and basically there as a leftover debugging tool to cancel out any broken animation loops.
Which I've actually used it for personally lol
animation canceling without a macro is the definition of masochism
I just bind R+DEL+RSHIFT to my ctrl key and it works flawlessly
which means you usa a macro
yeah
yea
to combine all buttons into one
Macros are essentially non-vanilla gameplay though as far as I'm concerned. You're automating something the game doesn't let you automate.
yea obviously its up to person playing to choose if they rather use it or not
I used to think "animation cancelling" referred to the effect where using a tool by holding down the use button is slower than clicking manually lmao
how did I go from 35/45 floors per game tick to ~70 out of nowhere
it's like a unit of time in a game
tick
a single unit
so by that, he's abusing the loading screen of entering a floor
then unpausing to do a single button click
A single tick is 10 in game minutes
so like 7 seconds 🙂
in sc 11
9 for sc
oh 9
I'm still patient for nov 4
you pause during floor loading already right?
What’s the best farm to start out on in 1.6?
riverland is good because you get a free smoker
Ok cool. Would you say meadowlands is good too since it comes with chickens or no?
yea, and the blue grass is a good bonus ig
and was messing up my timing really bad at the beginning
I have no idea why this went so well
like 20-25 floors per game tick
Pretty boring imho. Cave is far, water access is far, there is nothing special gameplay wise. I guess if you like gathering the animal rpoducts it is alright. It is beautiful but it lacks something to me.
also not to mention the grass tiles makes large fields of crops annoying
Ok thanks. So would you also recommend riverland for the free smoker?
hm
Riverland does not have much space to have fish ponds which is a bit weird to not be able to produce and live by the fish in this map.
if you really like fishing it would be nice and profitable but it would eat coal
I like beach, forest, 4 corners, top hill
I almost always do beach
the free smoker is pretty massive though, you can easily generate 100k in less than 2 weeks with a bit of luck in weather
its just more fun to do things other than grind 100 sprinklers
Either map sucks if you wanna do any larger-than-small-scale farming
- 🌲 Forest is nice to get easy foraging levels, avoid secret woods trips, get an early mahogany trees farm.
- ⛱️ Beach is nice because it offers a unique challenge and gives you small surprises from time to time.
4 corners lets you specialize each corner.- ⛰️ Top hill makes you scratch you head about how to setup your thing while still giving some space.
I actually feel like most "gimmick" farms have an early game bonus which is offset by being awkward for lategame
quick question, can green rain have thunder or is it always just rain
im looking at the wiki and can't find anything about it
I dont think it has thunder
Ok I’ll look into it a bit more before choosing. In the meantime, I’m still open for more opinions/suggestions. I’m a pretty new farmer as well if that makes any difference.
feel like wilderness farm is partly now the opposite bc of iridium golems now
If you're new, I'd actually suggest standard or four corners
I am not sure if it was patched, but I remember someone saying you could get 2 green rains in a row if you use the rain totem during a green rain day. The second green rain may have thunder. I cannot swear about anything about that.
that was likely patched if it was real
because that sounds insane for resource grinding
Just try out what you like, do a general run, then make a specialised run using one of the more exotic layouts
yeah
Ok cool. I was also considering standard but wasn’t sure if other farms were better options. Thanks
I would lean towards 4 corners first, it has a bit of everything and lots of room to experiment
Also dont hesitate to reset if you do not like the map. Early game is the most fun imo.
Remixed bundles also give some fresh challenges.
Eh, more like a midgame thing
I found myself just greatly annoyed with the farm mobs when I was trying to do some work after dark
But at least it's something nice and unique to differentiate the wild farm from just toggling the monster option on any farm
Plus the pond is placed quite awkwardly
Wilderness? The pond has a nice central location so that it's never far away regardless of where you plant stuff
Even Standard has bigger problems accessing water from like half of its map
Was never a thing, probably part of why 1.6 patched it so rain totems no longer extend thunder storms
Except Beach, which is quite comparable to standard in the extreme endgame because it's so damn big, and crops on the main farm don't really matter past the midgame anyway
OHHH NOOOOO
Beach Farm is a massive waterside property. If it weren't out in the boondocks (Stardew Valley), the property itself would probably fetch a massive price if we sold it (and probably horrified Grandpa's ghost, but...)
How many bombs did you bring
26 explo ammo and 9 normal bombs
thats all
I dropped like 20 from serpents/bats and chests
which I used
Ladder spam? I brought 150 bombs, used 143 and got to 130 before I called it quits
Hm right
Rare event during the summer, just wait and see
Bulletin board takes time
special order board is unlocked in fall of year 1
Yeah
i got the same info twice and i can't use it what does it do
Well the day is random after year 1. But also true one happens every summer
spread around moss and wild trees
k
Best way to harvest moss
does the green rain water the plants?
Yes.
aight
I love mushroom logs... My setup is barely existent too, and I didn't dehydrate any
ngl I might just plant my whole main farm with trees and make a massive mushroom farm
And only actually farm in ginger island
oh no
i forgot that when house is upgraded u just get teleported there
R.I.P. 1 starfruit wine that was being made :c
Rare bedless gameplay
xd
should have just suffered through waiting smh smh smh /j
do the green rain trees stay when it ends?
Yes, but most of the trees revert to their normal forms. If they have tappers on them, they will always revert to normal.
you can't push it empty handed like a chest?
you can't
use the scythe for the moss
Nuh-uh :c
Just like any working machine
i want the wood 😭
idk why don't they make it
Maybe use bombs? I don't know
The wood will still be there the next day. Use your scythe to attack all the weeds and gather fiber and moss. You can also hit the trees to get moss from them. The only thing you'll miss out on is the fiddlehead fern trees.
If you do not animation cancel, dont compare yourself to someone who does
Wait is that what happened
Animation cancelling the slingshot doesn't consume ammo(?)
I thought Inda mined iridium using the slingshot
im soo sad bro 😭
Been a while since I've seen this one
hella mid for the amount of explosive ammo wasted (~40)
ouch
imagine all the tressure floors you missed bc of that
so real
you missed 14 auto petters...
Id take that
zooooooooooooom
it's not a lot but still something
ITS A WHOLE SPEED BUFF
oh wait no, its 1/2 of one
Stillllllll
Oh yea also smart me put 14 kegs with starfruit in pam's way unknowingly... They're gone forever.
rip 45500g
14 sf wine with artisan
game, when Im trying to get scroll three be like
rng my beloved /s
beat kam up fr
How get even a singular scroll
Monsters drop them from time to time. You can dig with your hoe in the mines if you want to go try hard. Usually doing many mines/SC runs is enough.
Both do equal +1 speed
Still kind of peak though
Fr?
Yes
They’re only like 5% speed boost each relative to default speed
I see
I guess it adds up but it’s not like they’re crazy cheap either
It doesn't feel that noticeable when you get them but then I started a new save and could tell I was just slower without them
One duck feather and one red cabbage left for the community center.
Huh. Gold slime I think that's new.
Lucky ring!
I'm not sure I've ever found one of those before.
The heck a junimo is following me
They do that once you complete a bundle
I never noticed after finishing the game multiple times.
I am having no luck with this cabbage seed.
On the upside, these Skull Cavern expeditions are doing great things for my sprinkler count.
I think I'll be able to start swapping out some quality sprinklers for iridium before long.
This is the first time I've gone hard on quality sprinklers, usually I limp until I get access to iridium
Combat level 10 is usually a goal because iridium bats start visiting at night
Hm. Last time I played Wilderness, Iridium Bats didn't yet exist so it was Serpents that started spawning at Combat 10.
Needless to say, I ran to the shrine to toggle monsters off, very soon after that
I believe serpents still do unless the last time I played was also pre 1.3.27 or whenever iridium bats were added
Yeah, the issue here is that serpents are more punishment than reward. Iridium bats are actually interesting since you normally have to get pretty far into SC for them to even start spawning. If they spawn on the farm, that's a special delivery of Iridium and Batteries right to your doorstep.
Oh hey. Auto-petter.
I can't decide if my luck is good or bad.
I still haven't found the cabbage seed, but I've gotten a lucky ring and an auto-petter.
And there's the duck feather. Red cabbage is all that's left now.
Special order of the week...prismatic slime. Great.
Has this one gotten any better?
barely
W
are you going for y1 cc?
Why is meowmere's attack so low?
I heard somewhere that using the mayors pants (or tailored pants, i dont remember) makes the second tackle never take damage
Because its a funny crossover item
I was gonna claim it, just checked the damage on wiki and my god is it worse than bonesword
I get that sentiment but still
It's meant to be a cosmetic skin
I suppose it's good when I unlock the forge
The item in terraria though does the most base damage in the game (i think) and has a projectile
Can't wait to get a infinite sword look like a meowmere
Not the most
Im 100% forging it to my infinity sword as i love terraria
No longer at least
But it looks epic atleast
Which does the most?
Zenith
I never played it, but will do most likely
I'd like to. But it's more that the Community Center gates Ginger Island content.
I wish enemies would explode into meowmere cats upon kill with the meowmere
...Stardew Valley is trolling me.
Can't get the red cabbage seed, but found the prismatic slime within ten floors.
Lol
All things considered, I'd rather have it this way around.
The prismatic slime quest was always a bit obnoxious in my last playthroughs.
oh fair
did you not check the box for y1 cc completion?
I was about to ask why, i forgot you get a recipe
Didn't think about it.
rip
are any racers in the desert festival objectively better or is it just a flat 1/3 chance every time
wiki doesnt say anything but also says "escar-go" is the "slowest contestant" so idk
First race I bet on (and first of only two total) I bet on Escar-Go, and it won. I went to collect my prize ... and the game crashed to desktop. I can't remember the last time SDV crashed on me.
hello mr Dave hru
I'm fine, thanks. HBU?
aw goodluck on your midterm tho
thanks I probably need it
from skull cavern?
Yep.
Good luck on your midterm!
And now another dinosaur egg.
Yo, I was playing SDV yesterday
It was past midnight and I'm trying to get back home quick, but I pass by the bus stop, and suddenly there was a screaming crazy white creature 😭
looked like a terrified possum
running out from a bush
I missed to ss it tho
There’s a what
A screaming white creature?
Are you sure you don’t have any horror mods installed?
That sounds very concerning
the possum is in the new update i think
Oh there’s actual possums now?
like the birds and squirels
ya, you can also see it when you fix the greenhouse
I know a raccoon pops out of the greenhouse but
Weird how there’s no wiki page for it
prolly not updated yet
The update has been out for a while now
Most of the content in 1.6 has been updated for the wiki by now
Maybe it’s under
[[Night_Events]]

don't think there's a page dedicated to images of them
oh there's animals
but not the squirrels
The creature
spooky
Possum nearly the size of a man
huge mice
@rose knoll do you have a recommendation for which unlock (mastery) to go for first?
For me - The initial choice is fishing or farming - If it's winter, I'm more likely to go fishing first
After those two, I go foraging, then you can choose between the last two as preferred
I was actually super torn between those both, so thank you
Iridium Scythe lets you get away with 5x5 trellis - you can reach the inner circle with the scythe
Dunno if it goes here or another channel, but is either insect head or ossified blade particularly better than the other? I'm mostly just asking since I got blade from a box and there's not really any reason to carry two swords
What's the damage on the two again? IIRC the Ossified Blade has a -speed penalty on it, which makes it miserable
Insect: 20-30dmg, +2 SPD, +2 crit chance
Blade: 26-42dmg, -2 SPD, +1 def, +2 weight
Go insect blade
Insect sounds better imo
you'll get in enough extra swings to stunlock enemies into walls
The slow swing on the ossified is brutal
Alright, wasn't sure since I got a new thing lol
I'll just stuff it in a box unless selling it's better
Fishing, Farming, or Foraging, depending on what your immediate goals are
Also whee, I forgot how good Monster Musk is - Just slaughtered 25 / 50 crabs in one day
Mining first is pretty good. One of the fastest ways to get all mastery is to do SC runs. Since the mining statue combines well with SC runs and the heavy furnace too, it is railroad to get all of them.
Farming is the only one which really accelerates experience gain noticeably
Well, this last day of fall is going to be spicy - need to dig up 500 fishing and 500 combat exp, shouldn't be too rough, just need the fish to bite
But that'll get me to masteries in 3 seasons, which is a new personal record
I suppose fishing also can, actually, if you fish all day. Double bobber means you can stick on a bonus treasure hunter or cork bobber, for more perfect catches/treasure chests, and therefore more experience.
Ah yes, the roe of a legendary fish
that's so lucky wtf
The real challenge is to try get that, while also getting triple fish from Challenge Bait 😛
blessing of waters might help with that lol
I missed it. Raccoon says he needs a wife, next thing I know he has one standing right beside him.
Damnit. I forgot about Monster Musk. I've been grinding mobs without it. D'oh!!
Is this a thing???
Dino floor
I can kick myself for staircasing past a dino egg just laying there in my last run.
Still don't have one.
I haven't been trying.
I got one for the museum. Wasn't interested in replacing a chicken with a dino. I'm only gonna have one coop in this save. Not a lot of room with Riverlands.
But animal crackers with a Dino, and the 3x price on artifacts book I've already got have me considering giving a dino or two a try.
that's so much fun /s
I've actually done mutant carp without blessing of waters active which I'm proud of
I never considered that
so unless i cant do math with the animal crackers and treasure appraisal guide with just base quality dino eggs worth a total of 2100 every 7 days that is 300 a day
it's pretty good but still worse than a normal chicken
yeah
it's so funny that chickens are the best profit coop animal until golden chickens lmao
also desert festival is way better than i thought for foraging experience
literally nothing interesting to buy this year so i poured like 400-ish eggs into woodcutters weekly
They're still pretty bad, but they're actually decent for some challenge runs now
Any challenge run where you don't have ready access to artisan machines, dinos are actually pretty good
assuming you get an egg
I'd offer one, but the two I got from the Skull Cavern run are currently incubating and decorating the museum.
...another serpent rabbit's foot. What is with this luck?
And now a third one?
Why dont the villagers have new outfits? Or is that not in summer
It's in Winter
They have beachwear outfits but they wear it to Ginger Island, and regardless of season. That's from 1.5, I think.
It's the closest thing they have to summer outfits, I suppose
Would have been nice if they had fully seasonal outfits. Or even just something like random outfits based on season/year
Sometimes I wonder whether lucky charms (such as rabbit feet) bring good luck, or are brought by good luck
But that'd be a lot of sprite work, so I guess it's not a huge surprise why the seasonal outfits were so limited
Causation vs mere correlation, y'know
Winter outfits are a little weird since characters still wear them indoors and even in their own homes.
Rock Rejuvenation may well occur in the first Winter and show Emily meditating in her winter coat and hat while Haley is in her pajamas in the same room
The coat is one thing
I triggered Emily's lightshow dance heart event in the winter, too.
She danced with her winter clothes on and then complained about how sweaty she was. Gee, if only there were something she could remove before exercise in order to prevent overheating...
The earmuffs are very cute but yes, prooooobably shouldn't be on indoors
I think that one mod which basically adds seasonal resprites for all the villagers actually addresses that
I've seen it. Winter Outdoors and Winter Indoors variants
But unfortunately, that mod also neuters Elliot's glorious mug so he doesn't look like the model for cover of a harlequin romance novel
Which puts me off using it, because it basically completely changes the vibe of his character portrait
The luck part is that I'm getting every desirable rare item except the one I'm looking for.
Oh, this was the red cabbage saga?
I have a saying for times like this.
"Lady Luck is a sarcastic a-hole sometimes."
Is, not was. Still haven't found one.
I'm not complaining about the items I did get, though. Auto-petter, several rabbit's feet, a few purple slime eggs, prismatic shards...
Keeping it.
I will get a red cabbage seed no later than Summer 1st, Year 2, so it's not really a wasted day.
You'll do anything just to not have to buy it from Pierre?
Respect
Worst of all they make it hard to tell one person from another. They all look like Kenny from South Park with different colored coats. 🤣
I think the reasoning behind standard outfits is that it makes the sprites easily identifiable, especially for those of us with not exactly the best eyesight. I think the Winter outfits prove that reasoning sound.
Excellent. Year 1 CC completion in the bag?
Stick some DSG under the cabbage and maybe you can even get it done a little sooner
Burglar ring hours lesgoooo
200 hardwood...ouch.
It would have been some top tier trolling if the traveling cart had a red cabbage plant today.
Oh hey. There's the note for the Special Charm.
At least you have a spare rabbit foot for it!
Heh.
I think I had four in inventory.
My plan for Ginger Island is to get to the forge as quickly as possible so I can start fusing rings.
real sigmas go all in on orange
I'm glad 1.6 fixed the problem of fishing not being worthwhile
Yeah but at least it has some value outside of very early game
It can be good year one money now
It can absolutely
You can get 100,000s a day reliably with the caldera fishing and more when you start getting legend 2 quests
Not as reliably but you don’t really need much cash for something like perfection
Also legendary fish ponds
I didn't think those were possible. Wiki says no.
1.6.9 says yes
That’s a mod from what I remember
Oh okay
left column are all legendary(dark green being the legend)
orange one is also legendary
I play the beta
Betas and mods don't count.
Not yet for the beta. Post is as an example when it's officially released.
Ok
Or at least say up front it's a beta or a mod. It's kind of a server etiquette.
There is no channel to talk about the beta. This is the most spoiler free channel, so that is where I go.
And thanks to gouda - the beta's going to be in a lot better shape - They found quite a few bugs for the team to fix
(seriously, thank you for all that bug hunting you did)
And that's fine. It's interesting to find out about. Just say up front it's a beta feature and it forestalls any argument from people not playing the beta or the mod in question.
Sorry if I came off harsh. I'm not upset or anything. And I would enjoy hearing more about the beta. It would just help to know it's about the beta up front.
You are good. I guess I should have said it 2 mins before I did and put a spoiler on my image
yall when 1.7 be comin out?
most likely never or if it does after CAs other game is out
1.6 is likely going to be the last major update for sdv atleast until Concerned apes new game is out
ah man
i got gifted that game rlly late
i got it in june and almost reaching perfection:D
No need to spoiler anything for me. I have them set to show anyway. I appreciate hearing about new stuff and mods.
And, for the record, the guy who said quiche sucks is an idiot. Quiche is great. And Gouda is my favorite cheese. So you're good in my book, too. 😄
quiche is MID /j
@queen current Statue of blessing gives infinite energy for a day
Bruh
Doesn't make it less hard it takes mastery to unlock and a ton of moss
Gouda is not my favorite cheese, but it is still cheese, so it remains God's food. Quiche on the other is a solid top 10 dish to me. Gouda quiche is an obscure reference from a cringe 80s ad.
The two things about not knowing it's a mod or a beta up front is that, first, it can waste a little or a lot of the reader's time. A little if all they're doing, like me, is checking the Wiki, and a lot if maybe they try that something in game and it doesn't work (and this can happen with new players and being shown something in a mod).
Secondly, it can be a little disappointing, anticipating this great new thing you see to be available in your game, only to find out it's not. And I must admit to a little of that disappointment on checking the Wiki, but not enough to upset me like it may have seemed.
I was more terse than the situation warranted.
I blame a tense situation yesterday that has had me wound up ever since, and I really need to let it go and decompress.
I don't know that ad, and I'm certainly old enough to remember the 80s well. LOL
in year 1, I got 350 moss from green rain. 250 from actually harvesting weed and 100 from the moss I gathered from all the trees I planted the day before the green rain happened. Remember green rain is a massive tree fertilizer, giving a chance to any tree in all the valley to grow up mature. Meaning, you should plant all your tree seeds before it happens.
and later on you can get energy less tools
Thanks
We are in the same boat
Still have to max every skill without using tools tho lol
Well, to be honest, there are parts of the 80s I don't remember at all, but that's from overconsumption of certain things. LOL
Happens
The early game is actually so tedious before you get sprinklers
You can’t even upgrade your watering can before sprinklers 😭
Because you have to water the plants every day
i mean, you could if you try hard enough
I saw a YT video about how to handle the first week. It was pretty interesting.
A butt ton of kale to increase your farming level
Just have to wait until it's raining the next day
watering can is the last thing i upgrade
It’d have to be raining 2 days in a row
I usually upgrade my watering can during Y1 winter. I prioritize axe, pick axe, trash can. Everything else does not matter much to me.
Nope - You water, upgrade, next day rains, next day you pick it up and water
It's crazy that energy-less perfection is possible
Oh yeah that makes sense oops
You take your watering can the day before a forecasted rain. You water your plants, take the can to Clint, it rains the next day, the day after that your can is ready, you take it home and water your plants.
Yeah thanks!
Or what Adradis said. LOL
Between the two of us, one of us generally has the right answer, ha
You've caught me on a few misconceptions
😄
any way to get a second advanced iridium rod?
Steal it from another player
What two bobbers are good?
Cat burglary
What's the appropriate channel to post images in?
Trap and cork bobber are nice if you are trying to get legendary fish. Only spinner, sonar bobber, barbed hook are useless to me. If you unlocked the mastery fish rod, be sure to consider using Lewis' shorts option. It makes the other bobber have infinite durability.
Wait it does? That's awesome
Lewis I'm coming to your basement 😈
Quality Bobber is good if you want Iridium Legendaries
Let's put that burglar ring to use hunting for Dwarf Scroll I
Depends a lot on what you're doing and how good at fishing you are. My favourite setup that I've tried was Cork + Quality with Challenge Bait, to farm Iridium Lava Eels in the Caldera.
Could swap the Quality for a second Cork for more consistency on the perfect catches, but I found that it was generally unnecessary, and preferred having the Quality Bobber as a fallback so I could grab treasure chests when they showed up without loss in fish quality.
I imagine you also go for qi seasoned seafoam pudding and the master enchant?
Yeah, although Preserver is also decent to save on to challenge bait, which is kinda annoying to obtain in large quantities because moss and bone fragments are both kinda shit to farm
Now that you can upgrade the pan, it feels kinda weird that it starts as copper
you could explain that away by it not being an inheritance from Grandpa's Farm, but a gift and a reward from Willy
I’m talking weird gameplay wise
Out of all the upgradable tools, it’s the only one you don’t need to upgrade to copper
Not sure if bug, feature, or mod: But the grass you can scythe down didnt die back in winter like it used to?
ok darn
New as in intended feature
I always find tons of worm spots when the grass dies back in the winter
Yeah
There’s more worm spots in general in winter. Worms can only spawn on tillable tiles and winter makes most tiles tillable with snow
You'll get less hay from it though as compared to other seasons, IIRC
...
This run is nuts. Tea set on year one.
I wasn't even looking for that. But the game keeps giving me rare stuff like candy.
On my current farm, I got the living hat on year 1, spring 15 lmao
I wasn’t going for it and I didn’t even notice at first
I went to my chests to deposit items and thought, “what’s this weird looking fiber?”
It would be insane if I got a living hat.
Now that was a wet summer
Fun fact if you don't use energy in a day you won't lose energy the next day if you stay up too late
I'm tuning in very late but there is another way.
Most crops don't survive seasonal transitions, meaning you don't actually have to water them on the 28th!
Leveling foraging is making me sad.
Water your crops on the 27th and then hand it to Clint.
He works through the 28th,
And then you can pick it up on the 1st to water your new seeds!
It’s so depressing
Gotta do more tree murder 🌳 🪓
I would deforest all of Cinder Sap multiple times and feel so depressed after not even increasing 1 level 😭
The big bushes from green rain give a lot of exp
I think 25 per bush
Hecc, isn't that more than a tree?
That's... still more than a tree
But still more than a tree (12. 13 if you include the stump )
I also learned recently that merely collecting the moss from a tree gives 1xp
Okay but why did Concerned Ape do spring onions so dirty 😭
I suppose that is foraging
There’s also not really a good foraging activity.
There kind of is now
Would it really be too op if spring onions gave 7 exp 💀
Once a year is not a good activity.
Huh?
Yeah mushroom logs give 5exp, but that’s a lot of hardwood and moss to craft them all
Green rain, yes?
I mean, the main one has always been woodcutting. Shroom logs are a new addition. Shroom cave also gives EXP too
Oh, and now there's also the two berry seasons giving EXP where they didn't before
Ten mushroom logs will give roughly 50 EXP every 3.5 days.
One mushroom log is ten hardwood and ten moss though…
Large stumps are the way. This is why forest farm is op. There are foraging books too.
Green rain kinda means you can get an extra "cycle" or two of clearcutting the valley per year
It would be cool if the 3 new moss trees gave a lot of foraging experience
Then, it would incentivize you more to grow them
Anyone know when 1.6 is coming to xonsole?
Around November 8
I maxed Foraging before the end of the first fall, but then the Beach Farm has an insane amount of space so my starting trees could propagate
Oh great thats pretty soon
Somewhere between Nov 8-11 I think
8-11? It was delayed?
Sweet thank you
I’m probably wrong lol
I just googled it and it’s Nov 4th
@jovial mural
Release date for Stardew Valley console & mobile 1.6 update: November 4th
Thank yall so much
Oh, it embedded this time
Plant all your tree seeds before green rain
It... isn't, though
There's no equivalent of the mines or skull cavern for foraging.
It's an extra chance at the thing you should already be doing once or twice a season
Secrets woods give you large stumps every day.
Fishing's got a few events, but it levels really quickly and is good for making quick money, so that skill doesn't feel bad to level.
I don't think anything else should have an equivalent to SC
Farming...well, a few big harvests level it quite nicely.
You have chances to get foraging books from trees
Combat's always my slowest tbh
Mining and combat have the most engaging activities, and there's a lot of content tied to them.
Foraging is just slow and grindy.
Monster HP scales up more than monster EXP yields do
There was a time when Monster Musk did not exist.
Gods those days sucked
then play forest map
Four Corners has a bit of it, too
My current run has foraging at level 9, end of summer Y1. I gain 8x25=200 xp per day if I want to
Slightly less slow and grindy.
Isn't it more than twice as fast
Since the farm has more stumps than the secret woods
And in fact you can start chopping them sooner than you can normally get into the secret woods anyway
It's still only 25 experience per stump.
I have not been to the secret woods once
And I still level foraging so much faster than combat
I like getting to Foraging 10 for Botanist by Winter. Did it every playthrough since 1.2 or maybe 1.3
There's "not fast" and there's "I have to go out of my way to grind this skill."
That's... how skills are trained, is it not?
By doing them over and over for years
Except since this is a video game I can get it maxed in less than one year
Need a gazillion wood and hardwood to build things anyway
It's the only skill that I feel I need to go out of my way for. Everything else levels up pretty nicely in the course of play.
Combat is the only one I feel like I'm going out of my way for
My farming/mining levels are equivalent to my foraging one on the forest map. I have been cutting a lot of trees, had multiple times 2 stacks of wood, and now I have more trees to cut once more because I have nothing left. I fill the train station with trees.
I never have to make special trips for foraging, because it's already part of my plan and schedule
I did have to make multiple special trips to reach Combat 10 for Mastery
Combat paces mining for me. They hit 10 about the same time.
Maybe you got the Galaxy sword way earlier than I did.
I didn't get it until the guaranteed prismatic spawn at the top of the volcano.
That is a distinct possibility.
...'Course, my luck wasn't that bad on previous playthroughs and I still leveled it last
Buy foraging books if you dont want to train the hrad way
I had it before doing the skull cavern.
Proper profiteering from SC doesn't involve very much monster-slaying
Trying to get through with the Obsidian Edge was simply a problem because Serpents remain in my face for longer while trying to blast things
That's what, ten stumps worth twice a month?
I'm honestly not sure. I haven't had that much spare funds to spend on books anyway.
In this playthrough I upgraded my axe before even the watering can (because of a very specific plan I was doing on the farm that most people wouldn't do, tho)
Watering Can remained regular until late autumn or even winter, I think
I always upgrade my watering can last(usually during winter). My priorities are pickaxe/axe/trash can
Steel axe before Green Rain meant quickly being able to clear trees ahead of them all respawning, to double dip
I forget whether the pick or axe got my first upgrade this run. I do remember rushing to get the wood for the tidepool bridge so I could claim the first week's forage there before the weekly despawn/respawn wave on Sunday
It's Winter 26. I've got 10 in all skills except foraging, which is still at 8. I've been working at the stumps daily for at least a few weeks now.
Because a week's worth of forage built up at those tidepools would help a lot for my usual rush to Foraging 4+ by Salmonberry Season for extra berries
I am 2 seasons behind you and I am level 9
I was actually disappointed that I didn't reach Foraging 10 until just after Blackberry season ended. No iridium quality
I think Lv8 foraging is enough for Tree Fertilizer?
Which means being able to quickly grow trees for Foraging EXP even in the winter
At that point it's just Farming but you harvest with your axe and get wood instead of crops
With Tree Fertilizer, they grow in 4 days like Parsnips even
Yes tree fertilizer is a great tool
Do you get foraging xp when you bomb trees ? If you have a lot or ores, you could convert bombs into foraging xp
You do not
last hit must be from an axe
You can theoretically weaken the trees with bombs but eh.
mh tedious
im curious what do you people think of autopetters costing only costing 50k
if you go joja
It's the biggest benefit of going Joja but I still wouldn't do it because Morris has such a punchable face
Hoe is almost my last excluding trash can
I never get more than 1 coop and 1 barn. Autopetters naturally appear in SC, and I end up trashing many of them
went joja for the achievement and then never played the save again
I like 2 coops and 2 barns
I need you all to know that I was one of the nerds in high school, and
I would shove this in a locker.
i do watering can last ngl
Yeah. When i eventually go for that achievement, im just gonna make a new save with legacy RNG and clay farm all the money lmao
There is an easier way
That really just illustrates the disparity between foraging and other skills, too. You can clearcut a farm's worth of trees and not level. Whereas even a relatively small crop harvest can level up a skill quickly.
My thought process is that I use the watering can more than my hoe if you exclude artifact spots (which aren’t really affected by upgrades)
Get the last item for the CC, but save (i.e. sleep) before handing it in
Next day: hand in the last item and then buy the membership in that order
The Joja development form is already complete so you get the Joja completion scene on the subsequent day
Revert to the previous day's save and finish the CC again without buying the membership
I... don't think that's true
Trees grow in 4 days with fertilizer and are worth 12 EXP (13 if including stump)
Parsnips grow in 4 days by default and are worth 8 EXP
All skills have the same EXP reqs to level.
You can get from Foraging 8 to 10 in considerably fewer trees than farming 8 to 10 in parsnips
But I can’t taint grandpa’s pure farm 😢
The big moneymaker in the summer, where I usually reach Farming 10, is the Blueberry bush.
These have a 4 day regrow. They're worth 10 EXP per harvest, still less than a tree
Grandpa can sense time travel 😔
Grandpa is a Timelord who ran out of regenerations
Not really the comparison to be made.
Important to keep in mind that farming EXP is cut in half in regards to mastery leveling. (Crops are still the best EXP source tho lmao)
This was about getting to 10 to begin with
It's easy to get a few hundred of a crop.
^
I mean I have way too many pinecones
Do you have 400?
it's is easy to plant 100+ trees in the train station. Now to cut them down, it will take you most of the day if you do not have a golden+ axe.
100+.
do truffles give forraging xp?
- I wouldn't have 400 blueberries at that time
- 400 trees is enough to go from Lv9 to 10 in one fell swoop tbh
yes
This is why I do in fact consider the axe a decently high priority to upgrade
You upgrade the pick to spend less time and energy mining. You upgrade the axe to spend less time and energy woodcutting
I feel like that only adds to my point, too. It's not intuitive to use nonfarm space for that sort of thing.
Okay but by the time I’m actually trying/wanting to grind foraging, levels 8-9, my axe is already naturally upgraded
I’ve never thought “I need to upgrade my axe so I can level foraging faster”
I mean. I have. Because of the Spring thing
Gatherer also accelerates foraging xp gains
Picking whether the pick or axe would get the first upgrade actually needed me to stop and think about it, because I would have to stop doing the associated thing for that time
i always upgrade axe first
Forester is such a joke compared to the other path
cause im rushing the mines and need a pickaxe
Going out on weekly foraging trips on Fridays (only Saturday is denser in forage) meant I could also hand out gifts to the townies on that day
Ye, valid. I think I might've went the other way (hand in the pick so I could keep woodcutting for the next few days) but this was definitely a concern
It seems a pretty accepted strategy is to upgrade your pickaxe to steel during week 1.
In my opinion, Days 1 through 7, and especially 1 through 5, set the tone for your Stardew Valley Experience. A solid start will put you on pace to achieve perfection within two in game years! In preparation for the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, I've been working on the perfect jumpstart to my save file. I want to start fast, and be ready for anyth...
i once did all 120 floors of the mine using a basic pickaxe 😭 😭 😭 😭
It’s nice to have. If you don’t plan on using pigs, it’s the better choice imo
At a certain point, iridium quality forage isn’t gonna matter too much
Gatherer and botanist have synergies with everything
Idk why but I misread this as SC 💀
Forester gives nothing that you cannot have with a tree farm/strategy.
I've heard of someone going Forester first and then swapping to Botanist at Lv10.
They pointed out the number of trees murdered in that time, would be worth more than the reset fee's value in timber purchased from Robin in y1.
I hate it but I can't deny that they have a point...
Extra wood is nice and the tapper profession is better now with mystic trees
But again, if I’m not gonna use pigs, I don’t value botanist THAT much since after a while, iridium forage is negligible
Except for a few things like magma caps but that doesn’t even matter now due to the dehydrator
Botanist is nice because all forage is the same quality so it stacks into fewer inventory spaces
Counter point: by the time I have lvl10 foraging, I don’t care to pick up most forage 💀
I do still grow Winter wild seeds and that benefits from Botanist quite a lot since iridium isn't even normally possible. And even accounting for crops sacrificed to craft more seeds, this is still better profit than most spring crops
Meh
What do you plant during winter ? blue melons ?
Winter Wild Seeds
winter wild seeds are very strong
The forage seeds
I usually don’t plant anything in winter
Powdermelons... uh, exist.
That's the best thing I can say about them
Spend my time on other things
Idk why but I HATE the name “powder melon.” The concept just makes me feel uncomfortable
It makes me think of one of those little powdered donuts, but, like, in a really bad sense. Idk how to describe it 😭
I think I like any other random seed dropped by monsters but this one. I ship it, I keep a few in case the raccoon asks for some, then never touch it again, not even with a stick
Carrots are nice since they speed up your horse a bit
Real-life winter melons are also known as the wax gourd. I suspect the "melon named after the texture of its surface" thing is the inspiration for the powdermelon
Side note: what type of melon is the stardew melon?
None. It's inspired by a different fictional one
Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Rune Factory have the Pink Melon. Its name in the original Japanese is a pun: Otomelon, from Otome (Japanese word for young woman) and the English word... Melon
That series of games is one of the primary inspirations for this one, so yeah
These look refreshing (I don’t like melons tho)
I didn't realize Parsnips weren't fictional at first. The pink melons caused me to just continue not thinking about whether or not Parsnips may or may not exist in reality
I’ve wanted to play Harvest Moon, but every time I think about it, I just think I’ll end up going “Yeah this is neat but sucks compared to stardew “
LMAO
I’m sorry but that’s funny
I would recommend specifically Rune Factory 4
What system is it on
Unless same-sex marriage is extremely important to you, in which case Rune Factory 5 does allow that but had serious problems in its development that caused it to be considerably worse than 4 as a game
Um, several. Let me go look it up
Winter 27. Red cabbage fully grown.
Originally on 3DS
Received improved ported versions for Switch, PS4, XBox One, and Steam
Reminds me of Tomedachi Life 💀
Well I have a 3ds, switch, and pc, so I guess that’s good
Maybe I’ll get it when I have money
Ty 👍
I was almost disappointed by how amazing RF4 was.
I was waiting on RF5 to get into the series because it was announced to allow same-sex marriage (I am a pervert who likes to see girls kiss).
So when I tried RF4 and it was so good that I could definitely see RF5 being worse as a game than this, I was... saddened.
I haven't tried RF5 yet. Waiting to see if it'll be at 50% or greater discount for the Steam Winter Sale
Also it’s considered as both veggie and fruit at least in my place
RF5's dev troubles were caused by, err, its studio shutting down mid-development. Some of the staff and properties were bought up by another studio, and then Covid happened... and so RF5 was unpolished and janky
RF5 needs mods.
It needs mods so badly.
Also please play it on PC. It's awful on the Switch.
There's a sort-of-spinoff on the horizon. That's kinda why I'm interested in picking up RF5 if it goes on sale.
I saw an RF5 character in the trailer. It was a kid during RF5's timeframe but an adult in this game's timeframe
Ah yes, Hina.
Sweet little Hina.
Who I cannot adopt because her mother has a husband abroad.
Tragically
This is gonna sound bad but I don’t like any vegetables… Literally any I try I don’t like. The only fruit I like are Strawberries, grapes, and apples, in that order.
Fries?
(Not counting potatoes in this lol)
Fries win every time 🍟
Because when someone says, “eat your veggies,” they typically aren’t referring to potatoes 😳
I do like potatoes though
Fried or roasted particularly
Roasted potatoes slap though.
I dislike most vegetables but do appreciate stir-fried broccoli.
Broccoli is best if you melt a Kraft single on the top. Don't ask me why, it just is.
Cheese and broccoli is a classic combination
Normally you don't plop a kraft slice on, but... despite the memes, American cheese is usually just not-aged cheddar
So it works fine
No I usually use a cheese slice. Idk why but artificial cheese hits even better specifically for this.
it's no more artificial than other cheeses tbh, it's just... cheddar that hasn't been aged
It's valid
Ah, fair.
Honestly, I don’t like the term “picky eater”
Why should we make people feel bad for something they can’t control? I.e., their taste buds
I mean hey, if you wanna order chicken tenders at every restaurant, that’s alright by me 🤷♀️
Pickiness has nothing to do with maturity either, that downplays various reasons someone might be pickier.
When will be an update for phone?
4th Novemeber
I like parsnips. Turnips, not so much.
YES
Like why should we be pressuring people into buying, preparing, and/or eating food they don’t like?
I know people of my family who were stuck not liking some food bc reason. Then one day they accepted to eat it and found it was nice. They are not fond of it, but they are not like yuke anymore. Also taste changes/evolves over time and when you get older.
I personally like a lot of different food. But there are still few stuff I still do not like. Sometimes I choose to eat some food I did not like in the past to check. Maybe it had nothing to do with the ingredient or dish, but with the preparation.
People trying to make someone else taste something are not vicious sadistic torturers. They might want to share a taste and pleasure they have.
Does that include Gotoro prison camp giving Joja Cola to Kent
I’m mainly talking about the people who shame “picky eaters”
Hey, that's between me and my cat. 😝
My first one of these ...
I have a new favorite set of bobbers
double quality so i literally dont have to care about playing the minigame
also its amazing for inventory management
So has anyone else seen the intro screen to the game where CA's pink ape icon is surrounded in a field of falling green leaves when you click on it?
I had some lucky finding them when using an artifact totem at the ginger island dig site
On a stardrip luck day, I tried fishing with two treasure chest bobbers, magnet bait, and the pirate profession
Thanks. I'll try to remember that.
Only got one cracker lol
Hm, considering how little the treasure bobbers do, I think dressed spinners would be more effective
Double dressed spinner is nigh-instant bites.
Oh yeah absolutely
The reduction from the dresses spinner is incredible
I was getting a lot of treasure chests. I just didn’t get many crackers
I guess I’m unlucky
Hey the odds of getting one from an artifact spot are around 0.9%
So I guess I was right about the totems being for for crackers
One totem has a 13.6% chance of turning up at least one cracker
SQuidfest: Do the squids appear all day or just during the usual times?
All day
Sheesh - 3 good luck days in a row for the skull cavern - don't think I need to roll the third day though, i've got 167 iridium ore to process as it is
Have other things I need to do with y1 winter's last week
Spam buy wood/coal before the prices screw you over
Meh - I've got thousands of wood and several hundred coal
It's not even funny
I need to clear more of the farm for the next year and hope I still have enough batteries
Coal shortages are pain
Battery shortages too
Farming iridium bats for them feels a bit too dangerous
And huzzah, I finally have my minecarts unlocked (grumble grumble modded community center bundles grumble grumble)
3 celestine, 1 petrified slime, and 3 mudstone are evil evil requirements
There's never enough coal and wood
You will need more at some point
And buying cheaper is obviously better
Is there any news about the physical encyclopedia? I would like to buy the Last version ( 1.6.8) but they said to wait fort he next version....but I'm not sure if it come out
1.6.9 is being released on the 4th of November, so I'd hold off
Yeah it's less than 2 weeks
And what if 1.7.0 will come out? This guide book will be always useless until a X year that the game will not receive updates anymore?
If 1.7 comes out it will be a long time from now
First CA is gonna work on hc
So we don't know if we're even gonna see 1.7
Yea like the last 2 updates 🤣 everytime we thought the same and then the announcement ahah
Well it's up to you if you wanna get the book or not
But it'll be years before it possibly comes out
@mellow atlas iridium scythe
ohh
from farming mastery
but i dont think it harvests trellis crops
it does
oh ok
Does it have any noteworthy changes?
It has a few things added and many fixes/balances
there's a bunch of quality-of-life stuff too
Whats new on 1.6.9?
the patch notes aren't exactly public yet but if you search a bit there's a link to them somewhere in #making-mods-general
just checking; buying the remaining walnuts still counts for perfection right?
yes
good, just wanted to make sure it didn’t lock me out of things like some joja options do
i took a hiatus so i have no idea where the last 5 walnuts are or which ones i got
The walnut bird seems to show up really early.
