Iridium Smoked Fish, my beloved. (Though 1 coal : 1 fish is rough)
It's not bad, it's just an extra step (And that cuts into your profits)
Smoked Lava Eel, Smoked Blobfish etc are amazing money though
buying things from clint is a sin
if I could upgrade my tools myself I would
Suppose get a coal blessing and just mega bomb the crap out of the mines or skull cavern
it beats and radioactive bars in terms of money gained from one piece of coal so that says quite a bit
not worth it honestly
I'd rather kill dust sprites
well then I'm a war criminal
on my main file I bought like 10 stacks of coal from him
honestly I never really had many problems with getting coals especially now that 1.6 added actual coal nodes
coal nodes are nice but for stuff like sc deep dives it's not enough
I still need more radioactive bars to build all my heavy tappers but the dangerous mines are being stingy
it's kind of sad radioactive ore didn't get much use
like yeah there's like 4 crafting recipes but still
I guess it sells for a good sum
oh I'm slowly running out of it again lmao
"running out of it" while showing 2+ stacks is crazy
I've had like 6 or 8 stacks
watchu been doing
that's the amount of ore I'm working with
uhh nothing...
Bah - I forgot to rebuild my mahogany farm and now I need hardwood
I can't imagine needing that much bars or ore for anything besides maybe radioactive bars for heavy tappers
they're for selling I assume
theyre trying to make clint bankrupt
I better don't tell what year I'm on then
yes
The Skull Caverns probably look more like an open quarry at this point
iridium and gold are for crytsalariums
copper and iron are for kegs (that I'm going to craft at some point)
goodluck with the pine tars!
on lucky days with +1 ore from statue of the dwarf king and +0.5 speed from statue of blessings yes
my pb now is nearly 7k ore
It's only misery at the start of the game - If you've set up a tapping farm (Which I expect they've done), you'll be drowning by the end of year 2
thats true
I'm moving my oak resin factroy now so yeah it's going to take a bit of time
i see
Bless Green Rain and Tree Fertilizers for that kind of stuff
my quarry has become resin farm
oh nvm they're done
most likely gonna change that still
and I think I know how
I got orange. Is it random? Or does everyone get the same prizes every time, in a particular order?
Correction - It's just the entries have some variance
Like Entry 2 will be Peach or Orange
Fish Smoker or Dehydrator, etc
I'm playing Riverlands. I'm not impressed with the fish smoker like I have been the dehydrator. I can think of better uses for coal than increasing the value of a fish less than the value of the coal you're using up. If it smoked more than one fish per coal, then I'd be all in and making more. But one-to-one is a very stingy ratio, making it useful for only the upper echelon of fishes, imo.
Keep in mind to also compare it as 10 wood : 1 doubled fish value
Via the charcoal kiln
I used the smoker twice very early in the game to get some decent food for mining. Haven't used it since.
Stuff like Blobfish, Lava Eels, etc get really valuable really fast
lava eel goes crazy
But if you have excess wood, feeding it into a charcoal kiln gives you the "cheap" path to high value fish
(And I'm playing on 25% margin and think they're crazy good value)
nearly 6k for one if you get iridium quality, smoked, angler and artisan
can feel what you're going through
(Ok, I say 25%, and it is 25%, but I do have a few mods that end up playing with the balance - Longevity for taxes is good fun)
I'll have to make another list and give it a try. Does Fisher factor into the pricing?
I'm not a big fan of fishing to begin with. I'll do it, but once I get Master Angler, I'm done with it. I chose Riverlands not for the fishing (which has been great being able to do so at home, I'll be honest), but because I thought it would make a pretty farm, and I'm trying to not be so hardcore, max-profit power-gamey this time around.
Billionaire run burnt me out really hard.
Cool. Thanks.
Yeah - It's Fish Price after Bonuses and Quality x 2, then it becomes an artisanal good and benefits from the artisan perks
that's why smoking is powerful
But at 250 a pop for coal, if you're buying it, you really need to be selective with your fish. I have hundreds of ores to process from my last SC run (my first decent one) and I'm considering more jars (currently at 16 each of jars and kegs) and that is a lot of coal.
I mean - How's the wood situation?
About a stack. Needed for jars and kegs at this point, which will make a LOT more money than fishing ever could.
why not both
Fair - It sounds like you just have different needs at this point
The roe can be put in jars. If you fish and go treasure hunter and get roe, the synergy becomes really profitable. You smoke the fish, you put the roe in jars and from a single catch, you get 15k
I did not do the maths, maybe slightly exagerating but not by much
charcoal kiln is only early game. Later you burglar ring and monster compendium which makes farming dusts very coal profitable
you get the quarry which gives coal on its own, you get their quarry mines which give coal. You get the mining statue that gives days with more coal.
you have a mining profession that gives more coal
Monster musk also helps farming dusts
There will always be a summer sapling (random which one) in that specific slot, and an autumn sapling (random which one) in a later specific slot
So either peach or orange first, then either pom or apple second
The default CC bundles want a pom and three apples, so that autumn tree is a big help
is this new lmao i don't think ive ever seen this layout
Can spawn randomly once you've reached 120 at least once, stays that way for the rest of the day when it happens
Just to keep you on your toes
There are several new floorplans that do that
Yes, I know all this. This is not my first rodeo. I still think fishing comes in a distant second to farming in moneymaking, especially with artisan goods. And doubly so as a return on TIME investment.
The smoker may have done a lot to improve the fisherman's lot in life, but there's a reason Willy lives in a run-down shack with a boat he can't afford to repair. š¤£
Fishing is a poor-man's profession in this game, even still. But if you enjoy it, then that makes it worthwhile. Like I said above, though, I'm not overly fond of fishing.
I'll most likely go so far as to make another of smoker, so I have two and smoke the more valuable fish.
Oh, fishing pops right off insanely in 1.6
Lava eeling with targeted bait and Artisan
It's easier to get the materials to do that than to get them for a massive SC delve, too
damn that's pretty cool i like the variation, thanks for the info mate
And if Extended Family is up, it's possibly the biggest money per in-game hour period
Iridium Legends drools
35000G with Fisher and Artisan in the Smoker, or 42000G if you go with Angler instead (though I think Pirate is too good in 1.6 to give up)
It's insane
I made like 2.5m during extended family I think
wild bait popped off and got me 22 legends in one day
And it's so doable with Cork + Quality
Think I would prefer Trap+Quality myself. But yeah
Or even a Dressed Spinner in there somewhere
trap bobber best bobber proven by science (my opinion)
Flavor of choice - I like the extra bar size personally
But yeah Quality is required to push gold -> iridium unless it was drunk and sleeping
Bar size can be gotten from fishing food, the snare effect can't
I feel like if a fish escapes it's 90% of the time because it darted away in a terrible pattern right as you hooked it when you have no buffer and it can escape right away
trap bobber makes that almost impossible
In my case I just have really slow reflexes
it doesn't really matter how quick you are, a really annoying fish will be quicker than you
Sure, just that more fish will meet that criterion against me and my molasses reaction time
Me and my amazing sloth-like reflexes
only more reason to keep that trap bobber on 24/7
I think I only stopped using it with challenge bait
Ye, I like the trap bobber. Cheap to make, too
I'll have to give that a try when I reach that point. Thanks for the tips.
Sure though you can have a doubly large bar size by doing both the cork and the buffs. Not saying Iād pick cork over trap but it isnāt the most sound argument seeing as there isnāt a low limit to bar size
I've always found the much-touted "bar size increase" from cork bobber to be greatly exaggerated by those who champion its cause. I'm firmly in the camp of trap bobber. But I'm also not someone who fishes more than he has to.
Yeah itās only the equivalent of 3 levels
Though with a reinforced rod 2 of them can be considerable
More useful if youāre trying to perfect catch stuff tbh tho
+3 skill (Lobster Bisque) is +24 pixels
+4 skill (Seafoam Pudding) is +32 pixels
+5 skill (Seafoam with seasoning) is +40 pixels
Cork is +24
Each level is just 8
Lv10 bar size is 176 pixels
So the difference between Bisque alone and Bisque + 1 cork is 200 --> 224
The bar size bonus isn't that huge and it's even diluted a little by the size bonus from food
Sure but thatās purely quantitative, in reality it mirrors the actual escape patterns of the fish
Thereās certain bar sizes that with good play the fish just canāt escape
First time I saw it I thought it was a glitch or bug that duplicated all the mine carts haha
And in that regard youāre catching them faster
I mean, no I wouldn't, because my reflexes are slow
Like, last time my trap bobber broke and I didn't have a spare ready, I immediately started failing against Lava Eels. This was with a fishing buff up. A cork on top, would definitely not have been enough to make the difference there
It's not necessarily the difference between catching and catching faster. It's the difference between catching and failing entirely
As I said itās fish and skull dependant
Usually thereās just an exact point where the same actions can net a catch on x fish with minor changes
And the way the fishing bar works each subsequent increase is more important than the last
The stuff it takes to reach the tipping point, means making too many sacrifices in other things
Like, sure, I won't need a trap bobber when the bar is half the play field, but then I don't have Quality nor Dressed Spinner anymore either
Not necessarily
And again itās dependant on fish and skill, youāre particularly focused on your situation with lava eel only
Thatās decently specific, and youāre doing it for cash which adds further complexity as you most likely wonāt be perfect catching them and just want quality bobber
The other situation I'd see myself in, is if Qi finally spawned Extended Family, which would be even moreso
In your case the trap bobber is more useful
For someone else the cork may not be as bad as a choice as painted to be
I can't even catch Sturgeons consistently without the trap bobber, and I'm not about to break out the seafoam for something as common as those
Reminds me that I need to fish soon for more sardines. I have plenty of potatoes.
Dish o' the Sea enthusiast? I prefer Bisque but I suppose lobsters are difficult to get for most people
(I'm on the beach farm)
Ah, Riverlands here. And I still only have the 3 crab pots I got from the CC, and they're all in the water behind the house next to my fishing spot.
I don't even know if I have the recipe for Bisque yet. Mid-Spring, year 2.
Also unlocked decently late as a recipe
If you arenāt buying them (and thatās rather late too)
I only eat fishing buffing when I have to catch a legendary or for night market as it gives some chance to catch an octopus.
I heard carb pots give good fishing xp. I need to put some in a river. I find they require to much work for what they give. I wish I could put 5 or ten baits at once, so I do not have to unequipe baits from my pole then scroll etc
Smt like mid winter from the tv or Willy 8+ hearts
Which is pretty far along
I will agree itās the superior fishing food though
Itās what? A milk and a lobster?
I usually make 3 ponds for the Seafoam recipe: Flounder, Midnight Carp, Midnight Squid. Though Dangerous Mines tended to give me more squid ink than the pond. LOL
dish of sea come as cc reward and squid fest reward. Not sure you need a lot of them
Crab pots aren't great for fishing EXP, though they are prominently featured in a "go from Lv0 to Lv10 in one day" meme (which requires hundreds or maybe thousands of them)
I did that a while ago. It is nice on paper, but midnight squids come quite late. I did not need them anymore after first night market.
The context was spamming other player slots to recatch legendaries over and over
So without the time freeze from fishing, crab pots were the plan
Ah fair, I was wondering how you were getting crab pots at level 0
Yeah, requires the host to already have everything prepared to "feed" the farmhands
Lobsters are gonna be a problem for most players. Rarest crab pot catch in saltwater. Beach farm players have it easier, as do co-op players (have one Mariner on the team to place the pots, and lobsters become as common as the other catches)
Also lava eel and blobfish are way better in fish ponds, bc they actually make money + in the beta, you can put legend fish in ponds, meaning these fish that only have the purpose to give you a unique recipe ingredient are quite expensive, space wise. Fish ponds take 5x5 tiles, it adds up quickly
...For me, the problem was getting snails, as the freshwater pond on the Beach Farm has a higher trash rate for pots...
The raccoons want them. Maybe they're bartering with Vincent
Raccoons request are random
I mean yes but snails were the thing they wanted that time
And there's no handy freshwater on the beach farm, have to leave the farm for it
They drop more squid ink. They aren't an ingredient for the pudding. I also regretted them not being useable for Fried Calamari, so I might just go for regular squid just to have something to feed picky Pierre (seriously, who only loves one thing? and that one thing having tentacles? Dude's a freak. 𤣠).
I ended up putting them in the GI farm's river. I go there more often than Cindersap
Nowadays we can just buy extra Price Catalogues from the bookseller for Pierre
It would be nice to be able to "terraform" your farm in some way. Creating a natural pond, a bridge, a mining farm.
Vincent's the only reason I have crab pots in the water in the first place. LOL
I fear for Jodi's sanity, dealing with all those hecking snails he brings home
So much about 1.6 I have yet to learn.
šš š
Pierre likes daffodil, dandelion, crocus which come with iridium quality. I think I end up giving him some fried calamari from Linus and there is not much more friendship to gain anymore.
Better than Kent bringing home crabs ...
Iridium wildflowers are better given to that other shopkeep tbh
Yeah, Linus was a blessing with the Fried Calamari. Especially when I was still repeating the Qi's Prismatic Grange quest often.
I always have 50+ of iridium crocus, by the end of Y1, so it's not an offer problem
Blue melons are that bad.
I am not happy with my house, idk what to do because I was trying to make a room based loosel off every skill
THe fishing room, mining room, combat/adventure room, foraging room
So how good is the fish smoker, Iām early game and money is hard to get
I need ideas lol
Is that modded? Or are there more rooms in 1.6?
All vanilla so it's more rooms
Very cool.
Some people really love it. I think you might need coal for other things. One coal to one fish cuts into the profits quite a bit. I guess it depends on how good you are at getting a lot of free coal. Because buying wood from Robin in year 1 and turning 100 of it into one piece of coal would mean any fish you smoke worth less than 100g is losing you money.
yes it is a good starter. Try to catch largemouth at the mounatin lake during spring Y1
And smoke them?
smoke comes later
Iām in summer y1
I would recommened creating a preserving jar farm before going for smoking
jars take 8 coal
summer fishing is about the ocean.
Whattt thatās so much
wood is only 10g if you buy it from Robin during y1
you should have plenty of trees to cut though
strawberries from spring, melons blueberries
when you unlock kegs it becomes better to make wine
but some crops are still more profitable with jars
you want many jars and many kegs
1 tile tables to put items on them, then get crazy
[[Preserves_Jar]]
Thank youuu
Strawberries, cauliflower, melons, pumpkins. High value crops make the best jellies/pickles.
Only cauliflowers remain more profitable in jars instead of kegs. But reaching the farming level for kegs takes time. In fall, you should have it though and pumpkins should be processed in kegs.
The wiki has a list
get a bait maker and a fish smoker and when it's catfish season fish for them anytime it rains
Yams in jars are pretty good
Tea leaves being better in jars than in kegs is strange.
What does it make in jars
Pickled leaves?
Very normal snack
There's a case to be made for jars and pumpkins of you want to make money quicker.
Juice takes 4 days to make, pickles take 3 days. Pumpkin juice base price is 720, while pickles go for 690. Sounds better to make juice, right?
But every 12 days you make juice, you are getting 3 batches for a total of 2160, while in the same 12 days you can make four batches of pickles for 2760.
Add to this fact that all veggies except pumpkins and red cabbage are actually worth less as juice than pickles, and this is why I say you should never make juice.
me making potato juice for pam
LOL. I set aside a dozen potatoes for just this occasion.
thats good preparation
better preparation is getting 12 fairy dust so youāre not wasting kegs
boil em mash em stick em in a stew
You called?
screams internally
I usually do not have much to put in my kegs, while I have many options for jars. Late into the game, my jars are used for fish roe. I think I will keep on doing what I am doing, but your point stands and is interesting.
I had jars set aside for just fish roe, so I can understand the need for dedicated jars for that. It was my first real save and I had 8 ponds. I'm trying to get back to that kind of diversity, on a smaller scale since I have Riverlands this time with not as much room as I'm accustomed to.
confirmed: the Old Mariner does show up during radioactive rain
He just looks a little different.
Riverlands is cruel. When I played it, I remember pushing the house up, and the green house to the right and using the freed gh space for ponds. Maybe the centered island should have been my choice but I setup a tree farm there. No fish pond on riverland seems counter intuitive. Their 5x5 size is a real pain on these lands.
I've noticed. I've used the big center island for the barn and coop, as it has the most land for grass. The mainland has the house, three different crop plots, the greenhouse and one shed (with room for another) and my tree tapper farm on the grass.
That leaves very little room for fish ponds. And I'll have to break them up as the biggest spots only have room for 2, and I want at least 4.
And I have to be careful to leave room for my horse to get through.
I feel the map should have promoted using fishponds instead of making them harder to get. We need a warp zone to Dave the diver.
junimos have a 20% chance to double harvest if fed raisins
wine or dehydrated stuff or jelly
raisins last 1 week and are applied to the junimo hut
Is it not better with dehydrated raisin ? I never play junimos
raisins are already dehydrated grapes
i knew they had something to do with junimo i just didnāt know what
How to get junimo hut
you have to complete a quest for the wizard and you get access to his catalogue, you can build it from there
That game freaks me out. It not only has my name, it kind of looks like me. LOL
Yeah, it's the most important one to get.
This is of course assuming that you have more crops than you are capable of processing
If you produce 100 crops a week, and you have a choice of 100 kegs, 100 jars, or 100 dehydrators... you just pick whichever gets you the most money per crop, because you're not going to be making full use of the crops regardless
Allegedly, ones you haven't yet completed have a better chance of spawning-- for both Qi's orders and the regular Special Order board back in town.
I don't know if it's true and I don't know how big the effect is if so, though. (Qi keeps spamming me with SC Invasion...)
He's trying to tell you something
I keep having the hungry challenge, and no
absolutely the worst one out of all of them
well maybe except Junimo Kart, depending on your luck with sunset speedway š
fr the rng is crazy
sometimes you can't even reach the fruits without popping bubbles
First time I reached it, I had a perfect game and got 30k points
I died on the first bubble
the challenge stopped that day x)

I have never played junimo kart even once and I intend to keep it that way
a wise decision
Junimo Cart is "How many ways can RNG hate you"
I played Junimo Kart like once, and it was... frustrating but more playable for me than Prairie King ever could be ;_; (and I always skip the Qi quest for it because no.)
(at least with Junimo Kart it's only the RNG that hates me and not the controls)
Junimo Kart's decision of "Well, you made a move without knowing of the existence of the next jump because it was offscreen, now die" is real 'fun'
BOI controls
oh I agree. it's not good, it just has Binding of Isaac controls without BOI's option to swap them (that I enabled immediately so I could play BOI)
fr
(arrow keys for movement are just more intuitive to me than WASD)
i got 50020 and never touched it again!
Junimo Cart is mostly fine
One mess up and you shall cry
Whale level and mushroom level however can go die in a hole
Whale level can just screw you with bubble RNG blocking the critical path, and there's nothing you can do about it, because the level gen doesn't account for the bubbles
And the spore mushrooms in the mushroom level have a similar problem - they're randomly placed after the level gen and not guaranteed to be possible. They usually are, but not always
ghastly galleon
the amount of runs i have lost to it on a second loop is crazy
speaking of which i havent done junimo kart in a while so i should do some now !!!
You should give it a try. This is a truly amazing game.
I struggle so bad with prairie king because of the controls
Which is a shame because I really dig the concept
I learned that you can cheese the Abigail Heart Event one by just sticking to a corner and having good reflexes
You literally don't have to move from the corner, just shoot up down and diagonally
loll i suppose that works
Prairie King is fun until the graveyard world IMO
i remember trying to beat it years back. i had like a steam guide open trying to figure it out
i Think i made it past the first shop
its mostly good except fector is hard and 3-3 is like so stupid with the amount of imps that it spawns
i say fector is hard but thats an assumption because i've done the machine gun cheese every time
I tried to cheese him but failed to so had to fight him the normal way
He's not too bad
Getting to him is the main problem
Is there any way to change vendors in the desert festival other than sleeping in different locations?
I checked alex and elliott and they're very far (in years 22 for Alex and 26 for Eliott)
I didn't think sleeping in different locations could change that
That's news to me
That's what I did when I went to collect the spouse weapons
I'm missing Alex and Elliott and they're not BUDGING to be in the stalls
I thought the only way to manipulate it was with marriages and divorces
Not only that but the person running and time you sleep
Dang it may seem I'll need to break a few hearts...
But desert festival vendors are supposed to be seeded?
Ish
They can be changed to another depending on the person running, the time and location you sleep at
I got Abigail by switching Pierre through sleeping at the farm using a tent at around 7PM
Actually... I think I get what's happening with that
I think the order of the list of vendors is dependent on which map they're on at the end of the previous day
How would that work
Does it mean depending on the area they were at when I sleep would give them a chance or so?
Yeah, I think so. So if you want Alex or Elliot, you probably want to try sleep when they're in transit between different maps
By transit meaning when they're going from one place to another?
That may or may not explain why I get Sam's family almost every year in the desert festival
Well, not actually there, because that's winter
Dang that's going to be tedious
I just got to spring lmao
Hmm would blocking the villagers help with this?
I'm planning to block every single villager except elliott and alex
I don't think so
Shoot
When you mention transit do you mean the frame when they enter to another location
No
I just meant when they're passing through a map where they're only there for a short while
Oh gosh
But this is why marriage messes with who gets selected AFAIK
Because it means that your spouse ends the day in your house
Rather than their house
Dang
And that changes the order
I don't wanna lose my zero marriage streak
Oh, you can probably also influence it by hiring Robin to build something lol
Hmm does Robin need to run the stand?
Since that means she'll be on your farm or in a building
I could try that too
I don't think it really controls things that precisely
Might need to make her build a building that costs two days
I think the way it works is basically that it affects the order in which villagers get loaded before the list gets shuffled
That's going to be tedious considering he goes there during winter
Been sleeping in tents when Alex was going out of the house
Still no change
Currently spring year 11
Yeah, the changes would only ever be minor
Farming mastery is usually the first pick
thanks
I went for mining 1st in my current run(farming 2nd). I needed ores at the time and it payed off.
A few SC runs, farming for iridium rocks, and you will get 3 first mastery unlocks quite fast.
sc runs are one of the best ways to get exp for mastery so that's a good reason to go mining first
you're going to have better sc runs
I just upgraded to the new version (I went from mobile to PC) damn it's full of stuff I wish I had right away
If you have the gear and skill for a deep dive you can even get all masteries from a single dive
Do have to mine a fair bit, easier during the desert fest (calico nodes give same xp as iridium for some reason)
Third day of the desert fest. Not really enthused about the stuff you can buy with those calico eggs so far. First day I got 20 coal from Clint, the only thing worth buying. The trading cart at least had some roasted hazelnuts so I have a loved gift for Kent.
Second day some fiber and clay from Vincent, and wood chipper that I'll never use from Kent, and pocketed the extra 60 calico eggs because it didn't seem like a measly 2 staircases was worth the exchange. All-in-all, it was hardly worth the two days it took to get a meager amount of stuff.
I end up dumping most of my calico eggs into mega bombs
The one with Krobus, or the one below that? Nothing interesting to me in either one.
Krobus?
And completing the kill 10 mummies quest twice has depleted my stock of staircases and bombs to the point where it was not really worth the cost.
I don't think the egg tent shop is rub by Krobus
But it offers a Magic Rock Candy on day 3
Plus a lot of rare clothes and furniture
And bombs and food and stuff
I usually just spend all of mine on the forage books
Got level 2-10 in 3 days with it
Whatever this dude is that looks like Krobus hiding behind the counter with only the top of his head popping up.
I think I'm going to revert to yesterday's save and skip the last two days of this fest and do something more worth my time and get back at least yesterday's bombs and staircases I burned for a measly amount of calico eggs that only got me some fiber and clay I could have just as easily gotten elsewhere in a fraction of the time and at none of the cost.
No good villager shops spawned those days?
Oh, okay.
The calico eggs themselves at least come with a lot of EXP (50 per node) to quickly race through Mastery levels if you're not maxed yet.
I suspect you might already have maxed it, though
Not at level 10 in all skills yet. Maybe next year it will be a consideration, but now it's not. I'm more concerned with the equivalent of paying $100 on carnival games to win a stuffed teddy bear worth $7. What I dropped on bombs and staircases, on bad luck days no less, wasn't worth what I got in return.
I had a pretty good day in SC the day before the Fest.
I think I'll save my bombs and staircases to have another one of those.
I'm still waiting for the Switch update to come.
is there a mistake?
Any mods?
Odd
i also heard that you can get unusual color from item id glitch but they change color when stacked with regular
and they can be only regular quality
Yeah you're not supposed to get the pink one according to wiki
here is another screenshot
The one you only have one of
Very weird lol
cause i used to plant a lot of them on fall
How do I get such a big chest, or is that a mod?
For you to get 6 like that it's cause they're not very rare. Even if they were, it would still be in the game code so it would be on the wiki
1.6 big chest
Oh nice, thanks!
so it becomes really strange...
Yeah it does
i use steam version with 0 mods even didn't use glitches
Ah perfecto, thank you š«”
@chilly bloom do you still have the power to change the wiki? i found something strange
(7 colours of fairy roses)
flowers
Was this in multiplayer by any chance?
Iāve seen issues arising from that
yeah, was it the reason?
Did they have a mod by any chance?
No visual mods or anything
and these flowers were produced in single player afterwards
still no
Oh damn really
Because all flowers naturally have 7 obtainable colours but one isnāt harvestable
hmm but they cant be diffent quality?
Exactly
So could you lay out the flowers of the different colours right next to eachother and resend the ss?
They arenāt banned here but a ss would be best
A chest with just the 7 colours and no duplicates
okay give me a sec
Thank you š
@chilly bloom here you go
Thanks, Iāll try to figure out what I can then add to the wiki that there is another colour if I was stupid and missed that in a patch or something
It doesnāt look like a default or unintentional colour? Like itās a bright pink that fits the colour palate
So thereās a good chance it was added
i have to plant another fields of different flowers then maybe we could find out something new...
and i have to mention that all these flowers were obtained after 1.6
Yeah I thought as much, thanks
sorry to add that i turned all my regular quality fairy roses to fairy dust
Yeah do check for other flowers
No problem, the quality ones are all that matters and itās obvious to see it happens with 2/4 qualities so presumably happens with all
Hi David so sorry I missed your message
but as you can see from the quantity pink ones are rare
not really really rare but compared to other colours
I did notice that
Heya, you're good!
Like super rare, not sure whether the 1 gold or 5 silver is a fluke tho
Could you maybe harvest some more if you have the time?
i also found my ss from farm when i planted them
which is posted here long time ago
yeah i'll try that
don't see anything unusual btw
@chilly bloom idk maybe it was something related to junimos... but im more likely to think that i harvested everything myself
Unless Iām tripping I donāt see any pink ones
Though they are rare
The only thing Iāve seen thatās similar was an issue revolving around presumably a farmhand sending packets altering the look of blue jazz but that was such a particular case we arenāt even sure thatās what happened
That was specifically multiplayer with one person having visual mods too
can you try putting it on a sign and a table, maybe it changes colors?
what happens if you gift it to Evelyn or Jas, do they still love it?
The actual item isnāt changed, presumably just a colour value. Could mess around with it to confirm tho
oh, and try crafting fairy dust with it
I'll do it ant I'll keep you updated I have to do everything with just pink one?
and i just remembered i also harvested some of my roses on GI and some from flower pots on GI
but there is no pink ones
i would like to go to fall faster to record a video and maybe i could catch them
or anyone with fall on their late game save
could be a bug with the "hands full" trick while harvesting honey, maybe it changed the flower?
yeah cause i used deluxe retaining soil in them and no quality fertiliser
or maybe it's just GI feature
@chilly bloom do you still have your honey farm on GI? you could try that out
Thatās on mobile, still 1.5
I did get one hit though, the ānew colourā was as I expected the traveling cart colour
Itās just odd that you could harvest it
yeah
so there must be some terms
so maybe it was
- 1.6 new feature/bug
- GI feature/bug
- Garden pots feature/bug
- multiplayer farm feature/bug
- junimo hut's feature/bug (maybe related to raisins)
now I'll put some pots with DRS on GI to check on that
@chilly bloom can junimos with raisins duplicate flowers?
extra harvest feature
that would also proof why i have no iridium pink roses
cause i didnt use quality fertiliser on that part of farm
i only had quality fertiliser on top of my farm where there was no junimo huts
for me the raisin theory makes more sense than any other
@hushed hare @chilly bloom wdy think about that?
Ohhhhhh
You know that may be it
Itās causing them to give regular flower colours
I haven't grown too many roses with or without fertilizer, can't say much about that, but it might be
Do, I think itās it too, Iām testing myself rn
1.5 or 1.6?
Would be orettt nice even if niche, going to go suggest it to someone I know doing the 999 challenge (they like collecting quality too)
1.6 now, gone back to pc
well, junimos can duplicate only in 1.6
yeah that was the reason of my question
either it is just junimos or it is raisins
i don't know anyone who planted fields of flowers for junimos to harvest them
so that is why it was unseen
Raisins would solve why theyāre so rare
Iām checking with someone already in game but from a code perspective thatād be nice
Did they actually harvest the default colour tho?
i'm still waiting
Yeah I was about to say
Before you only got one gold one for like 180 other gold flowers
So itās rare
and if the terms are true...
maybe it was something different
i think i used speedgrow as a fertiliser too but that can't be somthing that matters
damn im going to miss out on desert fest but it's okay
Why donāt the same colour same quality stack..
They do
There's 6 different colours there for each quality
Some just look very alike
okay next try
wasted all my blue flowers now going for some tulips too
look at this mess
can u not get another golden pumpkin?
yes you can
why'd i get a ticket instead?
it is now obtainable from boxes or fishing or fest idk
spoiler image
why?
OH MB I THOUGHT THIS WAS SEASONED FARMERS
im so sorry lol š
I think it depends on even/uneven year
ok
But you can get as many golden pumpkins as you want from artifact troves
Doesn't have to be from the festival
gotcha
no damned luck with that flowers
@chilly bloom did you find anything new?
i had high hopes for that theory
gotta try on summer with speedgrow now
you sure you didn't miss it?
you have to search through available buildings and find it there
The building upgrades are in real weird spots in her menu - I've definitely had to really search to find them before
i think he found it since he deleted his message...
That's fair - I've definitely missed them before
Feel like "Upgrade Building" should really have just been its own menu item
A search bar would be great š
I can message you
?
Didnāt want to clog this chat with screenshots from our discussion but I can paraphrase
You need the hut to be full and then I belive the junimos picking up flowers will bring back ones without quality which you can then open the hut to afaik
Itās a tad confusing
But when huts are full the junimos drop items on the ground
Thatās the basic gist
yeah i had it today
i actually thought that could be it
but i didn't get any regular
did you?
anyway i sent you dm request if you have any ss or whatever you can send me
I can't speak for everyone, but I'd like it if we could also find out the resolution of the mystery of the default colored flower
Nah I basically explained it
What about it, I know most of the information around it
How long after a raccoon bundle before the next one starts?
I completed the first one and now he says maybe heāll have a wife
A week
Kk ty
AAAAHHHH
If I restart, I still get the same special orders right?
I am on Year 4 and no luck....
You could try dynamic seeding
Quests are tied to seed
Lol I hate Junimo Kart so much
JK itself (progress mode) isn't too bad, the quest is...
you get fucked over by RNG
omg what is this
oh thats your farmer LMAO i thought it's some new quest
when update for console dropping?
a lil iridium pan pal
November 4th
Dear Skull Cavern - An Auto-Grabber is nice, but I was really looking for the other one.
Was super disappointed when I saw my farmer holding it up, then read the text
relatable
Can't complain too much about a 25k item, but still.
Next floor was another treasure room - Game decided to taunt me with eggplant seeds
Qi me disliked
I mean, Qi probably robs a million graves considering all the mummies let loose
Now if only he'd stick some battery powered robots in here
if they dropped battery packs that would actually be amazing
Yeah - My sprinkler expansion is limited by batteries
28 DAYS. I ONLY GOT 3
you can never have enough crystalariums either
did you start on the last friday of the season or something?
probably
damn
i only got to 300
Hey, they're super useful for challenge runs at least
So many items accessible without spending money/visiting shops because of that
Just wish treasure rooms showed up more then once a blue moon, but then they wouldn't be special
MRC does help with that a lot
True - Just gotta stack enough luck bonuses
They just always show up on days where I have other things to get done
They're more than common enough with the amount of luck you can stack
I need to actually refill my iron and gold ore supply for bombs, and get my pickaxe fully upgraded - Ideally I'm not manually mining, but. Holding onto my MRC until I can get it all together
i need help im trying to reach 100% all crafted items but i cant find some craft recipes and idk how to get them
!checkup

Stardew checkup can help
wht that
I just linked it
so ?
some people dont want spoilers
i still dont get it
well we wouldn't want to spoil the game for people who play on other platforms, now would we
u mean they wanna experience 1.6 content themselves first time ?
yeah
yeah
i see
ok
such urges make no sense to me but everyone is different
when is 1.7 coming ?
Before GTA 6
lmfao
we dont know if there will even be a 1.7
ca wants to work on a new game
HC :D
You know what else ca wants to work on
mmm chocolate
No
if he wants to maybe
why lol... dont u wanna be part of that team ?? š„ŗ
but very unlikely
is there any video telling all whats new in 1.6 in a single video
i wish to know to avoid spoilers
@chilly bloom YEAH I GOT IT AGAIN
im pretty sure now that it cames from full junimo hut issue
@chilly bloom look what i got after i got all my junimo huts full ššš
Are those all the default unharvestable color?
guys my hoppers arenāt funneling items into my heavy furnaces and idk why
If you've checked that it's not a mod bug:
- Report gameplay bugs to the Stardew Valley developers here: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/forums/12/ (do a quick search first so you don't report something they're already looking into).
- Report typos or translation errors here: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/forums/32/
Alternatively, you can emailsupport@stardewvalley.net
yes
i also have a video footage of it
Oh awesome
That would be good for a forum report as well
no itās working for most of my heavy furnaces
i have 10 set up but only 7 are working
When used, do the books from the bookseller give +1 speed?
not that much iirc
+0.25 speed each
And the default is 5.0, I think? So that comes out to 5%
Ah okay
check an answer on the wiki for this issue
it is an already reported bug as i understand
fix is not far away
hey i saw something about a door in cindersnap, whats that all about?
there's a new 1.6 door north-east of the spot you usually find spring onions
oh okay! ill be looking into that when i start my game up! thank you!
I didn't know cindersnap is a location in stardew valley
Look man, Haunted Chocolatierās leaking, itās fine.
I hope they charge us mobile players more money, I believe no one will mind! Please just donāt give up on us, donāt give up updates mobile version and PLEASE šš» make sure Haunted Chocolatier will be on mobile too!!š
the update is literally coming to mobile next month
When the message pops up : "a new way has been opened", you do not really need to go there yet. You have to wait for the first bar to be filled to truly be able to do something.
!cindersnap
itās called āCindersap Forestā, not cindersnap!
/lh
Just found out that 100% with no tools is (kinda) possible
Why the scythe?
awh snap
Why ? which tools ?
Yeah itās fully reproducible every time, itās just how the junimos work, they donāt assign colour data to the flower when itās spawned in (the flower they pick isnāt the same as the one they drop for ease of coding)
You can't get a golden walnut without the scythe
you can
wha
If you allowed yourself to use the golden scythe and the rod you 100% the game
I do not understand
There is one golden walnut in the volcano that requires a scythe to get
really ? which one ?
you mean the crate ones?
There is one at the east of the volcano that requires the slingshot. One requires a fish rod. But the scythe ?
Multiple actually require a fishing rod.
pretty sure there is a walnut that you can't get without either steel or powerful pickaxe
The one in the west inside of the volcano the one where you get the squirrel statue
true on the beach
I do not remember ever using a scythe to get a golden walnut
this walnut already kills a no starting tools run
You do not need a scythe
unless you can somehow get it with bombs
You need to do a scythe no clip to get there
if you're no clipping then you need a scythe to even enter volcano dungeon lol
That also works
I think no starting tools is 100%able in theory? Struggling to think of what can't be done
Having fun. Having fun can't be done. š¤£
the pan is needed for some bones
Only thing I'm not sure about is whether you can dig journal scrap spots with bombs
Pan is not a starting tool
if you count upgraded pickaxe then it's not
You're allowed to use outside tools
well if you don't sell your soul
Upgraded tools don't count towards perfection
All the pickaxe ones are bombable
there's a walnut under a giant rock
you need steel pickaxe/powerful enchant
Buried walnut under a big rock
and boom the run is impossible without joja
Can't you just bomb that rock?
no
Big rocks aren't bombable
It's a 2x2 rock
And?
And those can't be bombed
I do not remember any 2x2 rock being destroyable by bombs
Anyway, I'm much more interested in Max Waivers or Minimum Earnings (No Travelling Cart)
Is there any value to increasing hearts for children?
Hm. Anyone try 25% profit margins? I'im thinking about doing a perfection run with it, wondered if anyone had tips other than not to try it?
also, fun name suggestions for the farm with 25% profit margins would be appreciated.
Not that I'm aware
They don't even count towards Perfection
25% is just slower to gain money - Your seed prices are also reduced to 25%, so it makes upgrading tools/buildings harder, but makes quests and special orders more valuable in return
Which is a shame because I want them to be more than glorified hat racks
That's awesome, i love the idea that special orders and quests are more worthwhile.
The only change in their value is that they'll make up a bigger portion of your money
That's enough incentive for me. I would normally just not because i felt like it was more worthwhile to keep the item.
same vibes as one of those cursed SIMS posts on reddit
True!
So youād just need a weapon and slingshot, as well as watering can
Skinflint Farms
Dirt Cheap Acres
Awesome names, I'll prob use the second one tbh.
Pennypinchers. Though Penny might not like it. š¤£
hahaha fair š
The crusty crab at this point. š
I wish my dog could go in the dog house
how good is master slingshot with explosive ammo
Tbh the primary use of a slingshot and explosive ammo isn't combat
It functions no differently from the regular slingshot at quickly smashing stones
is it better than using mega bombs
it only deals more dmg to you
it's not a question of or
you use both
but for different situations
First time seeing the giant qi fruit
Would archaeologist on my pan increase, decrease, or not affect the odds of getting a lucky ring?
Yeah but wouldnt the increased chance of artifacts technically decrease the chance of a ring?
Just got my first parrot egg and its a level 4!
I thought the ring was a separate independent roll
Pans aren't exactly limited to one item
Yay
Nearing perfection on my current save, but I'm tempted to make a new one and if I make a new one I'm not going back.
They have different functions. Mega Bombs are for big areas with a lot of ores and no walls nearby. Since explosive ammo only detonates on contact with walls, mobs or rocks hiding ladders/holes, it's pretty useless in those bigger, wide-open caverns. Explosive ammo is great for quickly breaking rocks near walls, so great in corridors and narrower cave passages.
THEY HAD A FAMILY BONDING AT GINGER ISLAND?!?!?!!??!
WHAT.
(they just got home)
they're all looking forward to me going to egg hunt tomorrow
gang im actually curious
why arent my spouse/s not bringing our kids to festivals
its been 2 years since we had kids
fectors challenge my despised
im at stage 2 level 2
i think
and its my 5th reset
THE RNG IS SO BAD WTF
š
i cannot do it anymore
luck doesnt affect drops
according to CA
also yes please (i just do the 1 level per day thing since im doing deathless at the same time as finishing prairie king)
so i never touch prairie king again
junimo kart is tolerable
prairie king, im so bad at it
First - probably can get away with two levels if you feel safe at it.
I reset at the first shop if I didn't get 15 coins on the first two rooms - That damage upgrade is so useful
i do not feel safe with two levels tbh LMFAO
it took me a few resets with the first boss fight
Then, next two - Buy damage again if you got REALLY lucky, otherwise skip.
Third shop, hopefully you have enough for dmg 2, but you only have one level because of miniboss
After you get dmg 2, you just pick up Fire Rate 1, then Fire Rate 2 (or Movement Speed 1, depending on money RNG)
oh i should do the damage thing next shop then
Always keep a rapid fire of some kind as your reserve skill - Sheriff, Wheel, Machine Gun, or Shotgun
i only had speed and shotgun i think
Dmg 2 is the critical breakpoint
You want the first damage immediately at the first shop and it's easier to just sac the run and start over if you don't
The minibosses are the hardest part until you figure out the trick to baiting them - Stand about an inch to the left of your safe spot, wait for them to move out and start shooting, then go mid-far right of your safe spot - If you're lucky they'll pause in the open on the right and you hammer them
Fector himself is easy because he's so cheesable
Second zone is annoying because enemies are fast - don't use nukes unless you have to because it destroys drops, wheel in reserve is probably the safest option.
Third zone mummies are a non-issue mostly, since they like to body block - Imps are the only major threat, especially in 3-3
I can hear the voice
Why is 1.6 taking so long to release on mobile?!?
I think itās because of code differences between pc and mobile/console.
there's been issues of some sort in the porting process
still there's a release date
if you waited this long you can wait out the rest of the month
True
Think about it this way: the PC users were the testing ground so mobile and console will most likely get the bugfixes for the bugs PC users found right away
Did you beat the game already
Like with at least one death I mean?
Also even though I won Fectors' Challenge...I have another enemy...RNG
I still have not gotten the quest to go to dangerous mines
But yet I get 1 million skull cavern invasion nonsense
you do get radioactive ore from sc invasion so there's nothing you're missing out on
Oh no I need it for the achievement
I already got plenty of ore
I have the opposite problem, I keep getting the mines
And I just wanna do SC
[[Cave_Jelly#Strategy]]
@barren walrus it is mentioned on the wiki
it is?
theres a strategy guide? i didnt even see that
i refuse to die
so i decided to beat the game with no deaths on first try
ooof
so i never touch it ever again
I do recommend at least doing a level without dying successfully and then sleeping
so you can save your progress
i do this
Oh okay good
every morning i spend 30 mins going to the saloon to beat 1 level then do my farm chores
my spouses wonder why i run off for half an hour then teleport back to the farm
Name one random item for me to get without ever leaving the farm as a challenge! (It has to be possible tho)
i better get that cool cap before the patch drops on consoles or else i would have to pay more
Living hat
Iridium bar
That's a little better albeit still grindy
Ain't fun if it's easy
I'm just glad you didn't say prismatic shard
you wanted one item
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
Wouldn't be that much worse than iridium bar
Ik just that one is pure luck
It is far worse than iridium as you can't get shards from the farm mine
luck is a skill
Yeah you can. Iridium nodes
Same way you get iridium
just need to do the same thing more times
Weird for some reason I thought the farm iridium didn't drop shards
It should, I don't think the farm iridium nodes are any different from skull cavern iridium nodes
yeah they are the same
I guess that means diamond is rarer
Diamond is also more valuable in the challenge
It's crazy how fast my slimes breed during the challenge
Strange doll would have probably been just as bad
I like the book system in 1.6 but I feel thereās a little bit of untapped potential
For instance, Iām in fall year 2. For the entire year, the book seller is pointless since I bought all possible power books from her and the Artifact Appraisal Guide is only available in year 3
Now, I have the artifact book since I got it from an artifact trove. So, sheāll never be useful again
Man endgame is getting boring
I like all of the books and their effects are undoubtedly nice, but I feel there couldāve been more books with a bit greater effects
I love this game but like I got perfection
and all I am doing is waiting for the final 2 achievements
Yeah post perfection is pretty meh if you arenāt into organizing your farm and house and making them look pretty
Or a different way to get them
Well there are alternate ways for most existing books
I do like organizing
or trying to make as much money as you can
At this point, I might try to beautify my GI farm too
make it easier for me to traverse to Walnut Room
imagine how it was before 1.5
after cc there's ''nothing'' to do
Yeah lol
but at the same time there was a lot of things to do
you just had to make goals for yourself
That one was also my last until 1.6 came and added a bunch more, lol.
Lol were you able to get all achievements
Despite the 1.6 update adding more
Nice!
Hello FilthyGorilla
Hey fishmunk
Oh yeah I've seen the recent salmence video
is this channel going to dissipate after the update on nov 4?
probably, but there will be at least a month before it gets deleted
?
Salmence recently made a video on combat
Info is alright but last part of the video on highest damage can at least be improved
Should comment on it
I would've but a bit lenient
Had plans on doing a video on ||innates|| but eh there are a few videos out there already on it
I mean most have slight disinformation or just are outright missing something
If you try to be as objective as possible Iām sure itāll be new
Oh yeah just watched his video lol
Honestly most of his vids have some mistake, itās a reason I donāt watch sdv yt, I just end up making some crazy long comment correcting stuff then usually deleting it because it feels pointless
Yeah I just watch sdv videos just for fun and to see what they explain
Hmm should I comment? I have a feeling to do so lmao
Yeah why not
Fair I'll do it during my free time
I made a blue discus fish pond after planting my first banana sapling and got a banana from the pond before the banana tree got big. I remember someone was doubting it was reliable. I dropped multiple blue discus inside the pond at every growth time. It did not feel like a lot of work.
Sometimes you can be equally unlucky
And generally the the 3 bananas donāt make much of a difference to get less than around a month faster
Could be situationally useful if youāre maybe playing an older version and want to get 100 walnuts in 2 days or smt for minmax
You can be equally unlucky in not getting a banana sapling. Fishing a blue discus is reliable. More chances to get something should lead to more efficiency. You need 12 bananas, for the gorilla, the obelisk and the recipe. Cutting 30 + 12 days seems good.
the 'unluckiness' required to get no banana saplings is much higher though
there are many reliable sources for banana saplings
golden coconuts, the island field office, and even trading (though I'm pretty sure nobody uses the last one)
if you're not getting a banana sapling despite trying very hard, you are either incredibly unlucky or doing something wrong
fish ponds do help with getting bananas, yes, but they're not very reliable. if you want to get bananas asap then sure, go ahead
but personally, I wouldn't trouble myself with that and just get the obelisk a few days later
Shipping
So that's 13
I can get behind this for the banana shrine, if you're doing a challenge run that needs to unlock Walnut Room super early, Blue Discus pond can be a decent gambit. But trying to get the 13 needed for Perfection... you'd need a pretty ridiculous number of ponds, or getting really lucky.
Yeah, or predictor
13 remains a lot and even if I get 3 bananas from ponds, I feel it still helps. The thing is, what really slows down going perfection is the 10 Millions required for the golden clock. Maybe with a bigger keg empire than I have, the 10 Millions would be easier to grind.
honestly golden clock is one of the easiest parts of perfection
Eh, it's also one of the slowest
Like, if you're trying for Spring 3 Y2 Perfection, gold clock is going to actually be genuinely quite difficult
The only things slower are pure RNG (getting the right special orders in time) or just hard time gated (Kent friendship/recipes)
if you're going for spring 3 y2 perfection you are aware that's difficult
Yeah, but I think asking which parts of perfection pose the biggest issues for that is a good way to evaluate how hard they are
special orders are probably the biggest run killer if I had to guess
Friendship, Farmer Level, Museum, Fishing, etc. are all way easier
The obvious answer to get money is star fruit in kegs but how many would you need to be optimal ?
in 1.5 museum would be highly rng based but in 1.6 it's much easier
unless rng wanted to fuck you up
Especially since you have Winter
Which means you can get secret notes for the strange dolls
Much better solution than trying to dig for them in the mines
How do you get 10 friendship points with Kent by spring 3 Y2 ? Mass stardrop tea ? You would need a lot of them.
