Void chicken is good to make friends with Krobus(He loves void eggs). Other usage is to not care about the animal since the quality of its egg does not matter in any way - void mayo has no quality. Void chicken are chickens that are less profitable than others, but require less attention. They are ok, but cracker would be more profitable on a regular chicken.

the spawning rate of Golden Mystery Boxes is tied to game's daily luck as well and luck boosts from foods (lucky lunch and ginger ale are my to-go things). Go to Skull Cavern with monster musk, boost yourself with foods before you enter it, and you will get them in no time. Also as @trim plinth stated, Treasure Totem usage on Ginger Island helps a lot.

80-120 of the mines seems to be about the same amounts of exp

If the skulls give 15, you're significantly better off rolling the lava levels

Slimes give 10, a lot of enemies that swarm give 7-12

I planned on doing it, but I ended up synchronizing my water can refill with my visit to the chickens. Now I have basic sprinklers all over the place, so no need for a water can anymore. I think I will never like Meadowlands map anyway. Its uniqueness feels artificial. Going animals can never be better than processing crops in my books. I do not want to spend a quarter of day, each day fetching all the animal products to process them.

Only been through one, but it made trees sprout up like crazy, and take crazy, twisted forms. Everything was covered with moss, which you can collect a lot of. Apparently trees at almost every stage can shoot up to full growth overnight, so you can take advantage of it by planting a bunch the day before (when the weatherman freaks out on TV).
The next day everything is nearly back to normal. Most of the trees go back to normal, but you still get some of the green rain ones left behind. And a lot more of them have moss on them.
Also, I've been told the reaction of the townies is quite funny, as they are all freaking out. I missed it.

Mushrooms are far superior in the short term, but in the long term, they permanently occupy 6 tiles in the cave, which could otherwise be repurposed for other uses, and the fruit cave offers out-of-season access to a bunch of items that are otherwise unobtainable in the wrong season.

tbh i made a mistake about mushroom cave initially but grew to it after using more of the dehydrator

that thing makes me lots of money

maybe better if i get the recipe from pierre next time then fruit bat cave though

Bit late to the argument but I still feel mushroom is the superior choice unless you're trying to year 1 cc - where fruit cave can save a good chunk of cash. Mushrooms are just more valuable in the short term and the dehydrator gives you an immediate free processing machine with decent profits

It takes time to offset the cost of the recipe, and mid to late game you aren't using the cave except for maybe a decorative nook

The free fruit saplings in the prize machine have kind of stolen a good chunk of the fruitbat cave's job

One for summer, one for fall, both available in time if you hustle and don't get some kind of super anti-miracle RNG luck

Mushrooms gives you a free dehydrator. I loved those things so much for masses of blueberries and cranberries that I shelled out 10k for the recipe and made an even dozen. Which may have been a little overkill, as my greenhouse cranberries can't keep up production of 60 per day that all those dehydrators use. But almost 10K in dried cranberries per day isn't too bad.
Also great for blackberry season.

And once my 12 fruit trees from the greenhouse start producing.
