If you pair your tapped trees with shroom logs, at some point mushrooms will have iridium quality. This a good indicator they have produced quite some moss and you could swing your scythe in these trees from time to time

Enemy trinket drop rate is tied to their maxHP; tankier monsters have better drop rates, with a special penalty to Spiders since they swarm you (I believe there is no such penalty to Dust Sprites since they often run away from you)
I get quite a few trinkets from deep Dangerous SC delves. Sometimes they're in treasure rooms, too

i think ca only nerfed tea saplings this far in because green rain is the perfect setup for them. its literally the perfect money maker. LOTS of fiber, tree growth sped up, in the season where you only need 3 foreagables to make wild seeds

The other plausible reason is that spring crops aren't supposed to be that profitable
It's already better profit to craft them into Spring Seeds and then sell the seeds if you don't have Botanist, even without the tea sapling blueprint

Earlygame is supposed to be a struggle, the "wait, this is actually be harder than office drudgery" moment is part of the point

Most people didn't unlock them until past the point where the strategy made sense

But once it became well known and started to spread and affect "the meta", it got nerfed

Wait for the trees to start giving out silver-quality fruit (one year after fully grown)
Cut it down immediately at this point to receive a silver-quality sapling.

Replant this (possibly in another location), and it will regrow and gain quality twice as quickly. This will have it reach Iridium quality earlier than if you just let it grow normally

Since bananas are slightly more money, you could plant an extra two of them. Move the summer trees to the south wall, and then have the north be banana banana mango mango banana banana for symmetry.

I have a question regarding Qi Fruit and selling/reselling... I found online that if you sell Qi Fruit and Qi Beans to Pierre on the 28th of the month, you'd be able to repurchase (part of) the fruit and beans the next day. Since I only got 340 fruits this winter, I thought I'd use this trick to give myself more time to reach 500.

except... it didn't work? Pierre sells neither the fruit nor the beans!

so did they fix this workaround? Or have I done something wrong?

If the problem is having qi fruit for the next task, you could try yo grow the giant crop, the one that is 3x3 tiles and then you will have more seeds for the next time you accept the quest, at lest thats how I did it. 👌

I think ice rod is alright. The magic arrows thing tends to push back enemies when I want to kill them. I imagine you are powerful enough to kill anything you face though. I like the parrot one.

If you have too many for your keg/jar capacity, use dehydrator.

Fruits usually make the most money when processed in kegs. But if you already have enough starfruits or ancient fruits to process, it is a waste to spend your keg time with fruits that have a lower value. Do you want to wait for your keg empire to get bigger ?

You could also sell them. As is, they are sleeping money.
