Last we know, a patch for PC (1.6.9) has been in development for 2+ months now, and the porting team at Sickhead Games is likely waiting for that to be finished before they can adapt it and the rest of the update/patches to the port versions. Different code bases if I remember correctly. So it appears that's the current hold up. We haven't heard anything in almost two months so hopefully we'll at least see an informational update soon

Doesn't seem like anything has been submitted for cert, I believe in the past we have been told when that happened which gave us a rough idea of release time. If I recall correctly, cert usually takes 3 to 6 weeks, sometimes 4 to 8 weeks for Nintendo

Take all of this with a mighty grain of salt as I have no actual experience in gamedev or software related professions, I just have friends with those experiences and I've been following Eric's update processes as closely as possible for us

The long story short is that 1.6 also allowed you to re-harvest the tea sapling after planting (previously it just got destroyed). So you can plant saplings, get multiple tea leaf harvests out of it, then "uproot" the saplings and sell them at the end of the season. By doing so you net more g/day than just selling the saplings in 1.5.

I had something weird happen last night and wondered if anyone else has seen this (and wondered if it's a new continuation of the Capsule Event). After I returned from the Stardew Valley Fair, something appeared on my screen. It appeared similar to the shadowy figure seen after the Capsule event, but it was large and grew until it covered almost the entire screen and then flew off to the left of the screen. I think it was purple and kind of translucent. It happened fast, but not so fast that I wasn't sure what I saw. It seemed like a jump scare kind of scene. I do have a couple of mods, but they are basic ones, like the Lookup Anywhere and the NPC map location one.

Oh, I'm not disputing that! But I generally felt that in 1.5 the presence of tea saplings gave players access to an almost functionally unlimited budget even part-way through Spring Y1. IMHO early-game progression as it stood in 1.5 needed to be slowed down a tad, at least for the hyper-efficient strategies.

I don't know what the problem is but this is not the only game that I play that has recently been struggling with getting updates onto console at all, and I don't know what changed because with that other game they don't have a good record (It's craptopia if you're curious) however, as far as I can tell, this is the first time it's taken stardew Valley more than A month to go from the initial update being released on PC versus console, So what changed? I don't get it

He could probably hire people to learn his code base and solely work on his games, but he doesn't want to, and that's his decision to make. An unfortunate side effect of that decision is he has barely any support and when he and his team gets stuck with spaghetti bugs like what seems to have happened with 1.6.9, it just delays everything else and clogs up the entire pipeline

And unless you want to play Sony or Nintendo exclusives, anything you can get on console you can get on PC

I think a lot of the frustration comes from the back and forth inconsistency of Eric's pipeline. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's egregiously slow. We never know what we're in for, so currently we're stuck waiting for who knows how long, and the vagueness and silence make it feel like it may be much longer then we hope it will be
