They're on the forest farm which means they can get hardwood early.

While most people go fishing for the first week they went woodchopping. If you can find the ingredients you can start planting spring seeds on day 2. While they only give half the xp compared to 1.5 they still give some (and as they give farming xp one doesn't have to worry to much about crows eating parsnips unless one wants farming 1 on day 5). Being lucky with good amounts of spring onions also don't harm. I never tried it that fast but I got level 5 around salmonberry season once in 1.5.

That's interesting I'm not fond of foraging so I don't bother to try and grind the skill until it's the last skill I need for all level 10

It's sort of "tea sappling rush". Although they were nerfed in 1.6, 250 per sappling is still a good profit early on.

I try to get foraging 4 early on for salmonberry season and 6 for lightning rods before summer but after that I don't care too much about foraging too. 🤷‍♀️

Depends on the combo you're trying. It can be useful for deconstructor if you've a lot of left over sprinklers or so to deconstruct. It also works well with the bonemill or geode crusher. 🤷‍♀️

Trees "age" like they grow: with a random chance each day
Trees of sufficient "age" can spawn moss, also at a random chance each day. This chance is decreased on summer sunny days.
Green rain forces moss even if they do not meet the age requirement to grow it normally
A full-grown tree will have a higher chance to increment its age as well as to spawn moss each day, if there is a mutant (green rain style) tree that already moss on it, within a few tiles
Collecting moss will snap the tree's age down to a few stages below the moss requirement (to prevent a tree from regrowing it right away)

If you would rather have Radioactive Ore, then cram the Bar back into the Deconstructor to get it

I lost 1 ancient fruit on GI that way

Surprisingly none of my blueberries have fallen into the water on my farm despite being planted next to the little lake

I ended up planting fruit trees around the border of my farm on GI and my good crops are in the middle. I might lose the occasional banana but I won’t lose ancient fruits and pineapples.

This might sound odd but do you use 0, 1, or 2 magnet ring effects while harvesting?

I scythed Taro Roots on GI right up against the river just yesterday, and one magnet ring effect (iridium band) was enough to get them to not fall in

Yeah I only use the iridium band for harvesting and only lost 1 because I ran a bit away

I usually just have 1 and it’s enough to prevent most mishaps on GI, but on Riverland I still can’t use my iridium scythe without losing something

Probably because the range is bigger than my magnetism

I’m not sure I will ever choose riverland again. Even beach was better than this.

I find with 2 mag rings on I can harvest the trees in my greenhouse without needing to slow down. With 1 I have to stop periodically and wait for the fruit to catch up. I don't know if that's helpful

Indeed. For those, since I only have one magnet on, I pause the game after shaking each tree. Items can fall/magnetize to you, even while time is stopped during Pause.

Yeah, she doesn't forget anymore in 1.6, it's nice. Some other characters even react to the jellies too (Abigail squatting down to look closer, Clint trying to decide whether he should or shouldn't be inching closer to Emily, etc)

Hm? The dehydrator is excellent for the time the cave unlocks, and the prize machine has taken a significant part of the fruitbat cave's job (access to tree fruit for the CC)

The fruitbat cave kinda needs a buff to compete now

Shroom cave also gives more foraging EXP and I keep seeing people moaning about how hard it is to train Foraging now that wild seeds give 2EXP instead of 7
