Remember that fishing is a better source of money than farming in Spring. Spring crops fucking suck for money!

Farming in Spring is for the EXP (so you can build sprinklers and stuff in the summer where the better cash crops start showing up). So it's still worth doing, but it requires a lot of extra work to also make money doing other things

Pierre has the Dehydrator (made from Wood, Clay, Fire Quartz; this playthrough I used the CC Vault Bundle Crystalarium on Fire Quartz for a bit because of this). Y'know how Jars are weaker but faster than Kegs? The Dehydrator is weaker than Jars but incredibly fast: processes 5 items in one overnight. It's great for mass-item harvests like Blueberries, and you don't even need that many of them (five of them were enough to keep pace with 60ish Cranberry bushes for me)

You put a fish and a coal in, and the result is worth double the fish's previous value. But unlike most machines, this one keeps the fish's quality.

Most people recommend Farming first, but in my case it wouldn't have actually helped me (I'm in Winter so I don't have a lot of crops for the Iridium Scythe to help me with).
I went with Mining so that the Heavy Furnace would occasionally spit out an extra bar when I smelt stuff, and I'd just pulled in 200ish iridium ore.
(You'll never guess what I was doing to get the Mastery EXP!)

Terraria uses it as a general, high velocity mage weapon and a building tool for placing temporary blocks in mid air

Trying to over optimize the logs for trees will just end up getting you less overall. It's a bit of a balancing act to find the best setup where you have a lot of logs, and jsut enough trees to make them as good as possible.

If you've dinos and know when they're producing eggs you could try that. Otherwise regular chicken (assuming you'll turn the eggs into mayo in both cases). Rabbit foot isn't reliable enough.

I love the combo of napalm ring and fairy box. Makes surviving the harder caverns, as well as getting down quicker, an absolute breeze.
Though the fairy box also pretty much negates the issue of not eating food when doing the hungry challenge.
