Combat is such a pain to level up.

Fishing is free, farming is basically guaranteed by early fall at the absolute latest and you can manage early summer if you move fast, foraging is kind of annoying but SVE makes it way smoother... Then mining and combat are just. The absolute worst to grind out those last levels for.

Well the way I’m working it out is fish until level 10 (try and get a smoker with good RNG), then transition to the mines for regular sprinklers.

You need roughly 400 strawberry seeds. So 100 sprinklers, so 100 copper and iron bars before the egg festival. Gold shouldn’t be a problem. That’s farming 10.

Then transition to SC diving for mining and combat 10. Foraging would require some work along the way. Hard to pack it in.

Under normal circumstances, I like to use targeted bait for Catfish in the river on rainy days in the spring and fall; targeted bait for Sturgeons up the mountain on any day (but they stop biting at 7PM) in the summer and winter.

I've heard Volcano Lava Eeling can work well (as others mentioned), though I haven't looked at the catch rate and other requirements

In the seasons that have them, you could also try targeting Super Cucumbers

Lava Eels in the Caldera is definitely the highest with the right setup. You can get over a 50% Lava Eel rate with enough fishing buffs and targeted bait, then pair with a trap and quality bobber for easy catches

Probably not, Legends are so stupidly valuable. Base 5k vs base 700, and you can get a 20% Legend II rate with just curiosity lure, no targeted bait needed (and it has almost zero impact even if you did use it)

it also makes fishing do 3 item checks at a time with the targetted fish getting priority, legendary fish are always the top of the list anyway so that doesn't do anything either
