But floor 40-50 in the mines has more dust sprite than anything which drop coal pretty reliably, the quarry mines have loads of coal nodes, and the quarry itself reliably spawns coal

Biggest issue with animals is by the time you unlock crackers, you could already be WELL on your way with wines, and by the time you finally get enough crackers and friendship with animals, you could possibly have more than enough money.
There's also something to be said about having a daily chore that you can't get away from for an immediate dip to something like SC if you wanna maintain friendship.

But sheep with golden crackers and the barnmaster profession pop off. They just take a long time

farming is trivial in my case with starfruits, mining and combat comes naturally from SC dives, fishing you pretty much will get real quick if you fish often, foraging comes from desert fest rewards

Barn in spring isn't hard to get if you fish a lot early on, you can get iridium fish every catch by like spring 15th which can get you 5-10k gold daily depending on where you fish
