All the cooking calls for cave carrots, the quest about using carrots as animal treats calls for cave carrots, but for some reason your horse only eats regular carrots

The anvil just recycles the stats of a trinket, kinda like the Goblin Tinkerer in Terraria if you've played that game.
You could find a golden spur that speeds you up for 4 seconds after getting a critical hit, but then reforge it to try and get a better time of the speed boost.

Yes. There's three types of new trees that can be grown from them, two are decorational and the fiddlehead one can be tapped for fiddlehead ferns. You can tell from the look of the planted seed what it'll grow into and you can just hoe a seed and replant it until it becomes the one you want.

Also, if you are curious. Yes, there are some references in the other direction.
If your fishing setup is terrible in Terraria, there is a chance you can catch a Joja Cola as a junk item.
Take the cola to the Dryad, a friendly NPC, and they will "purify" it. This alerts the Junimos, who opens a portal and gives you a stardrop as a reward. The stardrop will summon a Junimo pet when equipped.
The travelling merchant may also sell a blue chicken egg, which summons one of Shane's blue chickens as a pet.

Easiest way is to look at your save file - it'll basically be farm name + numbers, and those numbers are your seed
