I checked Bla_De's video and it does seem to corroborate, with the added detail that the targeted fish also has 1.66× hook chance on top to make it even more likely

Basically the game will make up to three hook rolls per cast and if your targeted fish was any of them, you hook it.

...Once upon a time, a dude was theorycrafting a minmaxed first few days with crops rather than fish.
English was not his first language, but he was fluent enough that you wouldn't notice from reading what he wrote on Discord. He did, however, use "yeet" as his choice of word for what crows do to crops, as part of the theorycraft was calculating how many crops would be eaten-- or rather yeeted-- by crows before scarecrows become available.

I spelled out the mental image this gave me: crow perches next to crop, grips crop in beak, yanks it out of the ground with such colossal force that it flies into orbit.

Default speed is, what, 4 or 5? So both Way of Wind books together would bring you up by +0.5. That's +1/8th or +1/10th of your normal run speed

And walking is like 1 or 2
