i managed to decompile the code :D

There's a line which looks like it makes the catch reroll once or twice if the catch is not the targeted bait, meaning if the roll probability of a baited fish is 15%*1.6=23%, then the probability of actually getting that fish is 1-77%^3=65% given 3 attempts, which is more in line with my findings

And Day 13 is earliest you can get to walnut room

Midnight Squid in fish pond produces squid ink almost every day, and often produces 2. It doesn't stockpile though, so if you want to be able to make 20 seafoam pudding at once later, you need to harvest it regularly

1- i just started mastery, i dont have any of the stars yet. people keep saying that farming is the best one to get first but i dont really understand why. if its just for the iridium scythe then i dont really care about that, i dont have that many crops anyway. what's the second-best to go for?
2- should i still be reading the XP books i get or should i save them to trade them in now that i've started the path to mastery?

Not really as at 5 hearts pigs make about 3 truffles a day or close to 4 when accounting for botanist which is like 5500g a day

So golden chickens only beat them at all when the pig isn’t in optimal conditions

actually bombs are the solution to a lot of issues with no tools i believe one of the main reasons you need travelling cart at all is hardwood the only mahogany trees are on ginger island and you cant blow up stumps if it was possible to get a mahogany seed without breakking stumps pre ginger island then that would remove the need for travelling cart for that. Another one is i believe like 2 fish in the bundles are not sold by krobus gifted in the mail from an npc or found in trash cans so thats another thing needs travelling cart and the final one theres no way to harvest wheat without a scythe so you need to buy the 10 wheat from the travelling cart. but since all of those bottleneckks can be bought from the cart it doesnt prevent a no tools challenge @keen jetty
