my recommendation as someone who doesn't love combat is, make sure you can deal as much damage as possible, and secondarily a speedy weapon is useful too. you want to get the hostiles dead in short order instead of wachking away at them

Basically when a tree is associated with a mushroom, it adds more RNG weight to that shroom type. So surrounding a log with mystics will make purples more common

Dehydrators are 1.5× plus 5g on top, per item
That's weaker than the preserves jar (2.0× plus 50g on top)
The benefit is that it's easy to get Fire Quartz (stick it in a crystalarium) and they work much, much faster than Jars. Plus dehydrated stuff still gets the Artisan perk.

They're great for processing a zillion berries in a short time, and outside of that they're still useful as a stopgap or stepping stone until you have the materials to spam jars and kegs properly
