it's good for fruits like blueberries where you produce more than you can keg or preserve. The value decreases with the quality of fruits, for most fruits gold only nets you around +5 profits compared to selling 5 fruits. Iridium and you're losing money. Overall it's good to supplement kegs and preserves but unlikely to replace kegs entirely.

Aight, my findings: Any trees created in the event will disapear the next day, so chop them all down for seeds. You can tap the fiddlefern and it'll give you, get this, fiddleferns, but you cannot tap the other two kinds. However, fiddlefern trees don't grow moss. On the day of the event for some reason you can't hoe the seed and get it back, it'll destroy the seed. Afterward you will get it back like normal. The three different kinds of trees will actually appear different when you plant them as well!
