I found it wasted potential. Like, you remember when as a child you always thought about Disneyworld being that magical place? But as an adult you're too cynic for that? The only thing that could have brought back that feeling for millions of adults was a Mario movie.
And then they had Illumination make it. The jokes are cheap, the story much more forgettable than any of the Mario RPGs. Instead of Mario music they had the overused Holding Out for a Hero. And way too much slow-motion. And why 3D? Why not hand-crafted in the style of Paper Mario, but instead claymation? Papermation? If one company has money for that, it's Nintendo.

The hydraulics are some of the more frustrating things to adjust because you don’t have a UI to show where it goes when it moves or toggle it back and forth except by running the whole thing, unless I missed something
