When my last desktop broke when I moved, I was gonna try to replace the graphics card to see if that helped (the problem I was having was glitches on the screen - mostly white particles if I remember correctly), but the one I got from microcenter was a little too big for my case and I never bothered returning it. (I had a 3080 already and assumed since same model = similar enough size to fit, but apparently the different manufacturers have different sizes for them, who knew?)

It was probably the motherboard though

The only expansion card I'd want at this point is the ethernet one, and given the price and how it sticks out, I'd rather just use one of my existing USB-C ethernet adapters.

Yeah I grabbed the ethernet one along with the rest of the ones I'll use more permanently. When I read about this last week-ish my understanding was that they were specifically not sending C&D letters since they didn't have a legal leg to stand on. They wanted the letters to come across that way while avoiding the actual language of one.
