Game is displaying my real name and not my meta username

I’m pretty sure it’s intended, if not i have the same issue.
I don’t like showing everyone my name but at the same time it feels intentional since a name on a nametag would look more “professional” than “GamerFart46” or “UnicornStrand739” idk some people have crazy usernames

I thought the whole idea is it's a public-facing Username to protect your identity? Other games will not allow you to have offensive usernames to both protect identity and prevent abuse.

The game actually uses your meta username. That’s why it’s there. If that’s your meta username that’s gonna be your name in game.

I’m pretty sure to my knowledge it ignored displays names

It's definitely didn't display my meta username today. I'm 100% certain my meta username is not my real name.

It may be for you but it's not for me.

I play loads of vr games. This is the only one to display my real name

Just check where your real name is and change it

That’s not a game issue. The game just takes whatever name you have on meta and puts it in game

Just find where ever your name is and change it to something that’s not your real name

I just figured out a workaround. I still consider this a bug. My meta profile was synced with my Facebook a feature meta offer. This means you can't change your name (without changing your Facebook name, it came up with a warning when I tried). You can only change your meta username. I had to stop syncing my Facebook with my meta account then it would let me change my name to match my username.

There is nothing in the app that says 'display name' I can see. Just name or username

Unless I'm missing something for people who sync with Facebook and don't want it displaying their name per Facebook this is the only option

I see. Well that’s still not a deadly delivery issue. All the game does is match the username with your meta account. That was all meta being stupid.

It is as designed. Your meta name was your real name even if it was unintentional or not and so the game took your meta name and put it in game.

And your meta name happen to be your real name

Again, meta is stupid. Blame meta

OK I'll suggest that like every other game I play they should allow me to use a my username or a name I select
