and my other issue is, majority of the mods have dependencies of other mods as well on the list

so i honestly am not sure how or where i even start with this

disable mods one by one (including dependencies) and see at which point the crash is not happening

if mutiple mods are disabled and you dont experience a crash, then the culprit is one (or sometimes multiple) of them

Yes, look into mods like PEAKer and PeakUnlimited. There is a tutorial in the pinned messages that shows you how to install r2modman, which is a mod manager that makes installing mods easier

I experienced an issue hosting it today where it seemed to false flag two separate players for spawning an item who definitely didn't, and desynced them/broke the lobby completely. same with the old anticheat causing campfires not to spawn, but ppl didnt know it was the mod cos they didnt know the host had anticheat

as a rule of thumb, i assume every single mod is broken when a major update comes out

(e.g. the last big update we had was the one that added custom runs)

and only add them back to my mod list once ive seen it confirmed to have no issues, or it gets updated

and even then i wouldnt use them in van lfg just in case

not always though i'll note, sometimes mods do some weird, unknowable stuff. i used to use devilmayclimb before the roots update (a style meter mod) and after the update dropped it not only stopped working but inexplicably made items cook every frame after the bar fills instead of just resetting, and it took me a bit to figure it out 🙏

Client Side would mean that it affects only one client (the one with the mod)

Like the other person said, use perspective switcher, because it is 2nd and 3rd person combined. when i used the 3rd person by itself, and the 2nd person by itself, i ran into some issues where they would prevent me from being able to aggro climb. not sure why but i think perspective switcher is safe

Hey anyone here able to help me with some modding issues?

Issue is mainly that mods do load but don't work

Tried to manually install them, install them via a mod manager and stuff still isn't working

1. delete all manual attempts, sometimes having leftover bepinex folders from manually modding can mess you up.

2. make sure you've set all your folders to the correct place within your mod manager settings (see image)

3. Due to big game updates last month, a lot of mods are outdated and simply dont work.

4. Mods usually arent supported on pirated copies of peak

if you've done all of the above, then maybe post what mods youre having issues with

I basiccaly want to know what is Ascent in PEAK

a difficulty based?

i even also want to try out the mod i installed and launched PEAK via ThunderStore

ascents are difficulty modifiers, its still the same daily map but with added difficulties.

you unlock ascent 1 after completing peak difficulty and so on
they add stuff to the game like extra hunger, takes more stamina to climb, not having flares at the end so having to bring your own from the start etc ect
each ascent also includes the difficulty modifiers of the previous ones

you can still join others that are a higher ascent than you, but just be aware it will be more challenging

Also, is adding mods to games different across games, or is it basically the same thing? Like, do A,B, and C on Peak, but for a different game you'd have to go through X,Y, and Z (if that makes sense).

they should work if youve done everything properly

1. youre game copy cant be pirated

2. you've gone into your mod profile settings> locations> and made sure everything is mapped to the right game file and mod storage path
