Popping into chat just to say I had an awesome mod idea. Instead of having the regular zombie spawn, what if there was a mod that picks random cosmetics and made a new zombie each time it spawned, so it feels more unique and natural every time!

Oh I’ve played with the mimic mod before, that’s actually what gave me the idea! I think the problem with my idea is that it assumes that the zombie have some come of cosmetic data that can be manipulated in some way (given you could hypothetically play as a zombie pre-bite)

There are some challenge mods and there are extra ascents mod. Or those that take certain abilities away. You can also make rules to yourself. Or reset the achievements and try to make sure you must get certain achievements as part of your game (certain items banned, not too hot/cold/...)

mods are not bannable, there is no in game moderation or "anticheat".
however, that does not stop someone from kicking you from the game if they dont want you using a mod. you cannot rejoin a lobby once you are kicked
and you arent allowed to join vanilla games with mods, or joining modded lobbies with mods that the hosts dont want you using

There are mods to ban people from joining next sessions, such as PEAKER. There is also an anticheat mod, but a campfire change broke it ... I'll fix it in the coming days. Quality of life mods are usually fine. Just don't do anything game changing; if it affects others in any way or makes you have a clear advantage ... don't do it.

Hosts with magic rezzing powers. Clients with all-seeing eyes that know where you are. The occasional cheat mod user that surprisingly doesn't use it but suggests they could do something when there's been a game bug. Stuff like that I see multiple times a week...

Even then, modded errors should not be treated as a bug when it is explicitely a Vanilla lobby. The problem is that if a host is using client-side mods without the knowledge of other players, it is solely a mod issue.
These things being mixed in with base-game bug reports mixes the pot and leaves more confusion for development and repairs.

having numbers in the late teens and higher causes connection issues/lower fps etc etc

20 is generally the cutoff point before the servers start dc'ing etc

thats why theres nothing for higher than that. the server just wouldnt be stable enough

Probably a setting. Looked on YouTube a bit I see some have the pink, some have the sand color and some don't have it. It also is different when you are closer or it is just starting. I'm usually nearby on lower resolution/settings and haven't seen them from far so it's probably something along those lines. Pretty weird to play the game a lot and then be like "wait, what's that pink fog?!" 😅

fog is part of tornado vfx. because of the night/twighlight shader, the vfx is colored pink

same thing happens with jellyfish on the shore, water as well as a capybara pool

You would at least need PEAKER and MyBananDontHurtMe to fix the ragdolls flying around and improve the performance. But then still for example Mesa can still drag the game down. And the chance to get someone disruptive in the lobby increases as well, needing mods to ban/detect them. Yeah, #🔨peak-lfg-modded tends to be quiet at times. You can aim for a little bit extra players during the quiet moments of the day. Usually the 20 player lobbies fill only during the busier moments of the day. Currently US is still sleeping and Europe has just woken up. Things tend to be much busier like hours from now

Actually, I think it's due to Peaker's anticheat or moreScouts mod being included inside it. It comes from it's patcher file. I've removed PeakAntiCheatReborn and still had the issue.

For me it sufficed to patch PeakAntiCheatReborn. I've been playing fine since patching it when the campfire change was released. It fixes the issue where only the team can light the campfire and you get stuck in the previous biome. I've seen another unrelated issue where the Kiln campfire wasn't there and required everyone to rejoin, but that's unrelated and doesn't happen often...

There's also GlobalEvents.TriggerCharacterPassedOut that might be useful to hook into.

And if needed, you might want Character.Revive and Character.ReviveAtPosition too.
There are even more methods and events for when someone is dead, or on reconnects and so on.

so the servers used are only designed for 4 ppl, so connection issues can be a problem. but realistically that only happens when youre in the high teens/close to 20 people. Same with fps drops etc, only rly a problem when playing with close to 20 if youre on a slower pc.

nothing gamebreaking, i mean theres the same amount of luggages so it means theres less luggage per person... but realistically you wouldnt pick up all items anyway/run out of storage to carry it all when playing with 4. So playing with 6 isnt a big deal in that regard

there are lots of dependencies you need for speaker.

you can use r2modman to download the mod (no need for manual install)

once you have the mod and the dependencies downloaded - you launch the game once.
then you find where your mods are stored (THIS IS NOT IN THE PEAK FOLDER)
there will be a folder in plugins called onlystar speaker music

you put your music in there

when you download speaker through r2modman, it will install all of the dependencies automatically. it will look like this

1. They force light the campfire few times before the kiln
2. Other players who have no mod are just okay, but no campfire near the kiln, their entrance blocked. Proceeding to restart the game, will make them stuck on loading screen

As for the airport, the only thing I can think of is the Quickrestart mod that can make you go back to the airport
