Just found out that the default graphics backend is now DX11 so the current Doorstop included in BepInEx Pack no longer works. Therefore, -dx12 no longer works to force your game to use DX12 and will always use DX11 when launched through a mod manager.

I am currently looking into it and working on an update for Unity Doorstop for PEAK. I will contact 753 once the doorstop update is ready. I will also be making it so that all graphics backend is supported not just Vulkan (just in case they change the default launch option in the future)

I looked into it and it seems like the engine now takes whatever the last backend parameter is. So if we have -force-d3d11 -force-d3d12 -force-vulkan it will use Vulkan. Originally (when we just had dx12 and Vulkan) people tried adding -force-d3d12 which results into something like this -force-vulkan -force-d3d12, and it did not work. With that being said, I think the Doorstop fork for PEAK is no longer needed and an update to the pack is not necessary. In the future, for whatever reason, it defaults to the first launch param, I'll update Doorstop for PEAK.

Roots currently has a major desync problem. Every time it desync, the voice chat will break.
I believe it breaks in every modded lobby I have played. And there is nothing you can do about it.

if selected option is vulkan - no overrides are possible
if selected option is dx11 or dx12 - overrides work fine

so as long as they lunch through steam with this in mind, it will work without any mods

if mods are adding things to the game that arent already in the code, then everyone will need the mod to see it

you can tell who in the party needs the mods by the tags on the thunderstore website:

Host Only means that only the host needs to have the mod for effects of the mod to be visible for entire lobby

Client Side would mean that it affects only one client (the one with the mod)

All Clients requires that everyone in the lobby has the mod for it to function and display properly

no, the custom cosmetics mods are putting new items into the game, the item and code does not exist in the normal game. The way to make it all clients, is by making all clients have that cosmetic (aka by downloading the mod)

yeah ik someone sent an email to the devs asking for this sort of thing, due to them having a different type of colourblindness that the mode currently cators for,
to the best of my knowledge there isnt a current mod for it

Hey, is there any news of mods affecting the healthbar/status when they aren't intented do? For some reason I'm only affected by stamina but not any form of damage/ailments/etc, and I can't bounce on the mushrooms in Root, but I mostly have cosmetic modsand a few gimmicks like Foothold installed...

yeah a lot of mods broke after the roots update and caused this sort of thing - to start with id disable any that havent been updated since the roots update on 5/11

if its fixed after this, id add them back one by one to see what was causing it

mod managers default to the standard game settings which is dx11, im guessing your friends pc has gpu below min graphics and so can only load textures on vulkan, not dx.

ive heard that hdpeak can cause issues if not set up yet however.....

missing textures/headless players is usually caused because your GPU doesnt meet minimum requirements.
Most ppl fix this on steam by setting their launch mode to vulkan, but mod managers default to dx11.

On your mod profile go to settings>debugging>launch parameters and type -force-vulkan
