Hey all! Trying to play yesterday’s seed so I installed the mod for seed picker - when I looked up what seed was yesterday’s, it says LevelIndex = 135, but when I put that in as the level, when I click on the Kiosk to start the game, it just closes out of the menu. Anyone know how to help?

@meager rivet I saw some players lagging a bunch with Soulmates in my games. I pushed an update that might help with that and stop the mod from spamming messages for every 0.0001 of hunger every tick. I wonder if anyone complained in your games

if the manual install is done correcrly, the only thing i can think of is that your mod manager defaults to vulkan

so try launching peak through steam in vulkan

if youre using a mod manager (Which i'd highly reccomend if youre new to modding), it saves the mods in a seperate area of your pc

so you can just delete the mods without issues on your main game :) - and you can verify files of your main game if anything did happen to cause issues.

thunderstore is the website the mods are on...

but there are also mod managers you can use that sort out the files for you, rather than having to manually download the mods and then drag the files to the right place. Thunderstore has its own mod manager you can download.

Theres also a different modmanager called r2modman that acts almost identical to thunderstore's mod manager, but without adverts. https://thunderstore.io/c/peak/p/ebkr/r2modman/ The mods you download would still be from thunderstore's website

my friends pointed out they they have no issue loading the game with the thunderstore mod client but I keep crashing 75% of attempts when loading the game

ima try the other launch option (vulcan doesnt work) but I assume if I un-install and re-install that might fix it too?

I do have thunderstore on my C:/ drive and my steam library on External D:/ SSD ....... but Im not sure if that would cause the problem; REPO is set up the same way with C:/thunderstore and D:/steamlibrary and works fine with the same group.......

if anyone has additional insight on what/how to troubleshoot this, lemme know. I gotta also figure out how to change the launch option as im no longer prompted for it......

but if you use dx12, then you have to change the launch option in thunderstore mod manager

ya piggy back is handy you can even edit your config file for the time it takes to pick someone up i would say 2 seconds. Cause if you set it to 0 you can accidentally kidnap one of your friends

when you die in game your body doesnt despawn

a skeleton model is spawned where you "died"

then your real body is tped into the air colliding with all the other dead players

think it also disables collision checks on ghosts too

you can be falling down at mach jesus and if you grab a wall you take 0 fall damage

in the early days of peak if you took a vine too fast you would take 100% fall damage but one of the udpates i guess broke that

is there a way to lock modded launch from thunderstore to the launch options? Vulcan always crashes for me on vanilla, so i set it to DirectX12. I wanted to have the option to switch, so I set it to ask everytime when launching but the modded version doesnt prompt me how I want it to launch with..... I'm thinking that must be the issue, as I dont have this crashing issue with any other game.

i'll be checking and updating peak unlimited (if necessary) as soon as I see the update has released, but usually the mod doesn't break so hopefully it shouldn't require anything crazy. when the update comes out, the easiest way to tell if its working is to create a lobby with the mod installed and then check the steam friends list, if it says "1/20" then the raised player count at the very least is working (other features may need work).
