if so, it's one of those mods.
cut in half again and repeat.
or just look at the bepinex logs, they might give you an idae of what the problem is.

good morning, I installed mods manually in the game folder via BepInEx, but when I launch the game, why doesn't it initialize (no cache folder is created, etc., there are no errors when launching the game), everything works correctly for a friend

installed via your link, peak appeared in the list, installed mods, specified the path to steam, click on "start modded" the game starts but nothing changes (the game starts without mods)

when you click "start modded" this message appears, then steam opens, then the game itself starts, but there are no changes in the game itself

and how are you confirming its not loaded modded? those mods seem to work only once you go into the map itself

check Config Editor, if configs are present then the game has definitely loaded modded

you can further confirm this by going to config editor, go on the bepinex config, and enabling the gui console

put that in the steam launch options

unfortunately this did not help, the main problem is that BepInEx itself does not initialize, with normal behavior, when the game is first launched, it annoys the files it needs, cache, etc., this does not happen to me

I tried to transfer the initialized mod files and BepInEx itself and this did not help either

I also tried to run it through different engines (vulcan dx), this also did not change anything

yeah at this point something is blocking bepinex entirely, do check windows defender anyway because it can be quiet when it does stupid stuff like block files
otherwise i'd suggest joining the bepinex discord (its on the mod page afaik) and asking there

I just checked and apparently you Have to bootup from the mod manager to load mods
which I think is awesome because if I'm interpreting right then I can just click the desktop to play vanilla
so I can have both

Also I have the folder for the manager on my desktop now as "PEAK... 2"

how does playing work for vanilla players when the host for the game plays with mods on? :o specifically for things that don’t add new assets to the game, so non-cosmetic/utility ones like item spawner or eagle eye, for example. like, if i spawn an item and drop it on the ground while playing with a vanilla player, will it appear for them, or no, because they aren’t using any mods?

it entirely depends on the mod. some mods work fine host only, some require all players
pretty sure item spawning ones work for all players even if the host only has it. usually mods are tagged on thunderstore if they are host only, client only, or required by all

I'm on the mod manager, everything else seems to work but this in particular just doesn't function

2. run the setup executable in the downloaded zip
3. once installed, run r2modman (it installs as an app on your pc)
4. search PEAK
5. make a profile or use the default one
6. once on a profile, on the left there is Online, click that to search and find mods from thunderstore
7. once you've installed mods you want, press Launch Modded button
8. success

if you have game crashes when launching modded, do the following:

1. on your mod profile on r2modman, press settings
2. search for "launch parameters" and edit that setting
3. put -dx12 in the box
4. launch modded

I want people to know what I'm doing with custom biome names because I find it funny

So the third area of the game has four titles in my setup

WASTES, BARREN, TOMB HERE and MOUNTAIN

Now, you probably noticed this, but those things all apply to both Mesa AND Alpine

The only actually identifying titles are "CAVE STORY 2" for alpine and "SAND FUCK" for mesa

The actual names of Mesa and Alpine are in there

But they're swapped around, so it says mesa when it reveals alpine and vice versa

I saw people lying about whether it was mesa or alpine and decided to turn this into the whole bit here. That is all

every Level_x has both maps baked in, im not sure what logic they use internally to select the biome to load.
All I know is they take the index and mod12 it to get the day's Level_x

nope, so originally you couldnt launch in other launch options in mod managers... but then they built a feature into the -dx12 command to override it. cos dx11 was added later it doesnt have this built in command so you have to add it seperately

I don't use it NGL it did cause desync issues. Might work now (it updated since I used). MorePeak can give you different seeds for each map per game.
