I am having the same exact problem, I only crash if I tab out of my modded launch

I think just picking up items causes them to be flagged as cloning?

Its setup to delay and check again if they get flagged, to verify if they have the item in their inventory.

Only thing I could think of is maybe they happen to pick up and item and drop it again within that short timeframe? Unsure. Can you send me the log, the next time it happens.

For now just set it to warn, its mostly to catch lobby crashers, so youll be able to tell if its a cheater, because itll spam you.

@cunning flame This is because mod launchers run as Vulkan and not DX12. This is an issue with how the game is setup, not thunderstore or r2modmans fault.

You can fix this by doing any of these:

By default, mod launchers launch using Vulkan instead of DX12. Most mods are not very compatible with vulkan, so it results in crashes. I did contact the devs about potentionally fixing this, but nothings happened yet. Follow below to change that.

How to run the game with DirectX12:

1) Unity Player Patcher:
This tool stops the game from utilizing Vulkan by directly changing the game files while this is reversible it requires you to run the tool every update and might break with game updates. UnityPlayerPatcher

(2) Steam Launch Swapper (unreliable):
This tool makes DX12 the default graphics api, this is unreliable because steam frequently updates appinfo.vdf and reverts the changes made by this tool so you would have to run it frequently and this only works on windows. PEAKLaunchSwapper

3) Installing BepInEx Manually (harder):
You can install BepInEx manually and set the steam to launch with DX12, this will make installing and managing mods harder as you cant use a mod manager. BepInEx Docs

my "fix" is to have peak the only maximized windowed application, everything else is just boxes and not maximized, I'll tolerate it for now

Took a shot at fixing the SnowStorm wind and making it more accurate (raycasts a line between the player and the wind direction to see if you're behind an object). So now you should be able to hide properly behind walls/trees/rocks/objects.

Did my best to not have the raycast affect FPS at all, but let me know if you experience otherwise. (only triggers raycast during wind)

Speedrunning counts not. Hard for speedrunning means that the optimal route has few luggages and few fallbacks if the loot was bad. That is very different from being hard for a usual player without a set route. Edit: baaaaad take

But they look at the maps nonetheless. If you don't wanna check them out yourself, the place that people have 100%checked is in that server, and from being skilled players I'm pretty sure they can differenciate hard overall and bad for speed

i figured it out

cooking an item in your inventory applies to the previous item it seems

so cooking an item in slot 2 will also cook the item in slot 1, though invisibly

a red crispberry heals 5% hunger, 10% hunger, and 5% hunger at uncooked, cooked, well-done , and burnt respectively
cooking it twice, to well-done, results in 10% hunger reduction
cooking it twice, then cooking another one in your inventory once results in the first one only giving a 5% hunger reduction

so it seems like the well-done apple is being treated as a burnt one

okay so i was wrong. doing it with coconut halves leads to them restoring 10% hunger, but a burnt coconut gives 15%... so idk anymore

cooking a food item to well-done then putting it back into your pocket and pulling out again reverts its stats back to its non-cooked counter part

It is, but I have set some rules for myself to use it
If somoneone dies, I'll piggyback them until they have at least 20% stamina (if somethign like poison or fire) cuz simply standing still waiting for it I think is bs
Or, I just tell them to take enough fall damage/poision so I can call them all the way (If I don't have piggyback)

I also use piggyback for afk players, besides that, I don't like using it

also useful to get out of bounds

but piggyback is DEFF broken specially if you simply give the person a backpack and all of your items

Has anyone looked into how the devs joining as bingbong works in the source code yet or is that just me?, so far I've found 2 parts of how I think it works but haven't connected the dots yet, firstly connecting in the PlayerConnectionLog class excludes displaying the name "Bing Bong" from the alerts and secondly it seems players can opt out of spawning in with a "NoCharacter" tag in their CurrentPlayer task (whichi s enumerated over when spawning players)
