General play was to stay as close to the outside of the "front" of the Mesa as possible to avoid getting dead ended in some cave

And then waiting for night or finding sunscreen for the exposed sections

ascent 5 is cold nights right?

well, honestly how i did it

i treated the cold night as a 3rd timer

fog timer, hunger timer, and now the cold timer

only used the lantern when absolutely necessary, use cure all, fairy lantern, scorchberries, and port-stoves to counter the cold nights
try to time reaching the campfire when it's night time so you can use the camfire for warmth

and also, just get lucky with items that remove cold lol

Adding to this, if you're in the Mesa and the sun is getting close to setting you can stack heat from it before night hits. This will give you a little bit more time before the cold sets in

kay so I'm trying to get the badge where you shoot "across the mesa". I believe you have to shoot across the canyon to get the achievement. Problem is that I found the cannon at the TOP of the mesa, at the campfire luggage. Here's the question:

• can you do it from the TOP of the mesa if you use a backpack glitch, balloons, or something?
• do you have to live through the landing?

Man, i managed to play the map with a friend before the patch got dropped. Managed to get the golden bingbong through caldera but died, decided to hop off since it was 1 am and saw the patch is live the map is changed. If you mean the antlion, you can place a piton before jumping into the hole

you have to spam kinda the right side once you have done the initial clip, then once you keep spaming and moving more foward you should be able to stand and then come back to jump into the next section entrance

You could try to stack energy drink and lolipops

If you low and stamina and only have energy drink you could bring some piton

It could help alot

Can anyone explain why the death timer drains so quickly sometimes? I
t happened to me at the mesa but had it drained normally it would have given my buddy plenty of time to remove thorns. Glitch or is it suppose to be that way?

The more times you go unconscious, the faster the timer drains. At least that's what I've heard

made it into the tomb after half clipping through with backpack spam, spending ages trying to backpack spam from there, then put a shelf fungus under my feet and spent another while backpack spamming until i finally got through

Yeah it's partially blocked off, you need to do the clip to access it

the clip is not the easiest with only backpack

but I managed to do it with chain launcher inside the rock with backpack clip and a piton close to the chain

spamming backpack + E on piton/chain as fast as u can with ur fps capped at 30

eventually u grab the chain and are able to go forward and ur body glitch into the rock

not the easiest but definitly possible today

yeah just did it with a piton and backpack, spam really hard for like a minute at the top of the rock
