Yeah, it usually is closed bc it is supposed to open after you’ve entered the normal way(which isn’t possible for today’s map) the entrance also gives you a “tomb” biome screen like when you enter any area like tropics or mesa. And then it forces you to go through a challenge room with a pit as well as a maze

I dont think the scouts left Myers behind on purpose.

Its stated in Myers letters he ate a nap shroom and passed out, and when he woke up the kids he was leading supposedly abandoned him but I dont think thats true. If they genuinely thought he was dead, they could have brought him back to life with one of the statues by the campfire. They already brought back one of their own when they died to an urchin so assuming Myers had no chance of being revived makes no semce. There's a possibility that the scouts didn't like him or that he was a bad scoutmaster but that doesn't seem like the case. He was the one who found out about the islands magical ability to bring back the dead so to sone extent he cares about these kids, and if he was a bad scout master i doubt he'd go through with naking a scout journal, making additional notes when they wrre straded, AND spending who knows how long punishing scouts who abandon their friends. I think the scouts did thunk Myers was really dead, but they tried to bring him back via the statues. Assuming no one died between the tropics campfire or the one at thr top of the alpines/Mesa, they could have gone to either statue to try and revive him but all died in the way without Myers to guide them and keep them safe. Their bodies were either burried or fell into a weird crevasse or something and when Myers woke up he couldn't find them and assumed hes been abandoned.

okie so, there will be a biiig mountain pillar at the very beginning of mesa, with a little crack inside it. jump in, you'll see the endless void and some stairs leading down. run and jump to the stairs and go down. you'll find golden boy there. abd then just go back the way you came from!

I found the tomb, entrance is weird though. There's a large rock formation on the start left go under it and you can see under the map then shoot a chain launcher into the shaft you see nearby and walk backwards through the tomb to the start to trigger the entrance cause idk how to find the actual way in it's janky @unique axle
