So I did a little more digging on my whole 'PEAK is inspired by the Aztecs' theory and discovered something interesting that adds a lot more weight to the theory; This time the parallel is the campfires and different level aesthetics.

The Aztecs had what was called the 'Prophecy of 5 Suns', 5 different eras where each was ruled by different sun gods. By the end of the 5th Era, the world would end from unending earthquakes. In order the keep the 5th Era from ending, the Aztecs used human sacrifice to keep their world alive; Most of the time, the Aztecs performed their sacrifices atop their temples called Teocalli or 'God Houses'. If you look it up, a Teocalli is almost the same kind of structure on one side.

On top of that, we get an achievement for throwing ourselves into the volcano in a multiplayer and at least one player survives.

this is a third of the stuff I dug up, but I may have cracked the mystery behind PEAK

@ebon phoenix I got through the Alpine was a center cave path, tho I used a rope gun or anti-rope to help get to the entrance of the route(but might be a better way up that I didn't check for). even a energy drink or loli would probably be enough to reach the spot I started. the rest was able to do itemless pretty easy, with maybe one spot that needed some bonus stamina

Iirc a random scroll has a chance to spawn at a campfire each day, and theres at least one each day. Which campfire it spawns at is persistent but which scroll spawns isnt. And there can be scrolls at multiple campfires each day

I think that night cold does exactly 100 cold "damage". So, in my limited testing, if you can mitigate any heat and clear the rest of your bar, you're okay.

I've also timed lighting the fire for night and then filling my bar with fire from standing on the campfire and setting out.

All the modifiers but the biggest ones are that you get cold at night and climbing takes what seems to be 33% more stamina.

This means climbing is harder and if you don't frequently get heat items you'll probably perish.

Statues can basically make or break some climbs depending on what you get. In SP they're like a guaranteed good item at least. I usually never skip out on it unless it's like an AR-C.

The normal spool is fine but the other one basically limits the use for no discernable benefit.

Honestly I'd even prefer a SM Bugle just because full bonus stamina is really good if you know where to go so bro can't catch up.

I would put the anticannon at the bottom of my wants for solo though. Just doesn't have nearly as many applications because it's actually more meant for helping friends that might be further away.

Weird how the rope and cannon flip between use cases when you reverse their gravity.
Spool is normally for helping others, but anti is more meant for helping yourself (though others can use it).
Cannon is more meant for helping yourself go up while the opposite is a mix of both.

Yeah from the looks of it you need to approach the mountain base then climb up until you find a way to get onto one of the two big trees.
It is not ideal.

I think you're basically mandatory having to use at least a few items to help yourself up here.

From the statue, though, I think the spool tends to do better considering you have more rope to work with.
The regular cannon tends to be used for when you're seeing a ledge that you can't climb up at all because of a gap you can't grasp. Anti-cannon tends to not help in that situation.

You can shoot the ground, but like I said, spool would be better.

that is viable but you can also put a rope right above you before climbing to use as a mini piton

or really to use as a better version of jump boost
