left ish, theres some platforms you can go up from the middle-leftish that lead far left with helpful thin vines, then once you get high up on the far left turn around and continue towards the center

At the beginning climb up that tall right area with 3 suitcases, then afterwards, jump from high onto a vine that will ferry you to the tall area over on the left. You can then climb up until you see a beehive and use the lone small tree near the edge of the wall to climb up. Then head along the left side and climb until you either reach the lower vine that goes to the leaves of the giant tree (you will need bonus stamina to make the climb) or go higher and jump down onto the higher vine to get across with no stamina cost (it is harder with the poison all over)

Continue along the tall trees and take the vine on the far right to ferry yourself to the area with a tree acting as a platform gap to the other side (you can use either a magic bean to make a bridge to that right side or use any anti-rope to skip upwards).
The rest of the climb is very straightforward.

Nah I just did it on 7 because it means that even on the highest difficulty you can follow along. The path supplies so many items you're practically guaranteed to find a way up.

There is one cluster of poison gas sacs you need to throw something at if you wanna avoid a nasty dose, though.

You can spot me throwing my lantern at it after it runs out of juice.

Lanters, Fey Lanterns, Heat Packs (Stuff you find in suitcases)
Scorch Berries (pepper-like berries that grow on bushes)

You can also use grills and campfires to deal with the cold.

Burning yourself with geysers or other items is also an option since it's basically a cold shield.

Like watching my full bonus turn to like 20% in the blink of an eye is very frustrating.

Just cause my guy decides to summit over and over on the same ledge.

The route I took only uses a good bit of bonus, and honestly near the top you can go around the left or right side so you don't gotta climb that tree at the end.

Basically if you're like me and make sure you cook every piece of food and consumable you got you'll have plenty for the climb, especially with the like 20 cases you find along the way.

And that beehive if you get into an emergency situation.

Alpine, Caldera, and Kiln are all pretty trivial in comparison, so just spend for this area.

Honestly at some point I should try doing "climb route" videos that go through all the areas really quickly with biome music in the background. It is pretty funny to just suddenly transition from each.

You just need to trust vines tbh, Idk if it's intentional but you can slide upwards on vines and if you just get a bunch of speed before hopping on one itll bring you like all the way up

Found like 2 massive skips just using them

If you are used to climbing vines in multiplayer vines are much more consistent and safer in single player, cause I think you actually climb vines slower based on your ping

Anybody having issues with rendering since the last update? For some reason the purple shading in jungle and snow makes it impossible to determine where ledges are.

I'm finding myself really pissed sliding off what clearly looks like flat ground with an angled ledge

It also removes the shading which allows you to see stuff. Not sure if it's my monitor/computer settings. But kind of annoying there's no in game setting to tweak this

its always been bad in alpine tbh since theres no clear indicator for standable ground that u can see unless ur viewing it from above (and even then its literally a 1mm line seperating standable and climbable section)

had a person kill my run cuz they were in finland, (lag matters a lot), took a chain launcher up, used it, (only 1 person did) killed everyone, crashed the game, lost run.

I've found that doing multiplayer is good practice for solo. Having a friend there to help you with boosts and item carrying is great for figuring out what works and what doesn't. Def helps build confidence too.

Really? I found that I was taking much bigger risks when I was playing with a friend. Maybe my friend was just accident prone but I also learned a lot by watching them make a bunch of mistakes and dying

Ok so the maps now seem to generate tunnels

first try went up the middle, then subsequently tried left and middle again via a vine from the first raised bit with suitcases

yah saw some tunnels in that first raised bit, haven't found any later on tho

There's one main tunnel from ground level on the right side... It's pretty easy to traverse

Also near the tunnel entrance just before the waterfall there are also some vines that you can use to climb to that first major shelf too

previous attempts made it reliably to about 600 meters before getting stuck / the fog caught us. Felt near the end each time
