it's really hard to remove them in solo, but possible. you can try while climbing, some people say spin fast, idk, it's annoying :(

fun fact, if a chain in caldera gets mostly submerged by lava, it is close enough to the ground that jumping and grabbing the chain will not keep you from hitting the ground. I learned this the hard way when going for a fall dmg free run (which I succeeded next attempt)
