i think how likely it is to get mycologist changes each day bc their placement randomizes, it might even be run to run

pretty sure most mushroom spots are static spawns day to day

but in those spots the mushrooms can be good or poisoned and then also can get medical roots insteada of a mushroom

so for the badge you should just go around finding every spot that you can and then just keep resetting the run once you peak tropics since no more mushrooms spawan

I think the way mushrooms work in this game is that "mushroom patches" are designated when the map is generated and are always in static positions. However, each time you load into the island, the type of mushroom in each patch changes. The types available seem to be all types of mushrooms, medicinal roots, and nothing. So essentially, it's RNG whether you'll easily get access to all safe types, so you may have to reset the island a few times. My strat is to climb through the shores and tropics while searching for shrooms, but you could also do it with just the shore
