artists from hundreds of years ago used references, that is how you learn

if you try to draw from pure imagination only, you will not improve, its just not how the brain works, you need something to build off of

don't trace, dont steal work and copy it 1 to 1, but that inspiration, heavy inspiration at the start, that's how you'll find things you like drawing

the alphabet is fine, i learnt it when i was 13 for fun, the grammar and sentence structure is extremely difficult, at least for an english learner

i found the cyrillic script easy to pick up, there isn't anything deceiving about it, just memorisation

i find russian difficult to understand because i only know english, the sentence structure and vast amount of grammatical rules and exceptions to those rules are. seemingly neverending
