It's a bit of a hard process but doing a study on colors could help
A good tip tho is to stick with colors that are across from each other on the color wheel or colors that are similar to each other (varying shades of blue and green, red and orange, etc)

ive been doin art for so long and like to think i have a good grasp on colour but the tropics is actually sorta irritating to draw. it has a weird palette in my opinion that sorta makes it difficult to make look decent 😭😭

weird green for the grass, the sky is a very bright blue/green almost white. the sun lights up the terrain with red, the vines are also a weird brown/green

random tip: try doing underpainting then use a brush with low opacity. for example if you're tryna draw/color that is full of greens then try using orange/burnt sienna/reddish color as an underpainting

if the background is a distant shot, with the horizon visible, the further things are from the camera, the lighter in contrast they should be

the most interesting part of the comp should usually be the darkest
