NUMBER 1: never jump before you climb unless you need too, you can get higher without wasting that extra stamina
NUMBER 2: understand how things work, how much damage vines do in the tropics, how long u can use a piton before it breaks in alpines, how to aim scout cannons to succeed in landing
NUMBER 3: don’t be afraid to do something stupid, see a good route far off, parkour across some poison vines if it’s necessary, climb those spicy rocks to get higher, if it wears off, it’s worth trying if it’s really necessary.

the best advice I've ever heard from anyone was basically that 'you can make it better later, but the important thing is that you make it exist'. sketch! slap some blobs of color on a canvas! cut out pictures and arrange them together! make a concept even if you hate the execution. you can come back to it, touch it up, redraw it even. you don't have to share it until you're happy with it
