it comes off as very gross, man. i understand you're trying to seperate the original scout and "seymour" as you've renamed him, now that beane expressed he doesn't like the fact you're using the scout for such subject matter, but you have to understand that taking inspiration from an artist and then completely dismissing their feelings is weird and somewhat entitled behaviour

it's irreversible the discomfort you've caused man, id just recommend to not do that in the future i guess. if you find character inspiration in someone else's work, but want to do stuff with your own version of the character, altered, renamed ect; maybe dont inform the creator? "Seymour" would be unrecognisable as beanes scout if you didnt mention multiple times the inspiration. if you dont plan to let beane have say in what you do with the inspired scout, you dont need to share that. that gives beane a connection to this scout you've born from the original one , and of course hes going to be weirded out when you dismiss his boundaries on what he perceives as partly his

i get that, and there's nothing wrong with getting inspiration from others work, but the way you went about informing beane of his scout and Seymours inspirations, and then completely backhanding the boundaries beane asked for, it came off poorly. just take it as a learning oppurtunity i guess
